So first off, the packaging defiantly could be improved and yes the panels will likely be tweaked from shipping. But really what can you expect from such a massive box! It is difficult for one person to even manage a monster this size. Mine took about 20 minutes to unpack in an effort to minimize damage from tweaked and stuck panels. It does require laying the floor and both side panels out flat next to each other to assemble, and if you have a small area to assemble this could be an issue. I tried to assemble from common sense and quickly realized that there is a far more sinister way to put the kennel together. Save yourself the trouble and follow the diagram inadequate instructions to the letter. To the manufacturer: Please supply better instructions and pictures as I believe that would fix most complaints about assembly/flimsiness. Now for the cage; I have a miniature horse and she will definitely fit in this cage just fine. No joke. However, I also have a 115 lb shepherd cross that is 5-5 1/2 feet long(over 6 if you include his tail) and the floor area is perfect for him. It could be a foot less tall as this cage actually will block the lower part of most windows. The cage is NOT A FOLDER and in my opinion is weaker than our other cages that fold. To remedy this I will be adding zip ties. The plastic tray is very nice and came intact. At this time I am happy with the cage, but it has been only a couple days. I would rate it higher only based on price, maybe 4 stars at $150 and 5 at $120. As a welder myself I feel I could build a stronger cage from cattle panels for the same price, however I just don’t have the time to devote so I went with this solution. In conclusion, all kennels are going to be a compromise and if you have a dog(or maybe a small horse, lol) that is trained to a kennel then this should be fine and serve you well. Please remember that trained and “not escaped” yet are completely different. If you are even a little unsure if your dog is trained- it is not. I hope this helps someone out there.

Holy moly, this thing is ginormous! But, it does fit my 90 lb Great Dane. She’s just too tall for other XL cages so I had to order this one. Honestly, this is a bit big for her, but it’s the only one I could find that fit her (and I could even put my 30 lb Beagle in there with her and they both would have plenty of room). You need 2+ people to put it together. It is a pain in the ass to assemble but once you figure it out.. it’s a breeze. Now that she is house trained, I’ll be looking to get rid of this bulky cage. It did it’s job when I needed it and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others who have giant breeds.

I actually got this crate to temporarily house a feral cat that happened to wander around my house and I saw that he was not walking on one of his back legs. A trip to the vet revealed that he had a broken metatarsel. So I wanted to find as big a crate as I could to give the cat as much room as possible as he would have to be caged for a month to allow his broken bone to heal. Once healed i’ll take him back to the vet and get him neutered and set him back out into the wild. This crate is excellent. Very sturdy. And I love the double door access. In my situation this comes in really handy as with a feral cat he is very frightened and there is the possibility that he could scratch or bite. This cage allows me to access either the front so I can slip in food and water or the side so I can slide out the littler box, clean it and slide it back in without having to reach far into the cage possibly risking my own health or causing any damage to the kittys paw.You could definitely comfortably fit a very large dog such as a mastiff or great dane in this cage, it’s huge. Beware, it’s also very heavy! You’ll need someone to help you take it out of the box and set it up.

Most Kennels for Danes aren’t tall enough, this is not only tall enough but also provides enough space to turn around plus extra room! It comes with two doors so if your room doesn’t fit the kennel one way it’ll have options for another. It was a little bit of a headache to put together but due-able! P.S. this kennel will take up the majority of a room!

This is not a travel crate. Let me repeat that…this is not a travel crate. Just in case you didn’t get that, this is not a travel crate. That’s one of the big things I was looking for in a crate for my new Great Dane, Duke.Me and my ex had a Great Dane mix and had a crate about two sizes down. I can’t remember what brand it was, but I do remember it was pretty simple to fold up and take with us wherever we needed to go. The problem was that, if that dog got motivated, it could push through the seems and get out. Just not very sturdy. We ended up getting a size up and a better brand. Again, I can’t remember the brand, but it was much more sturdy (and much heavier). While it wasn’t a breeze to carry around, we could when necessary. It just took a little persistence. Here we are today. I miss my ex immensely, but that hell hound can go back to the depths from whence it came. I now have a full size Great Dane and the two other crates I’ve used are just too small. This is the largest I could find, and he fits in there easily. He’s much more well behaved than the Cujo reincarnate from my last relationship, so I can’t say whether or not my current dog could find his way out if he was really motivated. But I can tell by the build and how this one is put together that it would take a fresh pig femur coated in peanut butter to motivate my current Dane to even put a dent in one of the walls on this crate.Overall, I’m very happy with this crate. I wish I could take it with me so I could bring Duke with me to places he might not otherwise be welcome, but the size is perfect, the build is solid, and the price isn’t too bad considering how much crate you get.

In owning three German Shepards, it was time to upgrade their crate from a XL Kong to a more “luxury bedroom” where they can move and easily stand up without having the top of the crate being a barrier. This was a great buy because my dogs are able to move around more without the constant bumping in the side panels. The assembly for this crate is anything but easy. We had to have multiple people help and the directions weren’t always clear, thankfully there were pictures we were able to use to help assemble their new crates.

I have a 150lbs Great Dane that is still growing abs active. This ginormous cafe is bigger than I thought. Assemble where you want it because too wide and big to move it after! Learned the hard way Lol. You could fit a Great Dane like mine and 4 adults in it. Very sturdy. Instead of a dog bed (because I could not find one or even 2 to fit in it to be adequate) I used 2 queen comforters as a dog bed inside. Normally my dog did not like crating except for overnight lockup but this cage is so big he naps in it all the time and so do my cats! They all love it. Stands up to normal giant dog movement and play inside it too. Not a scratch on it, the wire poles look flimsy in the photos but are very strong. Quite impressed.

Make sure you have plenty of room for this dog kennel, taking the measurements before you buy it is one thing, actually seeing it put together inside of the house is quite another! Our 3.5 month old great dane puppy was starting to look a bit cramped in an older 36″ kennel we had. She still fit but looked very uncomfortable when she tried to stretch out and stand up. She looks so much more comfortable and has plenty of room to grow in this kennel.I read all of the horror stories about the condition people received their kennels in due to the size and weight so I was worried we would receive ours damaged too. Ours actually arrived in pretty good condition. The UPS man moved it around with a dolly and my husband wrestled it into the house. The box is huge and the kennel is very heavy. We sliced open the side and slid the kennel out. Everything is held together with white zip ties. A few of the panels were stuck together, but they were easy enough to unhook the side hooks from where they attached themselves.Putting this together was a bit of a chore, not because it was hard, but because it was big and bulky and there were two of us that insisted we knew what we were doing, so we argued over which way the panels should face, put them upside down a couple of times, then had to re-do them. This does come with a set of directions, but some of the pictures weren’t really that clear. The picture on the outside of the box actually gives you a better idea on how this all fits together. There were a couple of places where the wires were bent and we had to straighten them out with a pair of pliers. Also one of the side wires had a broken weld where it connects at the top, it was next to one of the bent hooks (corner area) so it had probably been set down a bit too hard at some point during shipping. It doesn’t seem like it will affect the kennel, and it doesn’t show so I’m not going to worry about it. I’m not too pleased about the side door of this kennel though. The top slide bolt latch did not slide into the holder that was welded onto the side. The holder had been welded a tiny bit too low (quality control should have checked this), we had to bend the tip of the sliding pin down a little so it would be able to slide into the latch. The side door also seems a little stiff to open and close, as if it is misaligned. We can still open and close the door though, and once shut it is very secure. There were also a few areas we had to straighten out so the drop pins could connect the corners.Once this is put together it really is very sturdy. It is not flimsy at all, we are actually pleased at how sturdy this kennel looks and feels. The bottom pan slides in and out smoothly, and I won’t worry about our dog spending time in the kennel while we are gone, or during the night. She loves the extra room and until she finishes growing she has plenty of room inside to sprawl out and play with all of her toys. The problem areas we found when this kennel first arrived were easy fixes, the completed kennel is large and strong. I checked around before I purchased this kennel and the price here was so much more reasonable than anywhere else, plus you get free delivery right to your house. If you have the room, and you have one of the giant breed dogs, then this kennel will be perfect.*Update 7/31/16- at 5.5 months old now our dane puppy is still growing. There is plenty of room in this kennel for her, her jumbo round Costco bed, and a stack of toys. She loves her crate! Our Aussie and the cats also love going inside to relax. Giant puppies can make giant messes, this crate is the perfect size for her and we are so happy that there is plenty of room inside for her to grow. No worries about her eating the couch while we are gone!

We bought this crate after our adolescent Newfoundland started thinking that our shoes and laundry room wall might taste good while we were at work. I read the dimensions on line before ordering but it didn’t really sink in until it arrived. This crate is humongous. We started calling it Miles’ addition to the house. Our 120+ lbs Newf, my husband, and myself can all sit in the crate together. It made me feel a lot better about having to crate our dog during the day because I knew he was safe and had a ton of room to move around. This was a great purchase and we are so happy we were able to find a crate to fit our dog and his needs at a reasonable price.

The crate arrived smartly packaged, delivered to instructions. However it took 2 adults to remove the packaging. Setup by one adult with the help of a large bed. The room would have been barely large enough completely empty to assemble per the instructions (minimum 11′). I found the clear instructions about weaving the hooks over/above each other vital.However. The bars are wide enough to allow even a large dog to grab a few and try to squeeze them together, the pan is much too small, the door panel curves away from the rest of the crate (convex bowing) leaving a gap, and the pan latch spontaneously releases, allowing the pan to slip out, leaving a large gap at the back for the dog’s foot to get caught.I have been trying to get a response from Midwest for a week now, all they have done is repeatedly request my personal information. The crate is really large, but the pan too small and defective items are not being addressed in a timely manner by Midwest. There is plenty of height for my 38″ (at the head) puppy, but I don’t see my neighbor’s adult male Great Dane fitting comfortably in this.I am dearly hoping a slightly narrower and sturdier crate built to tighter tolerances can be found, from a company that addresses any defects and safety hazards PROMPTLY.Midwest makes many great crates – based on my experience, this one does not measure up (so far?)

Initially was impressed by the product. It was huge and it gave room for my 120# Dane to move around and stay comfortable. That quickly changed. Within a week she had destroyed the tray that it came with. I had never had that issue with her other crate. I gave the company the benefit of the doubt, and bought a second tray. Nope, killed that one. Because she now had access to the carpet, she ate that all the way to wood. At this point she was starting to bend the metal and was working on killing the third tray. She had about 4 months of not destroying anything, and I thought she was over her puppy destruction stage. Came home yesterday to all the metal on the bottom bent. Welds broken through. I contacted the seller, this was a pretty expensive crate for falling apart so easily. It touts it’s for big dogs, and is strong enough to keep giant breeds safe. The seller contacted me back and said it was outside of 30 days. Well yeah, I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and kept buying replacement trays. My recommendation for a buyer is to spend the extra money and get a more solid kennel. This one isn’t strong enough to hold a giant breed, and if you have one, you know it’s only a matter of time before they break their crate.

This kennel is perfect for a Great Dane… but it definitely took 2 people to put together its so big… the kennel seems flimsy because when my Great Dane puppy (currently 70lbs) pushes against the walls of the kennel the whole thing shakes… but it stays together and for the price is worth it!! The kennel is so big and tall that it is like a huge piece of furniture (an eye sore piece of furniture). I would recommend because of the size… Minnie (my Great dane) can easily stand up and has ample space… she’s happy in it so I’m happy… would buy again!!

I have 2 dogs. 1 lab/pit mix (40 pounds) and 1 pit/Great Dane mix (70 pounds) my girls are inseparable. The cage is humongous. I didn’t think they made cages this call. For reference I’m 5’6 and it comes up to my upper chest. My dogs can lay out next to each other comfortably and jump up if they get excited and I don’t have to worry about my girls getting hurt. They didn’t like cages before but I put in blankets and now they will lay in the cage with their own free will. It’s a pricier cage but worth every penny. It’s very sturdy and heavy. You will need 2 people to assemble this. Maybe took us 30 minutes. I’m very please with the cage.

I bought this for my Great Dane and if you have a Dane you know how houdini-like they try to beand don’t want to be away from their people. My Very Big guy lounges in this along with his cocker spaniel buddy and their toys!It is a bit cumbersome, but as a senior citizen, I had no problem getting it together by myself. It just took energy and thought.I’ve seen cheaper crates that Danes have torn apart and gotten out of, but they can’t do thatto this one!

When I say this crate is huge, I mean it is HUGE! Unless you have a monster of a dog, Leonberger, Great Dane, Saint Bernard, etc, you will not need this. I have a German Shepherd and thought this would be nice for him to have some room to move around. While the plenty of room part was right, this crate was just too enormous for our needs. While the set up was fairly easy the crate does weigh a lot and help should be enlisted. To get an idea of the size of this crate I’ve attached a photo that captures its enormity perfectly. I ended up returning this because it was much too large for our needs, but would highly recommend this cage for those of you with larger breed dogs, or the need to lock up a German Shepherd, a corgi and a family of four.

We have (3) 5 month old standard size Austrailian Shepherd pups. They are rough, very active, playful and chewers. So far they have plenty of room to play, sleep & maneuver about in the crate. They have not chewed on it at all. We crate them when we leave the house and at night. The directions to assemble were off but we figured it out. It is heavy once assembled and takes (2) people to lift and move. I would suggest you put a big piece of carpet under it so you don’t scratch your floors. With the carpet,, It is lso easier to slide about so you can clean your floors. We are please with our purchase.

Holy cow! First, let’s get prepared for your delivery. Our box was wrecked. Mainly because of the awkwardness and heaviness of the cage. It took 2 of us to carry (slide) it in. Please have your vacuum and hose attachment ready because the Styrofoam was everywhere, it was jammed in between the bars to keep it from damaging itself but broke in lots and lots of tiny Styrofoam balls of hell. We have a small child that I honestly yelled at for licking toothpaste off the floor this morning so Styrofoam balls would seem like a fun appetizer to her and a er visit for us so be prepared to suck these balls up! Easy to put together(my teenage daughter did all the manual work honestly because that’s why I had children), sturdy enough for our 175 pound St Bernard. Very happy with price, shipping, quality and product!! The pic attached is a normal XL cage bought at Petsmart next to the cage purchased through this company.

This is a huge crate and just wait til you see the box it arrives in! If your kids (or you) like to play with boxes, this is the holy grail! In all seriousness, it was nice to find a crate that could finally fit my 120lb puppy. Sure, he could cram into smaller crates, but because he has hip dysplasia it was becoming more difficult and more painful for him to scrunch up in them. He can now stand, turn around, stretch out a bit and just be comfortable like he deserves.* Worth the price you ask?In my opinion, and especially in my situation, yes.* Other info? This is the third Midwest crate I have purchased and they have all held up well. The other two (smaller ones) are still in action. One used for another dog and the other for a bunny. They’ve held up well, so I expect nothing less from this giant crate.* Cons?- It is more flimsy than their smaller crates – but still plenty solid. When fully built it does sway just a bit, but up against the wall and with a blanket on top it is fine. You could also tighten it up with some zip ties if needed. (Midwest, if you’re reading this, a handy feature you could include are some velcro ties to tighten things up a bit – but still leave it portable. Let’s be honest though, no one is really gonna port this thing around.)* Considerations?- You do need a good chunk of space for this thing, but that’s gonna happen with any big crate.- The box is hard to dispose of (really, I’m not kidding.)- It is heavy and not easy to move. If you catch the UPS person maybe they can help you move it where you want?

Today I received my package and I was so excited because I have a Great Dane (still a puppy) and his cage was too small already, he hated being in it. I couldn’t find one of good quality for decent price till I ran into this cage. It arrived sooner than expected and the box was in good condition for the size and weight. It was a little hard to take pieces apart to assemble but once we got it together, it seemed really sturdy. This is our first day with the cage so I can’t give my input as to how long it lasts but it looks like it will last for a good while. This cage is the xxl 54″ and my Dane stands up perfectly in it, he was so happy to finally have a crate with enough space. So if you have a dog of this size, I definitely recommend this crate. Thank you to seller and mailman who handled the package with care. Just an FYI the my dog is bigger in person than what he appears in this picture (standing up he reaches 5′ 7″), the crate was so big that it made him look way smaller lol.

I had the next size down but ordered this one when I felt our labrador needed more room to stretch out. We also have the comfy foam curved pad and cover. It says it takes 2 people to assemble but I put it together myself by following the directions. I put a 4 for sturdiness just because it wobbles a little and maybe for a very big, rambunctious dog might not be the most sturdy. And a 4 for maneuverability once it’s assembled, it’s not that you can “maneuver” it much to move it anywhere without some help. Just assemble where you want it to stay. But, overall, I am very pleased with it and so is the pup.

Box was a bit damaged but it doesn’t explain hooks bent, etc. I put the crate together and it was flimsy. Hooks to lock the side panels did not connect. So it was moving around.I disassembled it but I can’t even get a refund. I did not keep the damaged box because I never had to return a crate EVER.Overpriced and the only explanation I thought of is that it was a return from someone else that I got.Gonna try to find a way to package it and get a refund from the crate from hell.Went to Petsmart and found a collapsing size crate for half the price and sturdy.Stay away.

This kennel is huge, it’s perfect for our Great Dane. It’s a great size and I love the fact that there are 2 doors. So putting it together is much easier with 2 people rather than one. The panels go together nicely but you have to either prop one side panel up against a wall while you hold the other side and then put the top on to hold the sides up. After that’s it’s not so bad to finish putting the ends on with one person. It’s a really sturdy kennel. As for maneuverability, unless you have wider door frames than standard, you can’t move this around without taking it apart – so if you’re keeping it inside, put it in the room where you plan to keep it!The only other negative is the way this thing is packaged – it is not packaged for shipping and the cardboard is very thin and not at all durable, and the styrofoam really doesn’t help much either. The first one I ordered I returned because it was very damaged and the box was practically coming apart in pieces, the 2nd one wasn’t in near as bad of shape but still had some bent pieces. All in all, this is a really sturdy and giant kennel and for the price it’s definitely worth it.

My cat needed some exploratory surgery. And needed to be prevented from jumping up on anything for two weeks time. So when I was working or out or at night into this kennel he went. It was more then large enough for a cat bed, full sized litter box, three different food bowls, and also a scratching post toy.It certainly locked securely enough to hold the cat in and was durable enough for that. I do think a determined dog who desperately wanted out of it could knock it apart. But I can’t verify that obviously. Also one of the pieces to put it together wasn’t properly cut. So I needed some snippers to fix it but that was only a moderate problem. The rubber insert that you’re supposed to pull out for cleaning is a little annoying to remove but that’s mostly just due to the large size. When assembling it other then the uncut section the only other issue I had was thinking that the side locking pin bars were missing as I thought they’d be in separate packaging. Instead they were simply already inserted. So if you seem to be missing those parts check things.Overall I’m quite satisfied with this product. It’s certainly big enough. And I’d happily buy it again. But it’ll certainly be interesting trying to get rid of it now that I no longer need it.

I was looking for a large crate for my 6 month, 61 lb Old English Mastiff, Tuni. When she was a puppy we bought her a 42 inch crate and recently it has been harder for her to get up and get out of it. She seemed uncomfortable in it and I hated putting her in it more and more. I was originally looking at at 48 inch crate but wasn’t sold that it was really big enough. During our first vet visit my vet said go out and find the largest crate you can get so that was the mission I ended up on and this crate is definitely BIG! For my Tuni it’s perfect. Because I have one dog who has to rest after eating to avoid throwing up I feed my dogs in their crates so it’s the perfect size to be able to do that. Tuni also drinks a lot of water so it’s plenty big enough to also keep water in as well. She has also gotten a hygroma on her elbow and I think that part of the reason she got that was due to the smaller crate…well that and she’s incredibly clumsy. Hopefully this larger crate will help with the healing since she can get around so much better in it. Overall it’s exactly what I was looking for.As far as assembly, it is a difficult job. You do have to have a lot of room to assemble it and I would assemble it in the room it will be residing as I don’t see it making it through many door jams. I would have preferred it be already partially assembled like other traditional crates but maybe it’s not possible or practical. My recommendation is to 1. Identify all your parts. I tried to put the top on as a side at first and got extremely frustrated. Had I properly identified the parts this wouldn’t have been an issue. 2. Watch the video! That helped significantly. I just YouTube instructions for a Midwest crate and up it popped. 3. Spend that extra few minutes to make any repairs to items that have been bent. My package came in good shape and really only had a few little repairs to make. Nothing major. I did have one hook that was in an odd and unusable location but I don’t think it actually made any difference in sturdiness. I’m a 40-something woman and was able to assemble it myself (I’m impatient) but think having some help would have been nice too. It only took me about 30 minutes once I watched the video and figured out my mistake.I read some people felt it wasn’t sturdy but my puppy doesn’t parkour in her crate. She really just chills (see photo). If you have a dog that jumps on the crate or shakes it then yes I would add tie straps and I may go back and do that but it seems pretty sturdy to me. Also if you don’t have a giant dog like a Mastiff, Great Dane, Newfoundland (and the other many dog breeds) you might feel it’s too big. It’s perfect for us and glad I took my vets advice to purchase the largest one I could find.Overall I went with 4 stars because it was a bit of a challenge to put together and it is hard to maneuver but I think it’s a great purchase and glad I got it before the price went up $40!

This crate is heavy duty in more ways than one. It is quite heavy and therefore not easy to move around, but the instructions are good and with another set of hands, very easy to figure out and assemble. The wire itself is about twice the size of smaller crates. My dog isn’t a crate buster, but I have the feeling if she were, the crate would contain her. It’s very tall and roomy. One of the best things about it is that it opens and closes VERY easily. You don’t have to pull up on one side while pushing on another. The latches just smoothly slide into place. If you need a crate for a big dog and you don’t plan to move it around, this is the one for you.

So the crate itself? Yes, it’s fine. As ginormous as they say. Seems sturdy enough. Not perfect, hence the 4 stars, but really really good, hence the 4 stars. But here’s the reason for this review: ASSEMBLY. I am one of the customers who didn’t get instructions with the 80lb box. So I got on here and found out “there’s a YouTube video”! Hurray! So I loaded up the video which was obviously professionally done and appeared to be from the manufacturers. It was very clear, done slowly and specifically, and therefore easy to follow. Except it wasn’t. Two and a half hours later, although it’s only 66 degrees in my house, I was in a total sweat, my blood pressure was through the roof, and I used up all my daily swears for the rest of the month. I took it back apart twice. After the second breakdown (the crate’s and my own), I remembered seeing a button on the product page here on Amazon claiming to be a PDF of the assembly instructions. Knowing I had nothing to lose but my health, I opened it up. It was an entirely different method of assembly from the video. Twenty minutes later, not another drop of sweat, and ba-da-bing! Done. The video said you HAD to have two people to put it together. I had just me. The printed (PDF) instructions made it easy to do on my own. (Note: Use a kitchen chair to hold one side up while you work on the other.) So if you didn’t get instructions, find the assembly PDF on the product page. If you did get the instructions, don’t go to YouTube to make it easier. Save your blood pressure. And your swears.

This is the best dog crate for your large breed dog, very sturdy and amazingly roomy! We have an English Mastiff and a Cane Corso and bought two of these. They can be hard to put together. One came a little banged up with some of the pieces a little bent, we had to manually push some of the connections around to get them back in place to get the crate to fit together, but once in place, the crates are awesome and we could not be more pleased! Just be prepared to possibly spend some time on assembly. While one of ours was bent a bit in shipping and took a while to assemble the other one came in good condition and assembly was much smoother.

We have a Great Dane puppy, 36″ tall and 152 lbs. Needless to say, he could not properly stand in the regular store bought crate for x-large dogs. This Ginormous crate it the answer! It is huge. It took 3 adults for put this together, but the result was worth it. Just be prepared for difficulty of assembly, and how heavy the package is. The instructions were perfect, thank goodness, or we really would have been beside ourselves. The dog does not have to duck to get in his crate, and the cat has claimed it for herself, although the two pets are NOT in there together or fur would be flying. Even with the hassle of assembly, it is worth the price. Sturdy, and will last. I highly recommend this crate for XXL dogs.

I have an 8 month old Great Pyrenees who chews up just about anything and everything when left alone. She is huge, but she still has plenty of room in this kennel. The kennel is truly gigantic. I am 5’4” and I can sit inside comfortably with my legs stretched out. She doesn’t try to escape or dig or anything so I cannot speak to how it holds up under those circumstances. You need to be sure you have a space large enough for it. It has quite the footprint. But I really like knowing that she is not crammed into a little kennel while I’m gone. Overall, I feel so much more confident leaving her at home…. given that I have been working from home since before I got her and currently I really only leave the house to pick up a grocery order. So she doesn’t use it often. But it gives me piece of mind all the same.

Our dog actually passed away while the crate was in transit so it was pretty emotional trying to get a return label from the 3rd party seller. This package is 87 lbs and they sent a USPS label to return it. USPS does not accept packages over 70 lbs. The seller we dealt with kept sending the same label and not responding when asked for another. Thankfully Amazons great service handled the process and we got to keep the crate free of charge. If we get another dog we will be prepared thanks to them. The crate itself is quite sturdy, and if you’re looking to fit your Great Dane it’s perfect. They aren’t going to be bouncing around too much anyhow with their temperament anywho. I am 5’7″ at 160 lbs and I sat on it with no issues aside from some wobbling but obvs wouldn’t recommend putting anything on top, it was just a pressure test of sorts. Its about the size of one of those large wooden baby cribs that convert to a bed (weirdly specific I know) so make sure you have the space…which I’m sure you do if you have a Dane.TLDR;Great product, just be careful of the seller. “Shipped and sold by Amazon” is the best thing to look for but they will still handle you properly if a 3rd party seller fails.

I have nothing bad to say about this cage it’s so amazing & sturdy! It has been a game changer for our Great Dane since we get it for her! She has so much room to move around & actually lay down with comfort. One of the best purchases we have ever gotten & it was very easy to put up! Really heavy but also very big! Perfect size for bigger dogs!!I promise it is bigger than it looks in this picture! Definitely worth it!

We have a 18 month old German Shepherd – 85 lbs and still growing. His last crate wan XL which was ok but when his ears were sticking out the top of the cage when sitting, we knew we needed something bigger.Wish I had found this one earlier, it is by far sturdier, and much bigger. He can stand up, he can stretch, and he loves it. The doors are large, easy access especially when changing his bedding, no more bumping my head. We only use it nightime for sleeping but it would work for any occasion. I can’t believe how much better quality it is, the wire gauge is twice what we had and that one was supposed to be heavy duty. The only reason we gave it 3 stars for assembly is when we took it out of the box everything was “hooked” together so it took some tools to get the pieces apart and the tray was not protected. The tray arrived damaged but I contacted the company and they sent a replacement immediately. We are VERY happy with this crate, and would recommend it to anyone interested in comfort for their dog.

Extremely dissatisfied. I have purchased Midwest kennels for many years with excellent results until now. Box was not damaged but product was. Three of the four top hooks on front and back panels were broken off. I had to use snap hooks to hold the panels together to assemble and to keep the kennel stable. I own three of these of which my oldest (has two slide gate latches) has been great but the new design with three latches is not as well made and defective. Due to the fact I had to destroy the original packaging and this kennel is so large/heavy, returning it for a replacement is not feasible. Very disappointed.

This crate weighs 85 pounds first of all. It was hard to get the the house and now that it’s assembled it’s not moving anytime soon. It’s a pain in the behind to put together and definitely a two person job…. Make sure to assemble with a patient person or there will be issues. Nothing is marked panel wise and they don’t fit together as smoothly as you would think. However it is the perfect size for my large Great Dane she has plenty of room to stretch out and lay down. She can stand up and her head is no where near touching the top. The downside is this crate is enormous and not easy to move once you set it up so choose wisely the first time. It has to be take apart to go through any doorway unless you have over 4 foot doorways.

This crate is GIGANTIC!! I can get both my adult danes in with enough room for them to lay down and move around a bit – so it is SUPER GREAT for night time! But, especially ROOMY for one adult dane! I am able to crawl in with my female dane and sit with her if I want as well…. although, it’s not something I do frequently – as I do have furniture… and my dogs are part of the family, so they too are allowed on the furniture (LOL). The ONLY thing I didn’t like about this crate, was that it was a PAIN IN THE BUTT to put together, and IF I have to move it from one room to another, then I have to take it completely apart! When it came, it was tangled and was a NIGHTMARE to try to get loose – so I definitely think that the packaging could have been better or something to avoid it being tangled together. Also… this thing is HEAVY!!!! And Heavy duty! I never worry that one of the danes is going to break out or destroy it…. I LOVE this crate!

Bought this for our Great Dane Puppy. Seems like it will be large enough, but only time will tell for sure. This is our 3rd one we have bought, all diffrent sizes. The first 2, large and extra large were/are great! Easy to put together, never had an issue with them, besides the extra large one should have a little sturdier floor pan, ours has a few small holes in it.The XXL kennel came and we put it together. It’s a little trickier than the others, they just unfold, but we actually had to piece this one together, not hard just needed two sets of hands to do it. BUT two of the corners were bent up, it wont affect the overall use, but it did make it a little harder to put together. The floor pan in the XXL one is very sturdy. I used zip ties to help insure the panels stay together, which I did with the two smaller kennels, its probably not necessary but I’d rather be safe than sorry. For the price I would definitely recommend! It seems just as strong as the ones you would purchase from a pet store but at a far better price, plus if you dont have a truck or van having it delivered is a huge plus!

Holy smokes. This thing is just awful.Issues:1. Item arrived with minor damage, with one slightly bent corner. I figure not worth a return, I can fix that2. It is not your standard fold up, collapsible crate. It arrives in all separate panels that have to be (painstakingly) assembled, which leads me to3. Every. Single. Panel. Was warped, damaged, or malformed in some way. Several connecting loops that are supposed to be straight were bent at 45 degree angles. These portions were intact inside the packaging, so it had to have been sent from the manufacturer that way. Being ~4 Guage steel, they’re almost impossible to bend back into place. Both door panels are warped, making the doors barely function. Most parts I was able to bend back into shape with plenty of work, some I had to just give up on.4. After I finally finished assembly, my 23lb, 4 month old English bulldog puppy walked in, and the pan immediately cracked under her weight. A pan that is supposed to be for mastiffs somehow can’t endure a baby bulldog. Needless to say it will not be suitable for my adult Cane Corso.Honestly, even if this thing were half the price, it still wouldn’t be worth it. It’s total junk. I have no idea how it’s gotten such a high rating on Amazon, because the unit that I received couldn’t have been much worseEdit: It could get worse! I just sliced my hand open on a VERY sharp edge on the kennel door.

This extra large dog crate is very very solid with heavy duty wire. Unlike a lot of the smaller channels that have a lighter Duty wires. Wii Fit a 200 pound English Mastiff inside of ours and both of us adults can still get in there with her. If you have any doubt that this will not be big enough for any dog out there think again. This is the kennel or even the largest of breed dogs! You won’t find a finer kennel than this anywhere. It’s literally big enough for people can sit in there comfortably! That’s for grown adults! And even large enough for two full size 200 pound English Mastiffs comfortably. You can’t go wrong with this kennel! Very impressed

I had my greyhound in a crate one size smaller at first, and he hated it. He actually broke a tooth pulling at the bars. With this one he only bit the bars the first day and never since. He goes in easily and sometimes goes in while it’s open to lay down or grab a toy which he didn’t do much before. The packaging completely fell apart, but I didn’t mind much. It was easier to haul up 3 flights of stairs without the box anyway.Do be willing to set aside plenty of time and space to put it together though. I had two pieces that were stuck together and it took at least 20 minutes of swearing, hammering, and pulling to get them apart. I also didn’t give myself more than 6 sqft of space and had to get really creative. I was able to get it together by myself, but I’m 25 and stubborn. You will need a hammer to get the corner posts in unless you happened to get one that is perfectly aligned. And read the instructions. Everyone complaining about the top gap did it wrong. If you line the loops on the side up properly, that gap is at the bottom instead so you can slide in the bottom tray.

We have a lab with destructive behaviors and separation anxiety due to prior neglect. Since letting her roam the house while we are away is not an option, I wanted to get her a very large cage. Mainly because I hate locking dogs up and this thing lets me give her as much space as I can safely allow her. She is a large dog and there is plenty of room for her to stand upright and walk around. Luckily she seems to like it and will even hide in it when we start running the bath lolThis thing is very heavy and it takes up quite a bit of room. It takes up a whole corner of our upstairs living space. It’s kind of hard to describe how large this thing is. You, your spouse, your dog, your dog’s bed, and your dog’s water bowl could easily fit in this. So this is definitely not something you could feasibly travel with. Assembly was straightforward, but requires 2 people due to weight.Overall, it’s more than enough space for a large dog or even XL dogs. It’s only practical for home use though. Also, a dog pen is a better option if your dog wouldn’t jump out.

So I ordered 1 kennel to see if it was actually going to be big enough for my Great Danes and because the price was less than I had seen with kennels that size I wasn’t sure how the quality would be. I was so impressed and happy with my first kennel I ordered 2 more. Unfortunately the next 2 were not as nice. One came bent all the pieces where the connection poles slide in where bent in the wrong direction so I had to get pliers to bend them all back into place. Once I did that however it seemed to work just fine. The third one the metal quality seems to be thinner and my Dane has managed to bend the wires of the kennel. Unfortunately in the front where I have the door there is a pretty decent gap and he got his foot caught when he was excited to get out, thankfully he didn’t break a toe but the wires are completely bent out of shape now. Overall for the price I am impressed and if all 3 had come the same quality as the first one I would easily rate this 5 stars. Do to the size I was unable to find kennel covers but ordered 4×6 painters tarps and used those for my dominant male.

When they say this crate is Ginormous they are not joking. My 150lb great dane looks NORMAL SIZED in this crate, and can lay down and fully extend his legs while sleeping. I thought it was a joke when I read the package weights 90-100lbs, and they were not wrong. The UPS man must have completely given up, as it arrived at my house in a destroyed box barely held together with several layers of packing tape on the corners. Several pieces of the crate were bent with a crate, but I was able to straighten them out in 5 minutes with a pair of pliers. My dog is relatively lazy (he’s a great dane, I don’t know what I expected) so I didn’t have to worry about zip tieing the edges together as some other people mentioned, but I will admit the horizontal edges could use additional reinforcement IF you have a very escape-prone dog.

The size of this crate is really the only positive. It arrived in an undamaged box but we still found the crate bent in numerous places making it very difficult to assemble. The hooks that hold the sides to the bottom also seem to be a possible hazard. We had to use several zip ties to close the corners securely and to pull together one of the wires that had broken away.

Not easy to put together. Came bent with broken hooks to hold the top. Shipping and packing sucks. Item has huge gaps everywhere and very sharp edges. I would not recommend or buy this again. If it was not such a pain in the azz to ship back I would tear it down and ship it back. In the way it is put together it’s like a 8th grade child engineered it.

We needed a relatively sizable crate for our rapidly growing great dane. This is a very comfortable crate for our purposes. Our dog enjoys the space & we cover it with a blanket to help her feel more secure. Now, assembling the crate is another story. It came with easy to follow instructions however, the sheer size and weight of the metal sides makes assembling quite challenging. You will need more than 4 hands to get this done quickly and to get it done correctly. We went through many iterations of assembling before it the pieces say properly on each other. It’s quite sturdy but again this will depend on the correctness of assembly. Once assembled, this is not an easy crate to move around if you’re in a situation with limited space. So make sure you know where exactly you want it to be before you begin assembly.

When this box arrived on my doorstep it looked like it had been tortured. The cage was partially exposed on both ends. The cage appeared to be intact for the most part so I didn’t panic. However, once assembly was underway I discovered the end hole pieced were bent and would not line up properly. Too frustrated to repack and send back I used pliers to heft them back into alignment. Did I mention there were no directions included? There weren’t and nothing was labeled top or bottom, which would’ve been nice. I had to get back onto Amazon and look at the photo to get a sense of how to put it together. It took way longer than it needed to take.It is enormous, but so is my dog. Pick it’s permanent spot before assembly. You might not be able to get it down a hallway or stairway afterward. It will take two people to assemble. I recommend one person bring drinks.I don’t think I will ever buy from this company again.

Absolutely had to review this because I was so torn looking at the reviews when I was considering buying. First of all, yes, this thing is super gigantic, especially the height. I love that though. Obviously if you have a small or even medium dog you don’t need this. That should have been obvious to some people from the dimensions or what the product is called. I have a french mastiff and he is an escape artist. He has gone through 3 other kennels. He would, through sheer strength, push the doors and walls apart, even though they were all properly latched, and then crawl through the tiniest hole he created to get out. One time a spoke of the kennel came unwelded and punctured him all the way through into his muscle. He still continued to escape and acted like it was nothing. We would zip tie every joint together and then use 4 military grade, 200 pound zip ties to keep the door shut. He would still escape. UNTIL THIS KENNEL. He can’t escape and it is not for lack of trying! We can hear him trying to get out but the metal is a little thicker than normal kennels and hooks on the latches mean he can’t wiggle them open with his snout. I would love to leave him out but he is very destructive in the house when we are not around, so until we can figure out a way to help his anxiety more, this kennel has saved our lives and our home!

What a GREAT crate! Well made, VERY sturdy! EXTREMELY large. Our Dane loves it! It did come a little banged up, but nothing serious. That’s on the shipper… I’d buy this again from Midwest, but unless we decide to buy another Dane soon, there’s no need. This one will last a lifetime! We recently bought an extra large Stella Season’s dog bed, here on Amazon, that fits PERFECTLY inside this ginormous crate. Now our Dane lives like a King who loves his crate!

I have a nine month old Great Dane and this cage is perfect for him! He has enough room to sprawl out, turn around multiple times and sit very comfortably. It weighs 80 pounds. It’s easy to put together with two people and it’s a little more tricky with one person. If you put it together right it’s stable won’t move around. It was hooks to keep the sides together which is nice. At first I thought the door wouldn’t open but I just had to open and close it a few times. It was brand new. It came in a brown box no labeling but that doesn’t matter. The cage itself is really nice. The other dog cage to the right is an XL dog crate so when they say XXL they mean it! My Great Dane is not done growing and I’m sure I won’t have to upgrade this cage in the future! I highly recommend this product. It is not a waste of money you’re getting exactly what you pay for! I love the double door option. I’m 5’2 and the crate comes to my chest. If you have a big dog this is perfect for them! My Great Dane has really bad anxiety but he hasn’t had any issues with this cage unlike some of the other reviews. I think it might just depend on your dogs personality.

I’ve purchased this crate before and was happy with the quality. However, this time I was extremely disappointed. I don’t know if the manufacturing has changed or what but the panels don’t line up properly, the doors won’t open smoothly, pieces were bent out of shape and had to be bent back into shape in order for it to go together. What should have taken less than 20 minutes to put together took over an hour. The doors still won’t open smoothly or properly. The panel actually bends because the doors don’t want to open. Not at all happy with it this time and won’t be ordering any more.

midwest has changed this crate many times over the years. the originals were very heavy gauge, well made crates. then they were a little light, a little less well made. and now, well, they are flimsy, not strong enough to contain a dog of the size for whom they are made. very disappointed.also, i’ve nevery et received one of these crates without having to do an hour’s work straightening out the bent metal tabs. it woiuld be nice if midwest bothered to pack it propertly.

First off…. I love the SIZE. This cage is giant and perfect for my dogs needs after her TPLO surgery. She’s restricted to a cage but able to turn around without getting her cone caught on things.Cons: the manufacturer needs to find a better way to package this. The ends were stuck together and interloooped into each other making it very difficult to disesembal from each other so we had the option to build it.It was actually so difficult, I considered returning the cage. After a good hour of my boyfriend assembling, we finally got it put together! The directions were simple enough to follow, but keep in mind how giant this is. You will literally need your front room spotless in order to build it and separate the pieces

I’m a Great Dane owner and I’ve used these crates exclusively because I love them. Normally they are beautiful, well made and sturdy. This one is bent. The door on the narrow end is all bowed out and bent. The top is bowed inward. I don’t need the divider but if I did I would be screwed because it’s bent also. These aren’t inexpensive so I’m really unhappy with it.Unfortunately it’s for too large for me to load and take to the UPS store to return so I guess I’m stuck with it.I’ve owned 5 Midwest crates before this one and never ever had an issue before.

This one was hard to rate. The cage is fine, not super sturdy, but thankfully our big guy isn’t currently demanding his escape. I honestly don’t know how much abuse it would take…. There is give and take flexibility in it, which may help with durability. There is plenty of room in it for our 9 mo, 120 lb Great Dane. He can lay on his side w/ all four legs stretched out. He has plenty of room as he fills out and tops off in height. Lots of head room when standing, and room from nose to hind end. Wagging his tail is a different story. LOLIt arrived in a damaged box. The size is awkward and it is certainly heavy. There’s no really great way to carry it alone so I don’t really blame the delivery guy – if that’s where the damage came from. We did have to straighten a corner back out. It would not have gone together with it bent.As others have said – there are NO instructions. If you aren’t experienced with assembly this will feel like putting a baby crib together. It is awkward to assemble, and much easier to do with extra hands. Husband and I did it together and occasionally called a child in to hold something up. What took the longest was our discussion on which way was up, and could we assemble the swing of the (short side) door for our needs.Things that clued us in on assembly -1)The large squared panel should go on the floor – don’t want him managing to get his head through a big hole and the strangling. Which leaves the panel with the much smaller rectangles to go on the top.2) The Short sided panel w/ the door has a plate on it – obviously you want that upright to be able to see the company name plate.3) The long sided panel w/ the door does NOT have this plate, so it’s not so obvious. Use the latches of the door to determine right side up. The latches don’t secure if the door is upside down.4) Now the other two sides… They are not like the others, besides not having doors. Both the long side and short side door panels have small squares along the top & bottom of the panel. The long & short panel w/ out door only has these square (vs. Rectangles) along one edge – so which way is up? The rectangles up, the squares on the floor – there are vertical hooks on the bottom panel that secures each panel to the bottom panel. Trial and error, the hooks only reach that horizontal (creating the “squares”). Hopefully the pictures clears up that muddy explanation.5) Every corner is held together by long pins. Again having another pair of hands was helpful here. It didn’t just slide into place.6) We felt the top had too much gap ability so we secured the top to the front and back panels with small bungee cords. Really if our guy wanted to stand up, and with his strength I’d bet on him being able to pop the top off this kennel. Which reminds me:7) The top is secured on with smaller hooks along the long sides of the kennel. We opted to secure these more with pliers and a good squeeze to close them up a bit more than how they arrived.Because of the placement of this kennel we prefer to use the small sided door and for it to swing the other way. This causes two function problems:1) the latches (as mentioned earlier) don’t secure when in place. Easy fix w/ a clip.2) You cannot pull the very large tray out of the kennel through the slot in the bottom of this door designed to do just that. With a little man handling we manage still. :)If I needed another kennel this size, I would still purchase this one, but it’s not like there are many options this size. I just feel that a detailed and honest review would be helpful to others. I don’t have a current picture of our guy in this kennel. I’m including a couple that might help though. The girl in the 2 photos is the same 10 y.o. just 4 mos apart.

I just ordered a second one. Great company, they got it to me far quicker than I anticipated, which is why I ordered a second one rather than going to a store and paying extra to lug it home myself. It’s HUGE. I only need one for a Great Dane I am adopting next week, but my other dogs also enjoy the extra room. So now my house is dominated by these things. They are well made. The first one I got was several years ago, and I bought it at a petsmart kind of place. It’s the same model number and everything, so I know it’s the same kennel as this one. It has held up very well, the pan will need replacing at some point but that’s it. I keep it in my house so don’t know if rust would be an issue outside. All in all, it’s a great price and a quality kennel.***Update*** the second one was not in as great condition as the first one. I think that may be because it was banged up a bit along the way. I am pretty sure that my delivery driver despises me now. There were no issues that weren’t easy to work around or look the other way on, nothing that would potentially injure an animal. Also, just an FYI… My other half moved the first one up the long, unpaved driveway and into the house. I heard all about it for quite some time. So when the second one came in, I decided to move it myself when he was at work. Not to be stubborn or prove a point or anything. And I’m not saying anything about his method of dragging it and complaining, it seemed to work ok for him. I opted to turn it gently end over end. I had it at my front door before my daughter had brought the two wheeled dolly thing from the barn. Just saying. It wasn’t difficult at all and I didn’t damage the box, the cage, or myself in the process. He didn’t have to hear me complain about moving it alone, just had to listen to me gloat a tiny bit. Remember, gently turn it end over end, cartwheel style. Was easy to do, and I am not exceptionally strong.

Not the easiest install. It was very poorly packaged so many portions of the panels were bent out of shape. In order to get it put together we had to some significant re-shaping with pliers. I would normally not include that in a product review but by the looks of the factory packaging I am betting that this is a very common experience with this unit. Other than that this was EXACTLY what we needed for our two 90LB labs. There is TONS of room in it for them to move around, stand, even jump up somewhat (mine think they are kangaroos). There is also more than enough room for a water bowl and their bed and the plastic removable tray is a nice touch making for an easy clean-up if needed. The large side and end doors are very well designed. Mine go in and out of the large side door without any issues. In fact, the side door is so large that I (at 6ft and 255LBS) can easily get in and out of it to change their water, bedding, etc.For the record the coated steel used in the construction seems to be of a very high and heavy duty quality. Overall I think you would be very hard pressed to find a similar sized model with two large doors and included pan for less.

But that’s not a bad thing. We have a mixed Rotty/shepherd pup that’s now around 6 months old and weighs almost 70 pounds… this crate is tall and big – has plenty of room for us to have his big bed in it and leaves room left over. He’s able to turn around in it and doesn’t have to lower his head like he would with the other cages.Yes, it is a lot taller than it needs to be – but honestly I’d rather have it too tall than not tall enough. He goes in it himself throughout the day to occasionally lie on his bed – when he doesn’t lay on the couch with his football sized head in my lap. LOL Even enters it at night on his own when it’s bedtime – no treats needed but still given after he goes in. All in all very pleased with this item.Definitely need 2 people to put together as it’s something of a pain in the behind. A little adjustment on some of the wires was needed with a pair of pliers but nothing major. Something I figured would happen with this type of item. Great item – would definitely buy again. It is NOT what I would consider portable – not easy to take down and put back together like some of the smaller ones that are good for to go – but this really isn’t meant to be on the go.

My two Rottweilers (2yrs) fit extremely comfortably in one kennel.PRO:1. Size – There is no other kennel this large that I have found (Costco size $124 doesnt even come close to this size http://www.costco.com/Majestic-Pet%e2%84%a2-Titan-48%22-Dog-Crate.product.11234731.html)2. Quality –does not feel like cheaply made wire, etc. Feels quite sturdy3. Price – great at $150 when you compare the size to the Costco one4. Two doors — always a plus;5. latches work well – I have to admit my costco one has a short latch and the dog can get out. This one has good long latches and she cant get outCON:1. Ugh… it needs 100% construction. The costco one just requires you to unfolder and latch. Plan on this one taking about 30-60min to get it perfect. You can get it set up in 15min but to actually get good 90 degree angles and properly cornered so everything is aligned and not having gaps, this will take some time.2. Weight – wow! This is heavy. I’m 5′ 2” and struggled to pull it into the house after it was delivered. I had to take it out of the box in order to move it in. Two people should be OK with some effort.NOTE:a. Keeping a family in one is not recommended! It was a joke :Db. I had zero damage in shipping or construction. Many people talk about it coming damaged, but I had no issues.

I bought this huge crate for a sick cat. He is big guy, tall, long and a little chunky. He had cancer surgery and I wanted him to have enough room to walk around, sleep, eat and use his litter box.Pros: it couldn’t be much bigger! It’s pretty well made. I hope it works out for him.Cons: no instructions included and I had to put this thing together on my own. It was hard, heavy and not very easy to do. Pieces were also hooked and kind of stuck together. Hooks were keeping me from getting it apart easily. I did look it up online and found instructions and a video. But when they say, “the side door goes on the right.” Which right side? As you look at it or inside looking out?One question I was asked here was maneuvering, not a good question for a crate this size. Why would you even think about moving this behemoth around?I wish it had been less expensive, but if instructions were included, I might feel better about the cost, lolReally tho, it does seem pretty sturdy for a large dog.

So this thing was delivered in crap condition. Torn and partially opened box. And that would be fine if it was only cosmetic damages, but it ended up bending pieces of the cage as well. This was the worst thing to cage to figure out. There were no instructions on how to get the pieces apart from each other. There were pieces so messed up I have to take pliers to bend them in place so I could separate the pieces to begin building it.Now I did this alone and dear god I wish I didn’t. It was a nightmare to figure out. It’s super heavy on top of the problems with it being damaged. This made it an even bigger pain. Now, if it had been delivered in a non-damaged condition, it’d have been fine. However, it was not and was an absolute nightmare. I hated the entire process to this. It makes me never want to move again in my life because I’d rather keep it where it’s at than go through this ever again. For this $195 cage to arrive messed up, I’m infuriated. Amazon should have done better with delivering it.The Cage itself is great though. It fits my German Shepherd just fine, with plenty of extra room. It will be sturdy enough for him.10/10 for the cage.3/5 due to the damage to the cage.

This product arrived quickly, but it was not in brand new condition. Much of the metal connections were bent out of place as if it had been assembled before and taken apart carelessly. We had to bend them back into place to securely put it together. The floor tray was warped with bends and imprints along one side from being incorrectly & tightly packed against the metal cage. I would have returned this but it’s huge and the packaging it came in was also falling apart and the styro-foam support was crumbling (it got everywhere, gross toxic styro-foam crumbs all over my front room) and we need it for our huge puppy. We just made due as it would have been even more hassle to try and pack it back up to send it back and we covered the tray with a kennel pad we ordered separately which works ok. I believe that when you fork out money for a product, it should be in brand new condition when you recieve it. I paid over $150 for this thing, it’s hard to not feel ripped off. I would not order this item again.

I initially bought this because it was the biggest crate I could find. My lab had surgery and we had to crate him. I was not excited about it, so it was either buy this crate or put a fence around my living room (I considered it, but he wasn’t supposed to jump on the sofa, so the crate won.) It took two people to put together, because I had to oversee my husband assembling it and provide helpful tips along the way. He loves that. As soon as I put a dog bed in it, my dog went right in. The downside of the crate is that it’s kindof huge. We have it in the corner of our living room, but really it’s most of the wall. You wouldn’t want to have to take it down and shove it in the car for a weekend trip (unless you were trying to avoid bringing anyone else with you.) My dog has healed, and we still have the crate up. We might eventually donate it to a shelter, but for now, he really seems to like it. The only issue is the kids seem to like to lock each other up in it. I wish I were kidding. But we learned it’s easy for them to reach through the bars and unlock it. I don’t recommend it as a cage for children, I’m just providing the facts.

Definitely a Great Dane sized crate! I looked everywhere for a crate long enough for my dog and this is the only one I found anywhere. This might be the biggest crate in production in the US lol. I MIGHT have been able to put this together myself but I’m not sure. Due to the size and weight it was difficult to assemble, but it’s massive so what are you gonna do. I only took off a star because some of the hooks were bent and could not be fastened. Luckily my fiancé was strong enough to unbend them using a screwdriver, if I’d been alone I wouldn’t have been able to fix them.

This crate is AMAZING. It’s HUGE. It’s PERFECT for my Great Dane. He loves it and it has quickly become his safe haven. He loves going in here. When I received this crate, it was extremely heavy. I’m 115 lbs, and this box was 98 lbs. I was able to bring it inside from the front porch but I could not move it further. I opened the box and began my adventure to set it up. I opened the box downstairs, but I needed to assemble the crate upstairs. Within maybe an hour and half, I was able to fully assemble this crate piece by piece by dragging each panel up the stairs. I assembled this crate alone, although my dog did try to help every now and then. It was not easy, but it was not impossible. At first, I thought that all of my hooks on the pieces were distorted like another reviewer commented. I then realized that they were stuck because the long metal rods were holding them together! Once I pulled the long metal rods out, it was a cake walk.Do not be intimidated by assembly. The instructions provided were good enough. I followed them and put the crate together perfectly. Be warned that you need a LARGE space to assemble this crate because the panels need to lay down on the side of the base at first to properly hook them on.I highly recommend this crate to anyone who has a large dog. My Great Dane is on the small size (110 lbs), but he is able to stand, walk in circles, stretch, and lay down comfortably with the doors closed.

I got this for my 92 Lb. Great Pyrenees mix. He has a lot of leg room to be comfortable while lying on his side. If you don’t have enough space on the floor to lie the sides down next to the bed panel then it is good to have two people. One person needs to hold one of the panels in place where it needs to stay hooked because it will easily become unhooked if it is not held in place when trying to hook the other side of the kennel panel to the bed panel. Make sure the door panel on the long side is right side up or it will be hard to hook it correctly and if you succeed, you will hook it so that it can not be opened. Pay close attention to the directions and get a good nights sleep before attempting to put this together because it will take a lot of patience. Be careful not to pinch your fingers! Make sure you know exactly where you want to put it because this is 80 pounds and it is hard to move and not something I would look forward to disassembling and having to put back together. As you can see in the picture, some things don’t always go as planned lol

First thing I would say is that if you buy this product, you should have a stout pair of plyers, like lineman’s plyers, on hand to straighten all the bent parts. The box had one little tear and ding in the corner so I was expecting to fix a bend when I opened the box. However, I was not expecting the 15 plus other areas where I had to straighten the sides interlocking hooks which were bent side to side, forward or back, or the loops bent too far closed while others were bent too wide open. These were not shipping damage; this is someone not giving a crap about quality control and putting these bent parts in a box. The paint was not rubbed any place and the parts were interlocked with zip ties and the locking pins to create one non moving mass inside the box, thus, I know these were non shipping related issues. All issues were easy to fix with the right plyers. All that said, it is just an animal cage and it has a nice thick gauged metal which will last a very long time. The cage is attractive. This thing is huge and easily dwarfs an 80lb pup. You assemble the cage first and then slide in the vinyl floor tray into an opening which allows for easy removing and cleaning later. There is large access door on the side and a main door on one end. Both doors open easily. For those who don’t otherwise like to read assembly directions, note that there is a little latch bracket one end of the floor’s metal caging. This goes on the same end as the main door when all is said and done.Would I recommend this cage to a friend or purchase another in the future? Absolutely I would. It is a strong attractive cage as long as you know you will have to do about five minutes of parts straightening before you assemble the parts. If you plan to have this cage in the house, assemble it in the room where you want to keep it because it will not fit through many doorways once assembled. Also, it is a heavy cage so again, it may be best to assemble it where you plan to use it the most. The weight is my I had no intention of carrying this package back upstairs to return ship it. You will two or more folks to carry the shipping package into the house as it is big and heavy.I purchased this for my daughter’s dog for when we are away from the house. My daughter and her boyfriend loved the cage and the dog really seemed to enjoy the much larger space well.

This is a heck of a cage for a good price. I assembled it by myself because I’m an angry, divorced 5 who can’t be polite to anyone. So with that said, it wasn’t easy but definitely fits together well and is well made. My dog ain’t getting out of this one, and if you have kids it doubles as a small jail cell. My only complaint is that it its so large it was beat up pretty badly by the time it reached my door, with a big dent knocked out of the pan. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

You will never need another cage unless you own an actual bear! I have a Saint Bernard puppy and wanted to get him a cage he will grow into and have room to move around when fully grown. He has that room and more. It was a great buy and the great thing is, I won’t have to buy another as he grows. I’m not kidding when I say this thing is huge. It was pretty easy to put together and also easy to clean. Some of the eyes came bent, but that was an easy fix. I would say I would buy again, but I don’t think I will need to. lol

This crate is large enough for the Mastiff to stand up without hitting the top of the crate. Plenty of room to turn and sleep. It is heavy duty the dog will not be injured by broken wires. The crate is made of heavy gauge steel rods. The crate will keep the Mastiff safe and make her successful. The only negatives are it is very hard to move for vacuum cleaning and it is large and takes up a lot of space in my living room.If you are not putting this in your living room there are no negatives.

Well it’s definitely the right size I was looking for. But for almost 200 dollars I expected that it wouldn’t have 4 bars that dig into your floor if you have to move it. That it would have had good enough packaging to not arrive bent in several spots. For me nor to have to fight to bend back o-ring loops that are so bent in they don’t line up. And that the top latch would be properly assembled to the point it wouldn’t simply snap off when setting up the cage. For the price I would’ve hoped for at least a metal tray instead of warped plastic. Not very happy.

It is truly huge. We have a 115 lb greyhound/Russian wolfhound mix. He is easily more than 7′ long stretched out. I had the largest crate I thought they made, and my wife discovered this one on Amazon. The other reviewers have it correct that unless you have the largest kind of dog, this crate is too much. However, for us, it is perfect. Our dog Tully now has enough room to do the typical dog turn-around in place and lie down. HIs other crate wouldn’t allow that. Also he is very tall, so his other crate wouldn’t let him stand fully upright with his head up, this one does. The box arrived destroyed on two sides and taped back together by some midnight UPS technician. A couple of the wire loops were significantly bent and I had to ge the big pliers from the garage to fix them. Also, the instructions weren’t clear about assembling the side with the door panel on it, unless you do it with the door open, you can’t get the door open from then on. My 10 year old son helped me (actually helped me, not “helped” me) and we did the whole thing in about 30 minutes from start to finish. It is a little flimsy because it is so large, so I added some zip ties for strength. Tully learned to escape from his previous two crates, quite a magician our dog. So far so good on this one. I can’t claim to read his mind, but perhaps it is large enough that he doesn’t feel the need to escape? For what it is, and what we needed, it is great. I am a very happy customer.

I bought this crate for a 2 year old, 85 pound, Belgian Malinois that hates being locked up. I hate locking her up, but it has been over 100 degrees for around three weeks (115 degrees on at least a couple days). This crate is easily big enough for her to stand up and raise her head to stretch. She can also move around with ease. If she were to have an accident in the crate, she would have enough room to stay away from it. This crate is indeed huge. The steel bars are thick enough to prevent a lot of dogs from doing damage. She also finds it difficult to get a good bite to pull on the bars. It’s possible, but not easy enough for her level of determination (she is angry she is in there, but not panicking, which is very different). The door also has three latches, so it would not be easy to bend a corner open to escape (how she got out of her last crate in under 10 minutes). I’ve watched her try and she could not do it. I no longer need to use carabiners to make sure the door will hold. Some people may still want to use something to ensure their dog cannot bend the corners.*This crate will not be able to keep in the most determined dogs because I have seen dogs escape from serious kennels (as in chewing through heavy duty chain link and breaking teeth). Nothing is fool proof and certainly not this crate. If you have a seriously determined dog, there’s not much on the market at a reasonable price that will work. This crate will work for dogs that will not take escapes to the extreme.I like this crate a lot, but it is not perfect. (1) Some of the areas where the panels meet are not sturdy. A tall enough dog might be able to pry the top and a side apart and end up trapped and harmed. I used several zip ties to make sure there was no chance of that. I did this all around the crate just to be sure. (2) I did not receive assembly instructions, which may have fallen out since the packaging was damaged, but I don’t know. You can download a PDF from the manufacturer if needed. These instructions are not very good, so you may want to also watch a video or two.All in all, I find this crate to be a great deal based on the price. It cost much less than expected and is sturdy enough for my moderately determined escapee. Anyone that knows Malinois knows how determined that can be!

Large package as was to be expected, but was very beat up upon arrival. All pieces were in the box, but literally every panel had several bent connectors. Pliers to bend the metal back into place were required for set up, and some pieces of wire to connect the roof panel were broken straight out of the box before assembly was attempted as shown in the pictures taken after 2 hours of putting it together. Also there was a hole in the bottom tray that was a good 2 and a half inches long.Am keeping it because it took so long to assemble and I wouldn’t want to have to take it apart and pay to return it, but for the price, I am definitely disappointed with the quality control and the condition it arrived in. It was so bent, it literally took half an hour to pry apart the panels from each other before anything could be assembled. It’s a great size, but if it’s broken, that doesn’t really matter. Will be having to buy some zipties so the thing doesn’t fall apart on our fur baby.

Out of the box, 4 of the tabs were broken and most of the hooks were bent in random directions, making assembly difficult, and impossible without resorting to heavy-duty zip-ties and wires to hold it all together. Additionally, one of the door latches had somehow popped out of the surrounding mechanism- not even sure how this happened. Of course, I couldn’t know any of this without unpacking it and there was no way of getting this GIANT and HEAVY thing back into a box to ship it back so I was pretty much stuck with it. Had it arrived intact, I would have no complaints- It’s a great size for my Dane and he loves his “house,’ despite all of the ranting while I was putting it together.

My Great Dane Puppy really enjoys his 54″ kennel, its perfect size for him to stretch out in and sometimes he just goes in there to play with his toys. I got him at 8 weeks old and now he is 11 weeks. We never had any problems with him making messes in his cage, he just crys when he has to go. I think this kennel would be perfect for a smaller dog or puppy, they really enjoy the extra room. My Great Dane male will eventually out grow this case, his breeder actually recommended the Petsafe Cottageview Kennel which is much bigger 5’L x 5’W x 4’H.The only reason I took of a star is because I’m not to crazy about the door design, it has a metal ledge that the dog must step over to enter and exit the case and my puppy is clumsy and sometimes hits his legs on it. Also there has been 2 times when my puppy was playing with his stuff animals when he stepped in the crack that’s between the ledge of the door and the tray, his foot got stuck in there and I had to help him get it out. He hasn’t had any problems now that he’s 11 weeks old and he is used to his case but this could be a safety hazard.I attached a few photos of when he was 8 and 10 weeks old, I also included 2 screen shots from my IP camera that I turn on so that I could keep an eye on him when I’m away from home. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I have 5 dogs. We have only bought 1 of these so far because it was the last one we needed. Well now we are buying another 4 hahaha these things are HUGE they are not kidding. My great Dane, English mastiff and Pomeranian all fit inside comfortably. (We only know this because when we leave they all try to have the big kennel) we bought a large dog bed and it barely took up half the kennel! We can set up a mini bedroom for our dane when we leave. Bed, blanket, food and water bowl. And hes got plenty of space.I will say if you dont have a extra large area probably dont buy this. The xl one holds my great dane, saint bernard and English mastiff just fine(clearly not all together). We have an entire large living room type area for their kennels and this takes up quite a bit of space.I also didnt have issues with any weird pokey spots. Its not terrible to put up as long as you use your brain and a wall. We have to zip tie the corners of ours because our dog is Houdini and some how rocks and sways just right so he can escape basically any crate so thats not specific to this product for us.

This big cage arrived less than an hour ago. If you’ll look at the attached photos you’ll see it was a rough ride. I don’t think there was any damage from shipping because the cage was well packed. The first thing I noticed after opening the box was that this product is used. Look at the door latch photo to get an idea of how much. The rods were really scarred from previous owners. A little rubber paint in a dozen places and on all of the rods and spots rubbed bare on the fencing would have been quality customer service and appreciated. Feel free to send me a can of the cage coating. I’ll be glad to add a star.Easy to assemble! Allow lots of room to stage for assembly…to lay all of the pieces out flat. The top piece is too wide for the roof of the cage and the end door piece is too short by two about two inches…photos attached. The rest of it fit together like a glove. Practically seamless aside from the aforementioned glitches. We own a tall western shepherd with a long tail. That’s a Malagator (malinois), Alsatian, Beauceron mix. He can stand, sit, lie down stretched out, and he took to the cage immediately once his mat when in the door.

If it wasn’t so giant and heavy I would have returned it! It’s going to serve is just fine now that it’s assembled but OMG the instructions are a tad confusing no sides are labeled… you need a HUGE 4x the size of the crate, space yo assemble it as you have to pay the sides down and then slip them into clips, which when the metal is bent on a lot of the sides and base it’s really difficult… I cried multiple times putting this together and had to take a couple breaks… for function and size this is a 2 person assembly job for sure

IF YOU NEED A BIG (BIG!!!) STURDY CAGE, THIS IS THE CAGE! I HATE CAGES, BUT I NEEDED ONE TO CONFINE OUR 115 POUND NEWFOUNDLAND PUPPY, TO KEEP HIM QUIET, DURING HIS HEART WORM TREATMENT. I had rescued our boy from a horrible ‘back yard breeder’ and the poor guy came with heart worms. He had to be kept ‘quiet’ during his treatment. Ever try to keep a 115 pound puppy quiet? So, restricting his movements became necessary. This cage was perfect. Strong, two entrance choices, huge; big enough for our boy to stretch out and lay down, stand up without hitting his head and still small enough so he couldn’t run. The cage is even large enough for our 150 Great Dane to stand up in, sit in, and sleep in, though we don’t use the cage any more, except to give our now 125 Newfie puppy a 10 minute ‘Time OUT’ when he gets too boisterous in the house (chasing cats, etc.). This is a huge, strong, well made cage! If you need one, THIS cage is it!!!

The box it arrived in was not damaged , however upon opening it, the metal had a lot of areas that had be fixed because it was bended and dented all over. Because its for a dog a would have been a hassle to return it , i decided to fix it and just keep it.No instructions where included but luckily the manufacture has a online video with instructions. Assembly the crate was fairly easy, by following the video. However for the price the crate is not a high duty quality frame. It is a heavy cage and It will hold a calm dog. But I would not recommend it for a dog that is aggressive or for any dog that doesn’t like to be inside a crate. Most dogs will be able to brake the door down and escape. If your dog is calm and is crate trained then you won’t have a problem. My 2 years old golden retriever fits fine and has room to move around. But not sure it will fit a St. Bernard or Great Dane like the picture on the site shows.
