Our rescue came to us crate trained & I think he likes being in there. For my own well being I needed to get him a bigger one since he is already potty trained. This thing is huge. It is good quality & very sturdy when assembled properly. It is not made to be transported from house to car. ASSEMBLY ADVICE: 1. locate the 4 corner rods and remove them immediately after unboxing. 2. Be sure to place the corner rods properly following the over/under method that the instructions show.

I bought this product before and we loved it, however I only gave it 3 stars this time because it came bent and broken. The brackets on 2 of the sides came bent and they are extremely hard the bend back together. The top wire broke off and the dog door came bent as well…definitely not like the other one we bought a last year! I have 2 german shepards and they both are over 75 pounds. They both out grew the xl cages at 7 months. It is very spacious for them. It was simple to put together. I definitely recommend using 2 people when assembling. Once set up, It is large so I wouldn’t move it because you do need to take it apart to put back together. We love this cage for them. But just be aware it is large!

The dog crate is huge and good value. My Belgian malinois weighed 90 lbs last time I took him to the vet and he looks like a puppy in it. (He’s on the bigger side of his breed) I really just wanted a crate he could completely stretched his legs etc.. I feel like it would definitely fit a Great Dane but if you have a very large Dane they might not be able to completely stretch there legs sleeping but that’s my opinion. The bars seem pretty tough and strong to me. Out of all the basic crates I’ve had these bars are the thickest and strongest. My package was fine. But I had delivered in Maryland and I don’t think it traveled far to get here. It’s not all the way put together yet I am waiting on someone to help me but I could basically set most of it up myself.

If it wasn’t so giant and heavy I would have returned it! It’s going to serve is just fine now that it’s assembled but OMG the instructions are a tad confusing no sides are labeled… you need a HUGE 4x the size of the crate, space yo assemble it as you have to pay the sides down and then slip them into clips, which when the metal is bent on a lot of the sides and base it’s really difficult… I cried multiple times putting this together and had to take a couple breaks… for function and size this is a 2 person assembly job for sure

The crate came damaged with many of the connecting loops and wire bent in a more than normal state. How did they get so bent and in different locations? I had to use pliers and some elbow grease to bend it back to a use-able state. Building the crate wasn’t too difficult, but definitely could use a better design. Other crates that I’ve bought over the years can open and collapse with 1 motion. Don’t know why the company doesn’t do have a product that can do the same thing. After putting the crate together, I was a little unpleased about the condition that the crate came in. Having bought a brand new product, it’s expected the product is in great condition upon arrival.I reached out to customer service regarding the product defects, but they pretty much told me ”okay” and thanks for letting them know. I know at some point in the future I will need to get another crate, but it won’t be from this company since the quality is subpar.

It was NOT easy to assemble, at least not for 1 person. It is VERY heavy so make sure you have help to get it inside & put it together. I got it for my 120 bloodhound & he has PLENTY of room to move around. It is super sturdy. He is not an aggressive dog. Quite the opposite so he doesn’t try to escape or anything. This is exactly what I wanted for him so he can have lots of room while he’s crated.

Lets get into itSize: this thing is huge. That is a 2 year old Cane Corso sleeping on her crib mattress. It is plenty big for your biggest baby.Ease: It is definitely a 2 person job. Idk how handy you are. The biggest pain were bent hooks and rods. It made it so much more difficult to put togetherDurability: I’ll update this after she throws her first tantrum. We’re just starting crate training so if she winds up busting this thing I’ll let you know.Could probably do with a size down for this size dog, however I didn’t want to get rid of her bed. If your starting fresh one size down would be ok.

The crate came with everything pictured but it was so damaged I could not use it. All four sides and the top were bent. I tried for over two hours to put it together anyway because I really needed the crate over the weekend. The return process was cumbersome because the box was also damaged. I went to order it again because it would probably be great if it wasn’t damaged by the shipper. I found that I can’t get it for the same price as I did originally and now it is over $100 more to purchase a replacement. The only one I can get for the same price has only one door and no tray. I may as well have one built by someone in my town instead of spending the extra because now it will cost less to get one that way.

What a GREAT crate! Well made, VERY sturdy! EXTREMELY large. Our Dane loves it! It did come a little banged up, but nothing serious. That’s on the shipper… I’d buy this again from Midwest, but unless we decide to buy another Dane soon, there’s no need. This one will last a lifetime! We recently bought an extra large Stella Season’s dog bed, here on Amazon, that fits PERFECTLY inside this ginormous crate. Now our Dane lives like a King who loves his crate!

Talk about huge, that is putting it mildly, well built and heavy, no wonder they say it would take two guys to put this together, the upscale is my German Shepherd puppies have enough room for them to move around with a lot of room left over. The only drawback is a couple of panels were bent but we got around that, thanks for a great product.

Finally, a crate big enough for my growing Great Dane. Seriously. No one else had a crate big enough. He can actually lay down and stretch out in this crate at night. It is huge. Me and my wife and the dog all fit in it easily. It is a bit difficult to assemble and it’s definitely a 2 person job, and while sturdy and does sway a bit so I wouldn’t recommend putting anything too heavy on top. But we are extremely happy with this purchase and highly recommend to anyone with a giant breed dog. Or bobcat or something

This is a great crate. It is not easy to put together but once you figure it out its good. I like it because it was big enough for my german shepherd when he had surgery and had to stay crated for a month. Now that he is doing well, both my dogs love being together in this crate. It can actually fit 3 dogs comfortably. My dogs are 88lbs and 64lbs and they are both very comfortable in this crate. I would give it 5 stars but because it is a little difficult to figure out that costs a star. Would be good if you did a video showing how to put it together as the directions leave something to be desired.

I wish I would have bought this sooner! My bloodhound was literally eating my house (window sills, couch, recliner, entertainment center, etc.) while we were gone and with this crate I have no more worries. I waited a little while before writing this review because I wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to be able to escape. He has plenty of room to stand, turn around and stretch out. He has been in it for 15 hours and not escaped. I think the 3 latches on each door prevent this from happening. It truly is ginormous and takes up a lot of space. I was also worried about him trying to chew on the wall it is sitting next to, but the slots in the wire are not large enough for him to be able to do this.I was able to assemble this crate by myself (5’5″ unfit woman). I was also able to get it in the house by myself, I scuffed up the wall a little though. The box was kind of beaten up, but the crate was intact. It took me approximately 30 minutes and directions are fairly simple with watching the YouTube video. Do make sure you have a large open area to work in. I was sweating and breathing heavy when i got done, but with determination it can be done by yourself. If you have a large breed dog or plan on getting one, just buy this crate. It is cheaper than trying to upgrade later on. Thank you Midwest for making such a great product to keep one of my fur children safe and happy!

The product is solid. That’s for sure. But I’m a single mom and had my kid help me assemble it. Lawd its heavy and putting it together was a pain. But once its together it’s not budging. Pretty solid. I have an english mastiff pup who has no idea he will be a giant one day. Looking forward to watching him grow in to it.*Edited to add: a crib mattress fits perfectly in here. No reason to break your bank on specific dog beds. The crib mattress works, its vinyl covered for easy clean up as well.

I ordered crate on the 12th, shipped the 13th and got it today the 15th. Timely arrive. This was delivered by a very petite women with UPS and unfortunately it got dropped on one side. NOT the manufacturers issues at all the some metal got bent. 95# dropping will damage any package. Make sure you read the instructions and have one or two people helping. If UPS hadn’t of dropped the crate it would have been a quick install. Told 30min with bending the metal back in place. As you will see in the pictures I have added, this is a massive crate. I’m 5’6 so I hope that puts a little perspective into how big this is. Make sure you have clearance in your house to install. My ceiling is 6’5 tall. I needed another 3 to 4 inches to slid the rods in but I managed. I do not recommend using this crate for travel unless you have the time and patience with taking it apart and putting it back together. My dog is a shepherd Great Dane mix and was 4″ to big for the crate just smaller than this one (also pictured). So far this crate is working out well. My dog on all fours to the head is 34″ tall. He now has enough room to stand up straight and stretch his legs when laying down. Crates this big are hard to find. Don’t blame damage on the crate to the manufacturer. Shipping something this big and heavy there is bound to be some damage. It unfortunate but it happens. This crate has given me peace of mind knowing my 1yr old shepherd/Dane mix has enough room to stretch and be comfortable when I’m not at home! Thank you Midwest home for pets!!

Great amount of height inside the crate which is what we were looking for. Our pup no longer hits her head upon entry. Doesn’t need to duck down at all to get in and out the door. This is the biggest crate we could find for dogs and honestly before we found it we thought we were going to have to go shop at a zoo for a used tiger cage! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It takes more than one person and lots of room to assemble. Just getting the box into the house was a nightmare, and the pieces were all stuck together (some of the metal from the bottom piece bent and was attached to the side pieces, what a pain in the butt). Once assembled, it didn’t seem super sturdy, all the pieces don’t seem to fit properly, but it is somewhat stable, and HUGE. Way bigger than I expected it to be, and VERY heavy. I have a coonhound, and he can easily maneuver inside. He went in and fell asleep the first night, so, the dog likes it.

I purchased this crate for its size and it is fantastic. I wanted our 75lb dog to have room to stretch out. I like the additional height for a roomy feel for her and also it is easy for me to have access to wipe off the floor pan. It is very well made and surfaces that are accessible to dog are smooth and safe. I had an issue with some damage that occurred in-transit and the customer service from the manufacturer was excellent.

I rarely write a review, but after buying a couple of crap dog kennels off of classified adds and having them not work out at all, I chanced buying another one in the same price range here on Amazon and crossed my fingers that it was sturdy for the price. I was so surprised at the quality and sturdiness of this giant kennel. I have an English mastiff and if she doesn’t want to be in a kennel, she will break her way out. This one is doing a great job of keeping her in but also because it’s so roomy she hasn’t tried breaking out. I’ve been very pleased and it’s been 2 weeks. I put it together with my daughter and it was super easy. It’s not a pop up kennel so you do have to assemble it.

This arrived yesterday and I put it together right away to put it to use. I have a fairly large American Bulldog mix and the first time he walked on the floor pan it cracked in several places. The cage part of the kennel seems sturdy and easy to put together but the floor pan is clearly made of the wrong plastic. These sort of cracks could end up causing injury to your pet.Update: After contacting the supplier via email (which I was not able to do through Amazon, I had to go to their website to do so) they requested that I send photos and a copy of my receipt and then they shipped a new floor pan. It did not crack immediately like the first one. Waiting to see how it holds up over time.

Why purchase 3 crates for a Great Dane puppy? This sturdy crate assembled in about 15 minutes with one person (although they do recommend two). Measure and cut a piece of plywood and drill holes at the top and bottom corners, then one in the middle. With two doors (front and side), sliding the plywood into the crate is a snap (pro tip – install the floor first DOH). Then zip-tie the plywood using the aforementioned holes about 1/3 of the way from the front door. Now you have your puppy crate. On her/his first birthday you can move it back to the 2/3 position for your adolescent Dane. In no time, she’ll be large enough for the entire crate. No issues with retraining a new crate or what to do with the small ones.

This extra large dog crate is very very solid with heavy duty wire. Unlike a lot of the smaller channels that have a lighter Duty wires. Wii Fit a 200 pound English Mastiff inside of ours and both of us adults can still get in there with her. If you have any doubt that this will not be big enough for any dog out there think again. This is the kennel or even the largest of breed dogs! You won’t find a finer kennel than this anywhere. It’s literally big enough for people can sit in there comfortably! That’s for grown adults! And even large enough for two full size 200 pound English Mastiffs comfortably. You can’t go wrong with this kennel! Very impressed

I have a GSD/Cane Corso as well as a pit bull I used to kennel together in a large dog crate when the big one was a pup. We needed something bigger as he matured. Unfortunately as much as we tried to kennel them separately we also ended up with a very mangled kennel. The GSD didn’t do well by himself. This kennel takes a lot of room however, they both have plenty of room to lay and stand! I put this kennel together while my arm was in a cast. It wasn’t hard to put together to say the least. It is a pain to try to move without disassembling so, it’s in a permanent location.
B Kelly –
This crate is large enough for the Mastiff to stand up without hitting the top of the crate. Plenty of room to turn and sleep. It is heavy duty the dog will not be injured by broken wires. The crate is made of heavy gauge steel rods. The crate will keep the Mastiff safe and make her successful. The only negatives are it is very hard to move for vacuum cleaning and it is large and takes up a lot of space in my living room.If you are not putting this in your living room there are no negatives.

I love Midwest crates and have them in a variety of sizes since I do a lot of fostering. As others have commented this is a huge crate, which is exactly what I needed for a Great Dane foster, but if you are housing a smaller dog, you could go down a size as you don’t need the height this crate provides unless you have a giant breed. The crate arrived in good shape and went together easily, but I’ve put together crates with the corner pegs before. You just have to make sure everything is lined up properly and have something nearby to rest one side if you are doing it by yourself, which I always am when putting it together. You also need some space to lay the one side down as you hook it into the base properly. The crate is sturdy and my Great Dane foster was happy to go inside and curl up and sleep on his blanket. The height made it easy for him to walk in without bumping his head, which prevented him from wanting to go into another crate I had a size down from this one. Fantastic product for crate training Giant breed dogs.

Exactly what we needed for our 10 year old 200lb rottweiler who was having turning around in his XL crate due to arthritis and age. Couldn’t find anything near us that was any bigger than what he had, so when I found a crate by Midwest (who we love!) that was large enough to house a lion, we thought it was worth a try. Not only is it plenty big for him to now lay out on his side, its it far more stout than his previous crate (not a midwest). Because of the length of the side spans, I did add some zipties to help add additional strength along the top of the crate. (You know inevitably someone is going to throw stuff on top of the crate). Other than the fact that it looks like we have some sort of Jail in the living room, its exactly what we were looking for. Well Done Midwest!

The directions aren’t clear on how to put it together, and we certainly didn’t expect it to come in pieces that had to be assembled. We expected it to be like every other kennel we have ever ordered before In my lifetime that has minimal assembly, but it’s pretty much together once it gets here. Not to mention it came bent in a few places in transit which made it even more complicated. I’m not extirt happy with this item, and if I had it to do all over again I would shop else where for one.

When they say this crate is Ginormous they are not joking. My 150lb great dane looks NORMAL SIZED in this crate, and can lay down and fully extend his legs while sleeping. I thought it was a joke when I read the package weights 90-100lbs, and they were not wrong. The UPS man must have completely given up, as it arrived at my house in a destroyed box barely held together with several layers of packing tape on the corners. Several pieces of the crate were bent with a crate, but I was able to straighten them out in 5 minutes with a pair of pliers. My dog is relatively lazy (he’s a great dane, I don’t know what I expected) so I didn’t have to worry about zip tieing the edges together as some other people mentioned, but I will admit the horizontal edges could use additional reinforcement IF you have a very escape-prone dog.

This is a great create. You need 2 people minimum to assemble and to move. You also need a large floor area to assemble, but it is a huge cage! I love the 3 latches which are nice and secure. I actually purchased this create for my Springer puppy who is housebroken, but too young to leave alone in the house for too long. We have a beautiful wood doors and I don’t want them scratched. She also has been able to escape from the laundry room, so I need something more secure. This creat is great and gives her room to play. I would definitely recommend this cage!

This thing is a monster! It comes if pieces which is great because it’s super heavy and we had to get it upstairs in our house. It came stuck together though which was a bit difficult but we got it separated eventually. It definitely takes two adults to put this together! It’s very sturdy one assembled and they assembly itself isn’t difficult at all. Myself and my 10 and 8 Year old put together. If you have a Great Dane or another horse of a dog this is a great kennel for tall and thick pups!

Nice once it is assembled but no instructions and I dare say not everyone could figure out how the bottom connects to the sides without bending the connections which would be incorrect. We turned it upside down to assemble it and it took two of us about an hour. Would have been so much better if there were instructions included for assembly. Could not even find a video on youtube which is unusual. I wish someone would make one for other people to know how to do this. The bright side is we put a innerspring crib mattress in and there was still room to spare. My German Shepherd is an extra large one and just a puppy and growing and the old crate was looking cramped. She is liking this one so much better and loves her bouncy bed. It does take up a lot of room. We are calling it her condo.

Package appeared intact but once we opened the box the pan had a 3’ long crack. Since everything is back ordered, I do not have the time to rebox this massive crate and wait for a replacement. Tried to make do until we discovered many bent and damaged hooks. My husband had to readjust so many hooks to make this a safe and secure crate. Had to order a new pan for another $50. Unbelievable.I bought this product 10yrs ago, non issue. Completely disappointed this go around.

HUGE ; probably bigger than you really want.It did NOT come with setup instructions, but luckily there is a instruction video (https://youtu.be/PAIoXX8SK9M). They suggest it’s a two person task, but i did it on my own twice. Once you learn how, it’s very easy. You will need a big area though because a wall and floor both need to start flat, then you may slide it around to do the second wall. (remember it’s huge?) My dog did grind her claw to bleeding on a hook twice, but she has settled down since. You may need to rig some type of protecting covering over the hooks if your pet has separation anxiety — maybe tape, maybe padding.

First let me say product arrived smashed on corners and bent and packaging half ripped off. I called manufacturer and they said I could send back but i needed the cage ASAP. So they gave me a discount and I kept it. Husband was able to hammer corners and bend back to close to straight to be able to put together. I Have extra large Great Dane and he has tons of room. He can lay sideways and still not touch sides. Easy to open and shut. We use daily and have been for several months and still works like new!

I bought 3 of these for 3 large German Shepherds. Not only are they HUGE but they hold up well and we actually designed our dog houses based on this size. They do not seem like they will hold up but they do and my dogs are HUGE and strong, and they jump around in them. They are rough and these cages hold up to them. The trays are strong as well. They was easy. They are VERY simple to put together. They are very well worth EVERY penny!!!!

It is large enough for my 11 month old Presa Canario and sturdy enough to keep him safe. (He’s 120 lbs and 30″ tall). It took a while for my husband and I to put the crate together. You need quite a bit of space to put it together because you have to lay some of the pieces flat next to each other. Some of the bars are slightly bent, so we had to use pliers and a claw hammer to aid in putting the crate together. Aside from the assembly, it’s a good purchase.
Boston Lovah –
This is a BEAST of a crate. Our great Dane pup is only 4 months old and already outgrew the crate we had for our other large breed dogs. I am so happy with this purchase. When does that ever happen?! It was a little tricky putting together you need two people but it wasn’t to bad. This is well made, very sturdy crate. The doors have 3 latches that are tough not flimsy. Also the price- I saw this same one for more money at my local pet store. Our guy will grow into this in no time but for now he is loving the extra large GINORMOUS accommodations. A++++++ on this one.

In the past I have purchased x-large crates for each of my Rottweilers. They were able to lay down and were not lacking space to move. However one has been nicknamed Houdini because he has been able to break out of every crate I’ve ever purchased. I had to use zip ties on every corner and clips to hold the door closed because he would find a way to push his way out or pull at the welded metal until it came apart. Since buying this crate he has not even made an attempt. It is big and roomy and he clearly enjoys the extra space. This crate may not be as convenient to move, does not fold closed like the x-large crates and it definitely takes up more space but I wish I would have purchased this crate sooner. It would have saved me lots of money over the years.
Shirley Stiles Elkins –
Had these crates years ago when I owned great danes. I don’t like the folding crates so even though I didn’t need one this tall I went ahead and got it because it was the only non folding I could find. It’s still a great crate. One of the top hook on the end panel that is for the top to hook under was bent and can’t be bent back, but I’m not using the top anyway so that was only a minor annoyance.

I have a Great Dane puppy that is now 9 months old. He fits in here, along with me. He has plenty of room to stand up, move around, turn around, and lay in positions I can only assume are comfortable for him.The shipping packaging came all scuffed up, partially ripped, had some pieces of metal showing. The set up takes two people… Maybe one but good luck. The pieces came bent and wouldn’t “snap” together very easily but with a hammer and maybe a screw driver and you can bend them back so it will slide together. All in all, it works well for my growing pup. I have his stuff animals, a bed, comfort blankets, and a random toy or two and he is fine in it.

The overall cage is Okay. But I received a bottom pan that was ripped up (see photo) and the cage itself was bent. I can tell that this thing is severely used! I would not buy from them. The only reason why I am not asking for a refund because it’s more of a hassle to take it down and put it back in the box. It is not worth the money at all!!!
Billett –
As others have mentioned my crate was delivered in the original packaging which is understandable because the box is huge. Problem is the pan had a large hole in it from what looks like a forklift fork, many of the rungs in the sides were bent, one of the hooks to keep the pan in place had bent clean off, and it just had a lot of general scratches and gouges all over the place. As far as the actual crate goes it’s extremely large and our growing Dane fits in it with room to spare. It doesn’t seem well designed so the sides all flex quite a bit away from the floor and ceiling panels. I’ll probably zip tie some sections together better, but I shouldn’t have to for this much money. I’ll update in the future with how well it actually holds up to a 10 month old 130lb small horse!

Finally my dog has a kennel he can stand up straight in! He’s an 8 month old Great Dane and he jumped in as soon as I had it built before I could even put his bedding in. Then cage is so big he looks small. He’s about 90 lb. in the photo. If you find your swaying make sure you follow the directions for inserting the support pins. I had done the over under wrong and when fixed it was very solid. Love the 2nd side door so I can put it length ways into the room. I put it together alone but it would be easier with a partner! Darker photo was how big the box was.

IF YOU NEED A BIG (BIG!!!) STURDY CAGE, THIS IS THE CAGE! I HATE CAGES, BUT I NEEDED ONE TO CONFINE OUR 115 POUND NEWFOUNDLAND PUPPY, TO KEEP HIM QUIET, DURING HIS HEART WORM TREATMENT. I had rescued our boy from a horrible ‘back yard breeder’ and the poor guy came with heart worms. He had to be kept ‘quiet’ during his treatment. Ever try to keep a 115 pound puppy quiet? So, restricting his movements became necessary. This cage was perfect. Strong, two entrance choices, huge; big enough for our boy to stretch out and lay down, stand up without hitting his head and still small enough so he couldn’t run. The cage is even large enough for our 150 Great Dane to stand up in, sit in, and sleep in, though we don’t use the cage any more, except to give our now 125 Newfie puppy a 10 minute ‘Time OUT’ when he gets too boisterous in the house (chasing cats, etc.). This is a huge, strong, well made cage! If you need one, THIS cage is it!!!

Hey Dog Owners! So I bought this crate because our golden retriever is getting real huge now. She’s outgrown her large dog crate (rated for dogs up to 90 lbs). I’m about to start a new job and so she’ll need to be crated for longer periods of time during the day. The old crate is just too cramped, so we’re hoping this one will be more comfortable for her during her long crate times. So far she seems to like it just fine.Anyway, after reading a ton of reviews on this product, I decided to go with it despite some issues because I felt I could mitigate most of them with pliers and other tools.I was just mostly concerned with the Bottom Pan not being cracked, which fortunately it wasn’t.However, as with other customers, the overall crate came with a lot of bent pieces: mostly the hooks that the sides would fit into. Also, there is a missing hanger on the Front Door Panel (image 1). It’s not a show-stopper but come on, really?I was still able to secure it to the rest of the crate Side Panels. But speaking of Side Panels, as you can see in image 2 the intersecting loops of one of them (at the top) do not line up with the loops on the Back Panel. This made for a pretty wonky fit that had me forcing the Corner Rod through the remaining loops while giving up on the top loop of the Side Panel.I took a few scrapes to the hands while doing this.Overall, I’m not motivated to return the crate—can’t imagine trying to repack this behemoth. But, it really isn’t a laser precise piece of engineering.I’m overlooking these minor nuisances because I don’t have the time to address them and they are not show-stoppers interfering with the functionality of the crate. My advice is know what you’re getting into with this one. It’s just too darn big to reliably ship in perfect condition. And it’s just too imprecisely assembly-lined constructed to assume that everything will fit together swimmingly.Other than that, as long as the Bottom Pan is not cracked, you and your oversized pooch should get along with it fine—minus a few scrapes along the way!

Based on the reviews, I thought I could put this together myself. No way. For starters, all of the pieces were looped together in a way that we couldn’t separate the pieces as shown in the instructions. My husband had to bend the hooks to take it apart which was no easy feat. After that it was relatively easy to assemble. This cage is huge but I guess it needs to be for a Great Dane!

Just what my Boy needed!!! At only 10 months old? My Boy couldn’t even sit up straight in the Large Cage I’d had for years from Midwest. So where to turn for a bigger cage? Midwest of course! He now has plenty of headroom when sitting up and more than enough room to lay and stretch out. Easy to assemble and no regrets in this purchase. Only Con? Wish this had been designed in same Fold and Carry / Sore Away design that Large had been.

Does the job. Got for our pit pups. It is big so remember that it Gomes in panels and u need room to put together. Not hard to assemble would recommend two people to help hold sides and line stuff up. Pups are now 6 months. Holds them but I noticed when they get excited they can almost rock this cage and when they jump up on side panels they have a little more give them I figured it would have. Would recommend

This crate is just huge. Like I mean huge. It was perfect for my great dane(R.I.P). He love this crate and had tons of room for him to stretch out in. Yes he had separation anxiety but he never did hurt himself in this crate. He did learn how to get out of it sometimes. But overall it was sturdy and easy to assemble.

Y’all. This crate is huge. Clearly the dimensions are listed but I just didn’t have any concept of how large it would really be. All the crates in the stores were too short for my still growing 8 month old GSD so even though it’s large I don’t regret this purchase. If your large dog is well trained (and potty trained) the 54 inch should work for them. The sturdiness was alright. I expected a bit more but for the price I think it’s reasonable. My major complaint was packaging. They put a long piece of styrofoam in it and it was DEMOLISHED. Little pieces were everywhere, and we had to vacuum every piece individually to get it all out.

We bought this for our Newfoundland, a 110lb, 1 year old female. This kennel could fit two of her right now easily if we wanted to. I underestimated how large this product would be even though I used a measuring tape before purchasing. It stands about 4 feet tall and almost 5 feet long (my guess). It’s enormous. It’s a high quality product. We love it, the dog loves it- everyone is happy. I love the two doors (one on the side and one on the front) so we can position it which ever way we want to.

I purchased two of these crates for my two Great danes and I am so happy I did. The instructions were difficult and so was putting it together, it’s not like your normal little crate but once I figured it out it was easier. Make sure you assemble it where you want it because it is BIG and there will not be any moving it. It seems really sturdy and my danes love it so far, definitely recommend for large/giant breed dogs!

It is what they say it is…. VERY BIG! FedEx could handle it better, as the box arrived a little damaged and the corners of the cage were bent…. But the cage is …. Well…. Way more than we expected

Great kennel, very sturdy, easy to assemble, way sturdier than the $250 kennel of the same size I bought (and returned) from Petco. Took about 20 mins to assemble. Would have probably been faster had my dad let me finish reading the directions out loud rather than just saying “i know how this goes” and throwing parts together. Definitely recommend 2 ppl putting this together although it can be done with one.

This crate is gigantic!!!! We have an English Mastiff who has gotten out of everything and this is working so well for her. She can spread out, walk around, even play with a toy. Other reviewers have noted how hard it is to put together. Honestly, on a scale of 1-10, our baby crib being the WORST, this was like a 5. It was slightly frustrating that the company couldn’t include directions and we had to Google them (the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5), especially for the money paid, but all in all it took two of us 30 minutes to put it together. Not bad! This thing felt pretty sturdy, but we reinforced the joints with zip ties, just because this dog is so tricky!I really love this crate and would buy it again.

Wow so these crates are ginormous! I hate crates, we all do but not this one. My puppy cane to me house trained. But at 8 weeks old I wasn’t comfortable leaving him to his accord at night. I put him in the crate and he has plenty of room to play and run. I even hung potty bells on it to make sure he kept up the association and would ring the bell if he needed to potty at night. It works! He’s three months old now and still does great and I don’t have to feel bad locking him up at night! By the way, this crate is heavy duty and should last at least through his lifetime.

You will never need another cage unless you own an actual bear! I have a Saint Bernard puppy and wanted to get him a cage he will grow into and have room to move around when fully grown. He has that room and more. It was a great buy and the great thing is, I won’t have to buy another as he grows. I’m not kidding when I say this thing is huge. It was pretty easy to put together and also easy to clean. Some of the eyes came bent, but that was an easy fix. I would say I would buy again, but I don’t think I will need to. lol

We have a dane and a daniff. They sleep in the kennel opened and they are kenneled if I have to go into town. so…. closed kennel not too often but yes kennel trained. This kennel houses them comfortably! They had two separate smaller kennels before and constantly tried to go to the same one. THIS! solved many problems. Took only a few min to assemble. wires have yet to bend (the smaller ones did too easily). maneuverability- cannot take on road trip unless you have a trailer, but I assembled in one room not thinking, hand to disassemble to take it to other side of the house, but quick and easy to do so, move, and set back up.

My Dane loves it – I love it! It is HUGE – but that is what a giant breed owner needs. It is not “portable” in any sense of the word unless you don’t mind tearing it down and hauling the HEAVY thing around. A crate this big that needs to be strong and safe is going to be heavy and difficult to move around. Granted, I can move it to vacuum and dust behind no problem [on carpet], but I would not consider it something I could just take with me to visit someone. You might – I don’t.I drape warm blankets over the top and sides for winter warmth and privacy for him, and have a great big bed in it that he loves. Come about 8:00, he gets up from where he is and saunters into the crate, flops down and passes out for the night. He loves it, I love it – you will love it.

This thing is huge!! It is an awesome value for the price. Exactly as expected. No way you could get a monster cage like this from a store for around $130. It was very easy to put together. Maybe 30 minutes and that was because we had to move some furniture. For being so big it feels sturdy. Ours came without defect, no sharp wire or anything that I read in previous bad reviews. Make sure you measure the space to put it before you order it. We have a smaller home and this is an eyesore. But so worth it to know our 8 month old great pyrenees puppy has plenty of room to stand up, turn around, and sprawl out sleeping on his back like he likes. We are impressed and hopefully it will hold up through the years.

I got the xxl for my mastiff. It is huge but he needs it that big. I have low ceilings and put this together myself. It was a pain in the butt. I had to keep laying it on the side, put another side on, them flip it over and keep doing that. Definitely get someone to help put it together.Other than that it is very sturdy and well constructed. The xxl is not one that can easily be moved. I’m sure the smaller ones will be fine.

Couple of steps could have been clearer but otherwise went together easily, took both of us. Great quality and perfect size for our growing Great Dane. Bought the divider panel, easy to install and just what we needed. Added a toga mat under the tray to stop it from banging against the cage underneath every time the dog gets in and out, easy fix. Sturdy doors and latches. Highly recommend for ginormous dogs.

If the hooks weren’t broken and bent, assembly would have been 15 minutes instead of 1.5 hours. Sturdiness is as described. Due to broken hooks, the entire crate is lop sided and a huge gap in multiple places. Packaging was completely broken and ripped, but broken pieces were not in the box. I’m assuming they must’ve fell out considering the size of the packaging holes. Delivery was careless. Deliveryman dropped the package at my house loud enough for me to hear inside my house. As I opened the door and shouted at the man to come back, he proceeded to his truck. But this is getting more into overall review. If I could rate the item more accurately in my case, I’d give it a 5/10.

Whatever you do don’t try to assemble this with anyone you care to continue a relationship with. I’m quite sure the designer of this product has stock in divorce attorneys. You can not assemble this indoors unless you live in an open loft or have not yet moved in any other furniture. You can not assemble it outside because it will not fit through doorways… It’s sturdy enough but maneuverability and assembly are nightmares.
J.P. –
Firstly, make sure you know exactly how big this crate is. I would recommend marking out the dimensions so you can get a visual. And make sure you assemble it where it is going to stay because most likely it won’t fit through any doors once assembled. That being said, the crate is a good size for my still-growing 120 pound 7-month old Great Dane puppy. It was delivered promptly and the awkwardly large box was in good condition. The crate was delivered very quickly and the price was the best I could find after extensively searching the Internet.Unfortunately, several areas on the crate’s panels were bent. Some loops that the drop pins had to go through were bent so that they didn’t line up. I had to use a small prybar to fix them. Other panels had areas that were bent as well and the door is bowed slightly, making lining up the locks a bit tricky. Fortunately I was able to correct a few bends with my prybar and some elbow grease. Repackaging this monstrosity to return would not have been worth it. To top it off, the included instructions were for THE WRONG ITEM! They were for the outdoor play- enclosure. Thankfully, MidWest has its assembly instructions online because the panels need to be assembled in a specific order. Now that it is assembled it is certainly doing the job I purchased it for: keeping our Dane puppy from eating our couch while we are at work. It is big enough that he can stand even with a thick cushion under him and can easily turn around and even stretch out a bit.I am content with this purchase now but it certainly could have been better.

Larger than I thought actually, taller than I expected. It will fit my 2 German Shepherd pups for a long time and that’s what I need. They will be big boys when fully grown and won’t need a crate, it’s just while they are growing and being trained. They are very active boys and this crate is perfect.

This cage has 2 doors and is big enough for the largest of dogs. My cat is confined for 8 weeks and I wanted something I could get into without too much trouble (to clean the littler box multiple times – not because I want to hang out in a cage). After opening the box, getting the pieces apart was infuriating. It took two of us, some brute force and lots of trial & error. The pieces were all locked together. You really need two people to get it apart, and you need 2 people to get it together. I tried both myself and had to ask my son for help after uttering a long stream of curse words.

This is HUGE! Our 80 pound boxer lab fits in it quite comfortably with room left over for my 6’3” husband. It took the 2 of us less than an hour to put it together and it wasn’t too hard to figure out. Definitely a 2 person job however. So far it seems pretty sturdy…Winston hasn’t tried to chew it up. Probably need to get something under it so the wires don’t scratch the floors.

I bought this for my dogs, they always try to sleep together in their kennel but are way to big to both fit. Last night was the first night and they sleep sound until we go up for work to take them out and feed them. This kennel is HUGE, personally I didn’t need the height but the length and width are perfect for space. I set mine up alone (not that it really matters but I am a female) definitely would have been easier with two hand on deck but was totally do able alone, it is just very big, you also want to set up in and area with lost of space and unless you have a large or double doorway it will not fit through to another room via a reg doorway.

This crate is much bigger than I expected. It’s a great value proposition for the size.It comes with installation instructions and they are necessary. Assembly can be a bit trying, but just keep at it and it’s doable. Pay very close attention to the instructions and follow them to the tee. There were a couple of points that tested my patience (when combining the top with the sides you have to keep the hooks on the outside but the L shaped metal on the inside…that was tricky) but eventually I got it. My guess is that in 10 to 15 years a product will exist that is far easier to install. My only issue with the crate itself is that the top of the crate appears to be bent in a bit in the middle. It just looks a little funny if you stare at it but functionally it works perfectly.

My Service-Dog-in-Training, Zuzu, a Great Dane, has a lot of space to move around now. In the photo she is still a puppy and around 65-75lbs. It is much wiser and cost effective to buy the largest crate and the inserts to remove for when your pup grows. Don’t be like me and go up a crate every time especially if you have a giant breed as I’ve gone through about 4 different crates since July and it is now October. She was content with her smaller ones but as she’s working on Public Access I don’t take her everywhere and I felt bad having her stuck in something smaller when I’m out.For anyone with physical disabilities, or a disability that makes you tired easily, you will need a second or third person to help. My poor mail person must’ve struggled as I had to have my neighbor assist me to get it inside as well as my roommate help carry the pieces(doesn’t come pre-assembled thank god) with getting the parts up our stairs. I was able to assemble it alone though it did take me several hours. The instructions were pretty clear but you need about 6-7ft of room if you follow them. I used a wall as my second “person”. Having arthritis/fibromyalgia(not what she is training for) did make it extra difficult for me but I’m proud of the results, even if putting together IKEA furniture would have been more pleasurable, lol.

So this is probably bigger than some prison cells located around the world. We got it for 2 dogs who will be medium-large sized when full grown. Right now they are about 25 lbs each and I can go into the crate and lay down with them. They have plenty of room to move which is really nice. For even the biggest of dogs, this should work.

I have a 7 month old (125lb) Great Dane puppy he is a bit of a hell raiser while we are gone a work since everything is in his reach. So this is great he has plenty of room inside and can not eat everything withing his reach which is everything. Cage is sturdy and well build latches easy and hold secure.Instructions were ok.(Not a review on the product but it was dropped in shipping denting the corner really bad. I was able to bend it mostly back into shape. But I needed the cage so i didn’t return it.)

Holy moly, this thing is ginormous! But, it does fit my 90 lb Great Dane. She’s just too tall for other XL cages so I had to order this one. Honestly, this is a bit big for her, but it’s the only one I could find that fit her (and I could even put my 30 lb Beagle in there with her and they both would have plenty of room). You need 2+ people to put it together. It is a pain in the ass to assemble but once you figure it out.. it’s a breeze. Now that she is house trained, I’ll be looking to get rid of this bulky cage. It did it’s job when I needed it and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others who have giant breeds.

So my Great Dane is only half dane, so she’s 85lbs. I bought it thinking it would give her more room than her current cage did. This was WAY bigger than I planned on. But to be honest, she loves it. She, and sometimes our kiddos, hang out in there. You could easily crate 2 Full Blooded Danes in there. I had to rearrange our dining room to fit this in and it is NOT portable at at all, which is fine because I never intended to move it. Its a lot of cage for your money, just know that it’s HUGE.

We needed this kennel for our Great Dane after major surgery to prevent her from straining herself and ripping open her stitches. The kennel itself looks like it would work really well. The unfortunate part is that the kennel we recieved had broken and bent parts when it arrived. We were still able to make it work as a kennel but in the current state I’m disappointed in what I recieved. I have reached out to their customer support and left a voice-mail to see if I can receive replacement parts for the sections that were broken upon arrival. If they aren’t able to send replacement parts I plan on returning the Kennel. If this kennel arrived in better shape I would rate this product much higher. The only comment I have is some of the internal parts are pretty sharp and could have been ground down better to prevent any potential cuts. O

a complete HASSLE to put together.parts were bent, broken and or just not even there right from when we took it out of the box.I’m sure the bent/broken pieces were from the UPS man because the package was tore way up !love how tall it was, but wish it was just a little bit wider.

We needed a relatively sizable crate for our rapidly growing great dane. This is a very comfortable crate for our purposes. Our dog enjoys the space & we cover it with a blanket to help her feel more secure. Now, assembling the crate is another story. It came with easy to follow instructions however, the sheer size and weight of the metal sides makes assembling quite challenging. You will need more than 4 hands to get this done quickly and to get it done correctly. We went through many iterations of assembling before it the pieces say properly on each other. It’s quite sturdy but again this will depend on the correctness of assembly. Once assembled, this is not an easy crate to move around if you’re in a situation with limited space. So make sure you know where exactly you want it to be before you begin assembly.

Easy assembly, best with two people due to size. Sturdy wire, thicker than smaller crate wire. Tray quieter material than our previous crate. For 1 yr. Old English Mastiff mix, 120 lbs and growing. He Loves it and doesn’t mind going to bed now. He can stand up in his crate and sprawl out when sleeping. It is Very Large and TALL. Perfect to keep our 4 legged family member in living room with family and keep our kids snacks safe from him when needed during the day. Great buy. Best price I found and sturdy enough to stand up to our rambunctious BIG baby!

Omg this thing is a nightmare. Box is huge and the pan came broken. Styrofoam got everywhere because it basically crumbled inside the box. The crate is all tangled up together and difficult to assemble. I had to call the manufacturer to order a new pan and then they told me to dispose of the old one?? Umm… okay how do I do that?? I will have to pay to take it to the dump. I’m regretting getting this and I’m sweating my ass off right now just getting it out of the box. Def a two or three person job.

This was very hard to put together. It was head to move but that was to be expected it is very large. however the door and crate did. it align not sure if bent in shipping. too hard to put together and take down, we are healthy middle ages couple, maybe for younger people who have more patience. never move it. we are selling it.

This cage can fit a small horse, its huge so make sure to measure and be sure you have the space for it. This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to make sure my growing puppy would have enough room to walk and lay comfortable even when he grew full size. He’s a cane corso and I was not sure how big he was going to be. This cage is also tall so even a great dane could stand inside the cage, which is great. Honestly the best investment was getting this cage. Even with obedience training he was a terror as a puppy when home alone. He started eating everything, even ate through the wall one day and would eat his weewee pad and do all kinds of bad things. Would come home to a mess everyday until I got this cage. He literally stopped peeing and pooping and rolling in it and began holding it till I got home since his first day in the cage. I couldn’t believe what a difference. I loved that there was enough room to have his toys and even a bowl of water and a bowl of food. I really can’t recommend cage training enough, especially for a puppy. You might not need this exact size but there were other sizes available.
Brittney L. –
Great price for the size. The unboxing and taking pieces apart was super hard! Overall would buy again. We have a cane Corso and he has plenty of room to run around in it. Do not feel bad forHis kennel time now. Never believed in kenneling until we got this massive cage

I purchased one of these for my Great Danes when they were younger. I would like to have a folding crate for them, but, haven’t been able to find one due to the size of the crate. This crate is extremely sturdy, which is excellent. However, assemble it where you want it, because once it’s assembled, it’s very difficult to move.I purchased a second one of these crates for my Danes so that they could each have their own space now that they are each over one year old and they love to nap in their beds. You will need a partner to help with assembly of the crate, but it assembles quickly. Cleaning of the crate is easy as well. I recommend these crates.

Finally a crate that Fits our Great Dane! We have shopped around for the perfect crate since we brought our boy home at 6 weeks old. Every “HUGE” crate we looked at was a disappointment. At 7 months old and 130 lbs we finally ordered this and hoped for the best. Assembly took about 10 minutes and could have been done easily if the instructions were missing. We couldn’t be happier with the size and quality of the crate. He can stand up fully and his cropped ears don’t even touch the top *yet ????*. Also a side note, the plastic floor liner feels much thicker and better quality than every other crate we’ve encountered. If you have a tall dog this crate is a must have.
Googs –
This product is really nice. It is larger than I thought it would be, with plenty of stretching space for our dog, possible even putting both our dogs in it. We have a Anatolian/ Great Pyrenees mix, and in total he will reach around 100-120 lbs.Unfortunately, the product arrived defective. The bottom part of the cage was all bent up, and we had to bend out some of the bottom wiring just to set it up. Then we had to bend more wiring in order to get the side door to open correctly.Overall, this is the reason they received 4 of 5 stars. It was shipped promptly and other than the bent wiring, the product is overall very nice and seems like great quality. I will recommend for sure to with caution as for the damaged product. We are not sure if the damage was from shipping or from the manufacturer.
