First off, it had a very strong smell when pulling it out of the box. I had to let it air out a day or two before actually trying it on my crate.Pros: it covered the crate well, sizing was perfect, easy to wipe down and clean.Cons: My dog absolutely hated it. I don’t know if it was just because it was different than our norm (a blanket thrown on top) or maybe she could still smell it but, from the moment I put that cover on, it was a struggle to get her inside. After a week we ended up taking it off and just putting back our old blanket.

I don’t want to even think about washing it. But have the same manufacture cage. The cover won’t even Velcro close on the sides “just a tad too short”. On each side. About 1 inch. It also 2” short to the ground. So it doesn’t do much for light or sound. The sides should have a flap under the corner for overlap. The bottom should go to the floor. Either they washed it after sewing. Or to save 1 cent in material they made it too short.

I use this for my dog’s kennel in our home. It fits perfectly and was easy to install–took me just a couple of minutes. My dog likes having a cover to her kennel, and this is better than the blanket I had over it since there’s nothing extra draping on the floor. It’s also easy to wash and dry. A simple solution for your dog to be more comfortable. Thank you!

I read on one of Cesar Milan’s books on how dogs like enclosed dark places to make their dens. This crate cover both provides a comfortable environment for my dog without sticking out like a sore thumb. My dog used to sleep on the bed with me but since setting up his crate he’s slept in there on his own without any training. The edges are lined with Velcro so very easy to set up, just a few minutes. The crate cover now also gives me additional storage space on top of the crate without the added risk of things falling through. I absolutely love this product and recommend it to anyone with a crate for their dog.

It’s a nice basic crate cover, however light seeps through around all the edges and on the bottom. And when I say my puppy loves the pitch black, that is an understatement. There is no Velcro straps to secure it to the bottom, so there is light seeping in all through the bottom edges. I got this assuming it would be a way to provide my puppy darkness while looking nice, however I still need to put a blanket over if I want my puppy to sleep in there during the day.

This was really easy to put on our one crate, the sides just velcro together. But our one dog still figured a way to drag it all inside the crate and rip it up….I was hoping that she wasn’t gonna be able to pull it inside of the crate like she does with the blanket cover that I put on the crate. And because this is made out of a thin plastic material she tore it completely basically the first night…

The 48inch fits my crate well. The cover looks good. I’ll have to make some minor improvements. I’ll add two grommets on the bottoms of 3 sides to keep it in place. Also I’ll have to figure something out for the seam inside…see my second picture. I have a 3.5 month old German Shepard mix and she’s all about pulling blankets into her crate. She will be able to get that seam with her teeth and destroy the cover. Overall though I am happy. Few minor adjustments and it will be perfect…I hope ????

We have a very spoiled chihuahua who resides in a 48″ castle of a cage when she needs to rest and in order to keep out our 2 black kitty cats and give the princess her privacy I purchased this cover, which fits perfectly over the cage, and securely closes with the velcro. I imagine it will continue to do the job and I consider this to be a great purchase in comparison to some of the high priced covers out there. I do know if the princess decides to grab a corner of this or if the kitties want to sharpen their nails on it, this thing will be shredded to pieces very easily but I’m keeping my fingers crossed they all appreciate our investment and respect this cloak of privacy provided for our 8lb monster.

Since dogs prefer to have their crates have most of the walls covered, this cover makes the crate look good in our room! Looks so much better than tossing a blanket over it, and since we’ve got a huge crate, we’re really pleased to have an attractive looking cover that fits the crate perfectly. Not only does it look good, the fabric is good quality and is made well, and super easy to just slip over the crate. We leave the front folded on top so our dog can look out, and it works well.

Put it on for the first time last night. While I was gone from home today, my dog (a peekapoo) pulled the cover entirely inside his kennel through the small openings of the kennel walls. It is now chewed as well, offerring no protection for the table legs and window sill that surround his kennel and have also been scratched/chewed (yes, while he was in the same kennel). While the cover was really cute, the velcro sides are no match for my pup. Nice idea but no real function.

While the cover is a perfect fit for our crate it is very flimsy and the Velcro just doesn’t do the trick. We have had it for about 3 weeks and our dog continually pulls it into the crate or off of the crate. It’s already ripped and has several holes in it. Would not recommend. Now we have to purchase a crate cover…again. Sigh

So I was looking for a cheap dog crate cover to put over my crate for my dog when he goes in there to sleep or hang out. I found this brand on Amazon and I thought I would try it out. It actually fits perfectly on my 42 inch crate. It has Velcro strips and like I said it fit well. The problem is it’s kind of cheaply made. What I mean by that is if your dog is a chewer, he will tear this up in a matter of minutes. The lining is pretty thin and it will rip easily so you just have to be opposed to that happening. Mine lasted two days before the dog started to chew it but that’s because he has separation anxiety. Besides that it was a great cover that fit well and pretty inexpensive

This doesn’t fit the medium size MidWest crate. They show that it fits, falling to the ground. I trusted the picture and that a medium cover would fit the MidWest medium crate. It doesn’t. It is two inches too small in width and 3 inches too small in height. MidWest what’s up? Why make a cover that doesn’t fit you own crate. I don’t recommend this cover.
DogMom01 –
I rescued a dog a few months ago and he was crate trained. So to make him comfy I left the crate out and he loves his crate so much. So I decided to make it part of the living room furniture but it’s so ugly to see the black wires. This worked perfectly. I leave it rolled up and he has full access to his crate with some darkness that helps when he is scared of a few things that he can’t get over from his previous life. This is a great cover and glad that I got it.
Amazon Customer –
I purchased this and have been using it for just over 5 months. The fit is great and exactly as expected. The corners velcro and line up perfectly. This is the perfect cover to create a den feeling for your pup. My lab (now 7 1/2 months) has always loved her crate and I think this is, at least in part, due to the feeling this cover creates. We have a more decorative cover over top of this one, but the decorative cover doesn’t block out the light. This cover is polyester and is not pretty, but also is not ugly. Just plain. It has been very durable for us. Our puppy has pulled it through the crate and chewed a few holes, but this is more from her being a persistent chewer rather than any deficiency in the product. We have purchased a variety of Midwest products (crate, mats, bowl for the crate, etc…) for our puppy and have been impressed with the quality of all of their products.

Worth the buy. Not sure how others dogs are getting to it, but mine had no straps that went in to the cage. The edges have velcro where the door flap is on both ends so you can shut the flaps. It’s a snug fit once you velcro one side. Fits my 48″ cage length height and width just right. Material is more like the material used for windbreaker jackets than an umbrella. There is no way for my dog to get to it, so I can only guess others used the velcro and somehow put it through the cage to use as a tie. Which of course, most dogs will grab a hold of and start chewing away. It’s designed more like a slip on cover than one you tie to the cage. Appears to be user error for those putting the velcro through the cage. While it appears it might be water resistant, I wouldn’t recommend using it for outdoors if your intentions are to cover it to block rain. The water would get in on both ends where the flaps come down and only seal at the velcro points.

Not what I expected. This doesn’t fasten TO the kennel at all, just sort of rests on top of it. Our miniature poodle puppy got agitated while in the crate at night so we thought the cover would help, but she bites and pulls at it when upset. Not the fault of the cover itself, but the flimsy construction IS–it started to come to pieces after only a week. I was hoping it would be able to hold up to more abuse. So if your dog is a chewer I would not recommend this at all!We can’t return it at this point so we’re just trying to keep her calm in the kennel in other ways, and hopefully she’ll stop pulling the cover.

Perfect for my dog! I received this item a few months ago, and I still love it very much. My dog loves it just as much as I do; definitely worth the money.NOTE: I will say that the crate seems easy to escape from if your dog is the type. Mine isn’t, but I can see why someone’s dog would. The reason being is the crate doors lock is a slide of in and out. From other crates, sometimes they require you to lift the crate, or some other form of extra protection to keep your dog from escaping. This crate doesn’t have this. Despite that, I’ve never had this issue.

Advertised as being 30 inches and fitting MidWest crates. It’s not even 29 inches, so it does not fit my 30-inch MidWest crate. We purchased one of these a few years ago for a smaller MidWest crate, and although it fits tight, it does fit. Was expecting the same snug fit with this one, but completely disappointed. For those that have a bit smaller crate, I think the quality is good.

This cover seems to make my dog feel more secure when in his crate, and it looks nicer and fits better than just an old sheet thrown over. You can arrange the cover for whichever crate door you prefer to use, or arrange it to expose both doors if you want more visibility for your dog. The edges velcro together and the cover fits the crate perfectly! The quality is very nice and was worth the price.
Dottie –
This is a very nice cover for a dog crate. However, there is one minor design flaw: there is no velcro or strings to hold the door flap out of the way when it’s open. If it’s closed, you can velcro all the sections, but if you want to leave the door open (as seen in the picture in the original ad,) you have to balance it on the top of the crate. It’s rolled off twice and my dog thinks her crate is off limits. So, although it is a very nice cover, this is not the best design.
Ned FlandersNed Flanders –
Does not fit their intermediate 36” kennels. Doesn’t fit their own product. If you Velcro one side the other sides corners are exposed and you are also unable to Velcro the other side. Worst part is it doesn’t drape down far enough. About 4 inches of the base of the kennel is showing. This was described to fit their OWN 36” Midwest kennel but failed to do so. Past my return period so I’m stuck with it.

I’m returning this cover, only for the reason that the Midwest Company makes covers for every model crate but the one I purchased in Fall 2020. It’s a ridiculous decision by their company to support only part of their line, but hey, they’re the company. I’ll never buy another Midwest Crate again.
TaraDawes –
Giving it four stars instead of five stars only because the way it was described made it sound like there were tabs to attach it to the crate – there isn’t. Even without those it seems to stay in place, it looks nice, it does it’s job. I just wish that you could attach it to the crate.
trishsnumber1 –
Be sure to read fine print this cover does not have zippers but has velcro on 3 places each side seam. Shuts ok if you only need it for one pup. Makes using a crate so much more of a positive experience. Utilize his crate as a private den for uir pup. Check ur crate measurements.
Christie L. Bowman –
I bought this crate cover for a 24” crate that is a different brand. It still works great and fits the crate perfectly. Love the Velcro corners and the privacy it allows so my dog has her own safe space. I haven’t washed it yet, but the stitching and fabric seem to be of good quality, so I doubt I will have any issues.
Taylor Kaits –
UPDATE: Still loving this crate cover! I can attest to the fact that this cover is water resistant/proof(?) because I accidentally left a sopping wet rag on top of the kennel and the water pooled rather than seeping through and soaking my dog – lol! I still believe that the crate cover makes a plain crate look a lot nicer.I like this crate cover! It’s fitted and stylish so it looks much better than draping a random blanket over the dog kennel. I won’t be getting my new puppy for a couple more weeks, so I’m not sure how he’ll like it, but I think the crate cover makes the kennel cozier.

My puppy was not having it when it came to her crate. We realized it was too bright and had been using a sheet to provide more of that cave like feel and it improved her training. The sheet was long and we kept stepping on it, so we decided to get a crate cover instead. Best purchase for this part of her training. Now she sleeps very well. The cover goes over Midwest crates easily and closes with velcro.

I bought this cover 11/8/2018 and my 12 lb. Havanese puppy has managed to rip it in places while I’m out and she’s in the crate. It’s now 1/27/2019, 2+ months after purchase and it’s unusable. I even had to duck tape it so it would stay in place. She apparently can put her little paws in between the wire crate structure and pull parts of the cover inside. I know it was cheap to buy but it’s caused me more trouble than it’s worth. I’m now using a blanket to cover the crate overnight. I do NOT recommend this item!

I have a little Chihuahua in a big cage (yes he is spoiled) he is 12 now in human years that helped him calm down plus with his Serta pad and comfy blankets he loves it. I have noticed a much more relaxed dog then before so it is helping. It was easy to put on and profits additional warmth for him. Next up a heated pad.

Love these, I already have 3 for all of our crates! They are easy to fold which is great when you’re traveling. It covers the crates completely and our dogs can’t tear them up like they had the blankets we previously used. Highly recommend for crate trained dogs. Even the cats love hiding in the dog’s crates now!
Lynne Miller –
Just what we needed to help the dogs sleep at night! This cover on their crate seems to work on them like a cover on a birdcage works for birds. They fall asleep and don’t whine about it nearly as much. I think it makes them feel safe. It’s well-made, the the gray/white pattern perfectly matched our décor, and it was worth every penny!
Amy LAmy L –
We do not have a MidWest brand crate but this cover fits our crate very well. It definitely helps our puppy calm down and sleep without the distractions of kids and cats running by.The cover seems well made and very sturdy. We’ve had it for a few weeks now and I am very happy with it.
Cindy Merritt –
I like the cover, seems made well and the material seems strong but I did have one big issue. I ordered the size for my crate but the one I received was several inches(4-5) to long. Width was perfect but the length made it awkward. It would not fit close enough that the wind would not keep blowing up under it and sometimes blowing it half off when outside. It does not cover the bottom, with beds in crate I didn’t care or think it needed it.I tried setting the crate on the cover, (tucking it under) but the wind would still get in and lift it. I don’t know if this would have been an issue if it fit correctly.. I had to fix mine to keep it on. Not a bad cover but mine did not fit right. I checked the size of my crate and measured before I ordered.

Won’t stay on crate. I bought the Midwest 42” door crate and this cover to cover the crate. My puppy continually pulls the cover off. The Velcro isn’t strong enough to keep the cover together, It’s too late for me to send it back now and if I could I certainly would as it was a waste of money. I will put a large towell to cover the crate and give this one to some charity organization. I suggest you do not buy it.

I ordered the 24 in one. I measured my puppy’s cage multiple times to ensure I got the right side. It arrived and I was excited because weve beennusing my favorite blanket to cover her cage. Slip it over the cage fits good. Go to velcro it and it doesnt velcro completely shut on the one size and there is a 2 inch gap one the bottom where my pup can see through. She howled all night because of the gaps and spaces. Had to revert back to using the blanket. Maybe order up in size do that it provides full coverage

I bought this because my dogs are very reactive when kenneled. They bark a lot and my daughter is always trying to bother them. Our previous solution was just throwing a blanket over the top of the kennel but it would get hot and it was unsightly!!! This cover has a beautiful pattern with the most calming gray. It is very lightweight but still keeps a majority of the light out. There are even little velcro tabs to velcro the door up!!! Definitely get one of these in your life! I love it and my dogs love it because my daughter leaves them alone now when they are in there!

I am torn on this cover. I have 2 nearly identical construction on my ferrets cage, and am not in love with it. the Velcro isn’t the best, and it is actually a little bigger then dimensions state. it works to cover up the dog crate, just not my favorite product**UPDATE**On 3rd use, it tore along a seam. wow, i didnt expect it to be made this cheaply. sending back.

I have a medium size cage that my dogs sleep in at night. Their cage stays in the dining room and I kept using a sheet to go over the top. I accidentally ran across this product and decided to try it. I will agree with other reviews that the product is thin, but I have two older Maltese and a Yorkie Poo, so it works perfectly for my three smaller dogs. I like that it’s held down by velcro because it makes it easier to undo the cover when I let them out. My dogs seem to enjoy it a lot better than the sheet I was using. They sleep better and are calmer when visitors come over. One of my Maltese barks a lot when people come over and when she seems them. The cover helps keep it completely covered without any gaps for my little Maltese to see and bark at people.

These covers are very nice! Add this to your crate to create a draft free, cozy and secure feeling for your cat. I bought two, one for each new 30 inch crate I ordered. The material is sturdy and the fit is perfect. In my photo you can see the design from the inside of the crate and how having the cover on makes for a great little hideout for my kitty! I’m very pleased with this product. I like that you had colors available that coordinated with the cat beds I bought in gray and mocha too.

UPDATE: If you have a dog that has learned how to take the cover off your crate, do not buy this product. It’s nice as decoration but not functional! Spent $40 and it now sits on my kitchen table. Waste of moneyVery cute and functional product for the money. We’re getting a new puppy and really didn’t want to spend a lot for something used only to “class up” a crate. As stated in one of the earlier reviews “looks much better than just a sheet” and I love that’s it’s machine washable and comes in different design colors that match my home. I’m not a bit sorry I purchased this!
Trent Robertson –
My dog is crate trained and well mannered, but easily pulled the fabric into the crate and destroyed it. There is no way this product would work for a dog with seperation anxiety. It needs a way to affix to the crate at an inaccessible location for the dog, like under the crate tray to keep it taught against the cage, however it’s designed to just loosely fit over the crate.
Monica FierstosMonica Fierstos –
My main issue is how big it is… hear me out. I ordered two inches bigger than the crate I have because the 22 inch wasn’t available in grey. The sides are way longer than 2 inches though. Maybe they were measured for the crate to be taller? It’s most likely because I ordered the wrong size on purpose, so hopefully no one else will have this issue. My dog doesn’t seem to mind though! He’s much more comfortable now that I have the cover. It just needs to be tacked up and it should work fine.

This is a review for the 42″ Midwest Dog Kennel Cover. We recently rescued a German Shepherd Chow mix and purchased the Midwest 42″ crate for him. Although he is only 8 weeks old, he is already 24lbs with giant paws so we really hope he will grow into his crate nicely. This cover is reported to be better than using towels or blankets as those are not as breathable and can make your pup feel really hot. I love that the this drapes over all 4 sides and can be secured with the velcro that comes attached to each end (my pics show the cover loosely draped and not fully secured). Having the full coverage helps to make your pet feel safe and comfortable while crate training.
keohinani –
We bought this for my dog’s kennel. He sleeps in his kennel in my bedroom at night. We put a large, thick towel over it during holidays with fireworks and he is comfy and quiet in his kennel. Ever since we bought it for his kennel, he sleeps so much better and settles faster. Without the kennel cover, he will whine and want to come out of his kennel. It fit perfectly for the kennel, and I like that it has Velcro to hold the flaps securely together when necessary. The fabric is lightweight, which is great for hot summer months. We open one side and put a fan near the kennel for my dog to keep air circulating and to keep him cool. This was a great investment!
Mom of 3 Busy Kids –
This is one of the best purchases I have made. My older lab has been having a rough month with thunderstorms and fireworks, and we have tried everything—he wears a thunder shirt and has even taken meds. He tries to find a place to hide out but ends up running around frantically. I bought this to put over his crate, and this has become his favorite place. He now sleeps in it every night, which he hasn’t done in years. I had no idea an inexpensive crate cover could be so helpful, and it was very reasonably priced.
1ofEach –
I loved how easy this was to set up! So much better than the old crates with the 4 posts that have to inserted. I haven’t tried to fold it up yet, so I can’t attest to that. We also got the MidWest crate cover for it too, and our 10 week old puppy loves to lay in her crate. Associated it with some treats, and right now she has open access to it. But at least the positive association is there for when we do have to crate her.
Cynthia –
For the first time in my life (after having dogs sleep in bed with me), I decided to change to crating our new puppies in crates. I believe this has been better for both canine and human family members. The puppies are free to use their crates during the day and are closed up at night. They appear to know this is their safe space and are happy to be in their crates. Based upon all the puppy training videos and human sleep studies, I believe we made the right decision.
Rebecca –
Good quality and fit for my dog’s wire crate (dimensions of crate are roughly: 24”L X 20”H X 17.5”W). Material is thick enough to block out light to create a cozy dog den. There are various ways you can configure this so that you have options about which sides are open/closed. Great pricepoint and delivery was prompt. I only wish they had more fabric design options/colors 🙂
Centimeter Defeater –
If you have a chewing puppy or a excitable teenager, this may not be best. The doggo pulled it into their cage and ripped it at the seams in the matter of 15 minutes. It isn’t sturdy at all. BUT IT WORKS AMAZING for dogs that are inclined to be well……. a dog, the lazy type. Perfect! I went to the store for milk and came back, the dog treated that cover like my ex wife treated treated my happiness. DESTROYED IT. Otherwise, I recommend! It works well. I am just disappointed at the quality. But hey, don’t listen to me! I am buying another one from the same people after this review.
mletrans –
Not much to say about it. It fits great and does what it should. I like that it’s lightweight and easy to put on. You can flip up any of the sides to make it more open if you want. It’s a thin material so not too bulky if you fold it up. Easy to pack.
Zabit Mechtiy –
I like the pattern and idea of easy sides to roll up. I have the crate with two doors and tend to end up using the long side most often so it was hard to find a cover that accommodated this. However I measured the crate to be sure I ordered the right size which is 36”. I was sent the 42”. Really disappointed in the shippers. I do not have time to return as I bought this for a puppy area to look nice. Right now it’s a jumble of all her stuff and the cover allows me to at least hid some toys in the crate. So good quality but lack of attention by the shippers. If I have to fix something to make it work when the order was messed up then the rating goes down. Thus only 3 stars.
Hannah –
This is a nice basic crate cover. It’s easier on the eyes than most. Trust me I looked for a “cute” crate cover & this was literally all I found LOL.I took off a star because I got the size for my crate but the door flap at the front doesn’t Velcro closed. It’s close but not flush, my dog can still see out. Luckily we rarely ever put the door flap down but when we do want to, it doesn’t completely close up & cover.
Bonnie Sorsby –
Works and functions well for our needs. We keep 1 side open at all times, and there’s no way to like.. snap or hold the rolled side in place. This is my only real complaint. It also slides around some so have to adjust it here and there. Thankfully the pup doesn’t bother it. If you ever redesign I would add snaps to attach it at the corners of the crate and maybe some sort of snap to hold the rolled sides up.
Kat –
I’ve had this product for about six or seven months and it is still in the same shape as when I bought it. Originally this was not on my list to get for my pup when bringing him home but when he would go in there for a nap he wasn’t to happy with any of the light so I used a blanket of his and covered the crate. Which he loved but he also wanted his blanket. Found this and it had been in the crate since and my pup will leave it alone. It’s easy to clean and easy to fold up. Since my pup is nearing his first birthday his crate doesn’t get much use unless he decides to sleep in there buy he will only do that with the crate cover on. Rudy approves this product very much.
DAVEandCOURTNEY WAYSON –
I can’t say I hate it, but I can say that I wish it went all the way around the crate like I expected it to. Kind of like a sock, but with access on both ends. The fact that it just lays on top means our dog can (and did) pull it inside the crate and poop/pee on it. My husband washed it in our utility sink so we’ll see how well it cleans up and try again tonight but at this point I’m feeling like it was a waste of money.
Markiep Amazon Customer –
This is the worst thing I’ve ordered from Amazon. The threads are raveling and seams coming apart straight out the bag. Unless you’re planning on sewing it before you use it don’t purchase. Then the instructions say wash in a machine without an agitator. Do they even make machines like that. Why are we still getting trash made in CHINA in 2021?

I just got a new puppy and this cover works perfectly on her cage to make it feel like she has her own little safe space. She goes right to sleep! I love this cover better than a blanket or sheet because some dogs like to pull those through the bars and it can be dangerous. You can’t do that with this cover. And it has Velcro pieces on all four corners so it works great with double door kennels and allows you open up/expose any side of the kennel you want.
ess –
This cover does not calm my dog down. He is able to pull it through the crate bars and completely remove it from the crate. He pulls half the cover into the crate and the other half hangs outside. However other than this design flaw that allows a mischievous canine to remove this cover it is otherwise ok. I will also say for what it is,(a piece of thin, cut & sewn nylon with Velcro), it’s overpriced. If this was a sturdier heavier material maybe the dog wouldn’t be able to completely pull it off while being locked inside the crate. Houdini hound anyone? Well he does escape having the blinds over his crate at any rate!
C. E. Wilson –
Cover is nice looking and well- made and the price is much better than other brands I’ve seen advertised. It doesn’t fit our crate perfectly but still looks much nicer than the bare wire. Overall I’m satisfied even if it’s a little small.

For the price it isn’t bad. It is a bit thin, BUT the dog does not chew it up. If I put any other cover on there as a makeshift cover, she would chew it. For some reason this works. The fasteners are ok. It is also a lot thinner than I thought but should be easy to clean. Fit purrrfectly…for the dog crate that is.

Dexter “Blue Nose Pibble” recently got his new 42 inch Big Boy Crate/Room & I had been searching for a affordable quality cover to match my red leather and also grey leather decor & this is perfect. He loves it many tail wags, fits perfect & installation took about 90 seconds. Definently recommend also arrived less than 48 hours from when I ordered.
The Normans –
I have 2 of these, they really do help for many things. Keep weird smells in, keep dog hair in so it’s easy to vacuum out, and most importantly keep poopsplosions in! My doggies have both pooped and it splatters all over the cover, I took if off and washed in the washer like normal. They’ve both been through many cleanings and still looks great. I highly suggest these if you have messy pups.I was apprehensive at first due to price but it was a good choice in the long run.

This cover fits perfectly over Amazon and PetSmart crates. I was concerned that it might not based on other reviews and comments, but don’t worry – it fits very well! This keeps out the light, but is still breathable and light weight to allow fresh air into the crate. My German Shepherd doesn’t do well being left in his crate if it isn’t covered, and just using a blanket was a hassle. This fits well and stays in place. Each corner has velcro to stick together. You can roll up whichever side your door is on too, which is what I do when I’m not crating my pup. Dexter approves!

While this product is cute, breathable and easy to put on, I must note IT IS NOT WATERPROOF. That was my mistake. I unfortunately, due to the storms this spring, I now have to rethink things. have since ordered a true waterproof cover I will use beneath it and a new waterproof bed to go inside of the crate. (It was ruined due to the heavy rains.)However, this is a very good INSIDE crate cover.

It does not attached to the crate at all. I copied this from the description: “Hook & loop tabs hold dog kennel cover neatly in place…” It doesn’t come with any hook and loop tabs, only the velcro to hold the sides of the cover together. Decided to try it anyways, my puppy pulled it through her crate and chewed a hole in it. So now I have a product that is not what I thought I was getting and I can’t return it because of the hole. It fits the crate fine and if you don’t need it to attached to the crate then it would be fine.

I have a Frisco 36″ crate. I bought a Midwest 36″ cover and it was smaller by atleast 2-3 inches on the height and width. It left holes along the sides, so my pup kept peeking outside, and it didn’t serve the purpose. I have now ordered the next bigger sized cover. So consider ordering one size larger unless you have a Midwest crate.Otherwise the product seems nice.UPDATE – The larger size 42″ is WAY too big. So reverted back to the 36″. I will probably be attaching a small extension to one to extend it. . Best would be to buy crate and cover from the same brand. Unfortunately for me Frisco does not make covers.

Like so many other reviewers’ dogs, my dog pulled this cover through his crate when left alone. After a few days of this, I poked my own holes in each corner and threaded zip ties through to fasten the cover to the crate. But my dog was able to pull on the cover until it ripped at the corners where I had threaded the zip ties. This would be a much better crate cover if it had metal grommets on each corner for secure fastening to the crate. I’m definitely disappointed, all the more so because I do think my dog liked the dark, den-like atmosphere created by the cover, especially at night. But overall, it was just a crate time chew toy.

I also gave review for the kennel we used this cover for. The kennel experience has turned out to be great! This cover not only makes the kennel look better but more importantly our dog loves it. She feels secure in it and now at night she runs into the kennel when it’s bedtime. The story behind having her…she’s almost 10 years old and never had to use a kennel but my mom went into memory care and the dog wasn’t 100% house trained and we had all new floors put in. We originally ordered to help protect our floors during times of not being home or during our sleep hours. Now it’s become more for her happiness and security than our floors.

We have a Frenchie and he loves to let us know his disappointment vocally! Especially my boys are doing their school work or when we are cooking while he’s in his crate. Also are house gets drafty at night. Using this crate covers has done wonders. He is getting his puppy sleep and we are getting some quiet time without sacrificing style!

We bought XL for Midwest XL Crate. It fits perfectly, reaches the ground, and does not have gaps. It’s cozy in there. Our 7 week old puppy is getting used to it, and it is so much better than the blanket we used for our last dog (of course, that dog was a perfect animal, so anything was good with him!) It’s lightweight so not adding a lot of insulation/heat (good for us, indoor and air conditioned) and it fits on like a glove. All good. Would recommend.

Like blackout curtains, these crate covers have been a blessing for our household. We’ve had noticeable improvement in their quality of sleep (in fact, they’re snoring right now) because the feel safer and more content in their space. Works wonders during fireworks holidays and has eliminated visual stimulation. Velcro sides are easy to manage even when I’m half asleep in the morning and it’s time for them to go out.

Point blank it doesn’t attach to anything and my dog easily pulls it off and can even pull it inside his crate. Totally defeats the purpose. I gave it three stars because it arrived as promised. It came in good condition and the 22″ is the perfect fit for the 22″ crate. I guess I’ll try a way to keep in on ???? I was very excited to get this but now I don’t know what I’ll do. Very annoyed and disappointed. Any ideas would be appreciated.

We purchased this because we thought our new pup would sleep in his crate and we read that they do better with a crate cover. Our pup ended up sleeping with us so he never spent one night in his crate or using this cover. We tried using this cover when we left him during the day in his crate while we were running errands and he pulled the cover in through the crate grates. For us, it was a waste of money but it is a decent lightweight cover. We just didn’t use it for what we purchased it for.

Good quality cover that fits perfectly and looks great. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star rating is because the Velcro that it comes with to hold the corners together doesn’t really hold them together. I had to cut into the fabric and make little fabric ties to hold the corners. Other than that it’s a great, durable, easy crate cover! Our new pup loves it too!

I often use these covers for my dog crates. They match well and are easy to install. When I measured my metal dog crate and looked up the product measurements I quickly found a match. When I received the cover and installed it, I found that it didn’t fit 100%. The fit is well enough for my needs but I really only use 3 sides and leave the front open. It velcro attaches to itself and is made of nice sturdy material that will go through the wash easily.

With or without this nice nylon cover, you can set things on top, but it quickly sags. Do I got this cover AND a solid tabletop to go over it, fits the 42” crate like a champ, AND has both sides finished, in different colors (black on one side, wood grain on the other), so you can decide which looks best.Took a few days longer than the crate to arrive, but with the money. I have a two-crate setup for my puppy, one downstairs for naps and other crate training, and another up in the bedroom for overnight sleeping. The daytime one is uncovered so the puppy doesn’t feel isolated during the day, but we use this cover on the nighttime crate (all flaps down except the one over the door) to screen out light and distraction, to create a cozier feel, and to make it more distinct from the short naps downstairs. Results have been excellent. Would do again the same way.

I have two sibling boxer/mastiff/pug – we really don’t know – year old pups. They sleep in a large crate and get cranky if I stay up watching tv past 8:30. I put this on their crate and it was miraculous! They didn’t bother me, slept late…which meant I slept late…and woke up to them ripping this apart. It lasted not even 24 hours. I would highly suggest this, it also really looks great – but if you have chewers, just know that this might not last long.

Perfect fit for the iCrate “42 kennel. Does exactly what you want it to do. I used to just use blankets to cover the kennel, this is a way neater and better solution. Also, for the price, you just can’t beat it. My only pet peeve is that you can’t easily keep the front flap at different levels of open (like half open, for example. It’s just open or closed). You can find ways around that, but it would be nice if there were additional velcro straps so you could keep it at whatever level of open you like. (Why? Because sometimes you don’t want to TOTALLY block your dog’s view, just make it so they have to lie down to see.

Be careful if you buy a Midwest 36″ crate cover for the Midwest Life Stages 36″ crate. The Midwest 36″ crate cover may fit their Icrate crate, but it is too short for the Life Stage crate. The Life Stage is 1″wider and 2″ taller than the Icrate. Bought the Cover when I bought the Life Stage crate because it was listed as frequently bought together, and they advertised that it fits Midwest crates. The only cover I have found that has the dimensions that would fit the 36″ Life Stage crate is Molly Mutt Dog Big Crate Cover. Unfortunately , it cost about twice as much as the Midwest cover.

As it’s made by the manufacturer, this does fit my dog’s crate perfectly, which is nice. The material is such that my puppy cannot shred it, as she did the blanket I used before, as she tries to pull it through the grate of the crate. But the material is pretty thin, so she does still manage to do that – pull the entire cover through one small square (oh, puppies!). So I cannot leave the cover on the crate when I’m not nearby. And she has managed to put a few holes in the cover as she pulls it through. But overall, it’s better than a blanket (which she was shredding in attempt to pull it through), and she is definitely the type of dog that likes her “den” to be dark and cozy, so having the cover on (and covering all five sides) soothes her.

Nice cover. So the cover is only supposed to fit the Midwest iCrate (single or double door) and not any of the other crates. For the 36” crates, iCrate dimensions are 36L x 23 W x 25H, whereas the Ultima Pro crate dimensions are 37L x 24.5 W x 28H, so the Ultima Pro is bigger in every dimension, especially in height. I took a risk and bought it for our Ultima Pro crate (36” double door), figuring I could make modifications as needed. It fits on top (see photo). However, I could only (barely) fasten the Velcro on three of the sides and there was a gap on the fourth side (see second photo). If you are using the divider in the crate, you could just put the side with the gap on one of the far corners of the crate. The crate is too tall for the cover to reach the ground, leaving approximately 4 1/8” of the crate exposed at the bottom, enough for your dog to see through the crack when he/she is lying down. I’m going to sew fabric at the bottom of each panel so it covers the gap.

I bought this to go over a 36 inch Frisco Fold & Carry Double Door Collapsible Wire Dog Crate, which I bought from Chewy. We have the crate in our master bedroom and wanted a cover that was relatively nice looking; we’ve used blankets before but those end up shifting over time and are annoying to put back on if you travel with the crate. This cover fits well and is much more attractive than a plain black or grey one.

I bought this cover for my puppy’s crate to help create more of a “den” feeling for her when she is in her crate. Unfortunately, as nice as the cover is, it is cut too small for my crate’s dimensions. I know I didn’t buy the wrong size either because I compared the crate measurements to the cover measurements, and it should have fit. It fits over most of the crate, but I am unable to Velcro it on both sides at the same time on the front. Quite disappointing..

The cover itself is really nice. My only issue is that I have a 24″ crate, so I purchased this cover thinking it would fit but unfortunately it’s about a couple inches short. Now, I didn’t get a MidWest crate, I bought a different brand. So don’t assume that this fit a craye brand other than MidWest brand. I am going to keep it, I might just sew some material to the bottom to make it longer.

My dog has separation anxiety, and has recently started to do better having his entire crate covered instead of just the back half. This fits his 42 crate well. I just flip the front cover back. I think I’d prefer sippers to velcro to close the corners, but for the price I’m not gonna complain too much. I definitely would not use this outside or in the car on a sunny day (unless it was cold).

My dog pulls the cover into the crate and I am concerned that he can get hurt. We don’t put towels or anything on his crate because he will pull them inside and there’s a high risk of him hurting himself. My dog is a little Shih Tzu.It’s well-made and an ordinary dog might not do as my boy. My dog brings it inside the cage. He has not torn it. Be aware of this risk.
Annimosity –
I was not in love with the velcro fasteners, zippers are much easier and less chewable. The cover looked pieced together with remnants of fabric. However, it fits well and it does the job. I cannot give a score for durability because I bought it recently.
Em –
It’s a thin, plasticy-feeling material. That has pros and cons. It’s very lightweight, reasonably waterproof, and can be washed in a washing machine as long as you set it to cold. However, my pup discovered he can pull it through the crate openings when he gets bored. Simply putting a weight on top fixed that issue, though. It looks a bit cheap, but it helps keep the pup calmer and makes it so there’s less splatter if he decides to lick the crate bars when he gets too excited hearing people coming home from work.

Got the correct measurement for the kennel I have, but its like too small on one side, so when you connect the velcro its squeezed across the door. The pattern is nice, but the material is very thin, puppy only calms down once the entire room is dark. She’s probably still able to see shadows and walking very well through it.

I was really shocked to see that the cover didn’t fit our MidWest crate well. The crate and cover are from the same maker. The cover is not quite big enough so if you intend to velcro the sides (which looks much nicer) you won’t be able to. They will pull and the cover will bunch at the corners, etc. It just needs to be a tad bit bigger. I may have missed something but intended to roll up the side of the crate (the larger section of cover) and didn’t notice any snaps or closures to hold the rolled up portion in place. This is a product that is “okay”. Depending on what you need it for, it might work for you but honestly, I mostly want it for look. The crate takes up so much space and I was sick of seeing a blanket draped over it. I’m returning this cover as I’m sure there is something out there with a better fit.

Bought to cover my baby’s crate but I realized right away after taking this out of the plastic that I would only be able to use it during the hot summer months. Super thin material, very flimsy and hard to handle. Would not buy again. I use blankets in the winter and would even prefer to use a light blanket during the summer due to air conditioning.

I really recommend purchasing these covers that are made to size for your Midwest crate. I bought two crates to connect together for my cat who had major surgery. (BUY THE BED TOO!) and the covers provide privacy, and feeling of security for your pet. Each side is sewn as a flap allowing you to open or close whichever side you want open or closed. To secure the sides that are closed, there is sturdy velcro. The color and design is nice because I have them in my living room and it blends in. These are high quality and thick.
Quinndoggie –
Fits my 36″ long Midwest wire crate perfectly. Doesn’t seem to be the sturdiest or thickest material, but the stitching is good. I also like that there are velcro pieces on all four sides to vent the crate as I need to. I bought this cover for indoor dog sports where the dogs need to be crated in close quarters. It keeps my dog calm and resting while other dogs walk past. The polyester material is light and will adhere custom lettering or designs using stickers or decals.

Love this cover. It is stylish and easy to put on. My dog does not touch it or pull it so that is nice. It does velcro to the sides of eachother to create a seal. It opens different ways. Fits the size crate 30 inch crate i bought perfectly. I used to use a blanket but this doesnt collect as much hair.Recommend!
