I ordered this crate in the size 37in. x 24.5 x 28 for my 5 month old American Pitbull Terrier Male. Im glad I did, instead of ordering the flimsy iCrate or lifestages crate. They are just too noisy, especially with an already 40lb Puppy inside it.I thought this was a much better deal because I did not want to spend $200 on one of the super strong crates I was originally looking at. I feel like this one will work just fine and will be strong/safe enough for my Dog. I really like how there is a lot less rattling. I wish there was a better slide out crate pan though. It seems to be the same as all the other ones.Pro’s:-3 doors-No rattling-Much sturdier/better quality-Price isn’t that badCon’s:-Front door latches are difficult to lock and unlock (Atleast on the one I got)-Was shipped in the same box it came in without any extra protection (Box was a bit banged up)-Slide out crate pan doesn’t seem any more durable then the ones in the other crates. All in all, I would definetly recommend this crate for anyone wanting something higher quality and long lasting. It’s great for people with stronger pets, who may do some damage to a weaker crate.

Sturdy, great door handles for closure. From someone “in the dog business” — I’ve seen a lot of crates through the years and this is one of the best quality I’ve had purchased. Too heavy for me to travel with (unless it stayed built in the vehicle). Worth every extra dollar.

The crate is fine. It is what is described. But be careful ordering from whoever is selling these. They will charge you the price of a larger crate and send you the wrong one (smaller one) and then expect you to ship it back, place another order as if it was MY mistake… just completely unacceptable C.S.

Came in the factory box and set up easily. Box arrived with no dents/punctures. We have the Life Stages of this same size and the Ultima Pro is definitely heavier overall, though the divider that comes with this seems a little flimsier than the Life Stages divider. That’s probably because the life stages divider is one piece, where this one has a hinge in the middle. Realize the divider is made out of much lighter gauge metal and only attaches on the sides and top. We wanted a 3-door crate so we could orient it in a corner of the room and have the door open toward the wall. Our pup is not an escape artist and is fairly mellow in the crate, so we’ve had zero issues with the dog getting out. We have had zero issues with the door coming off when opening/closing like others have reported. The powder coating seems a little more durable than the life stages coating, though there were a few chips in the handles so it is not indestructible. Overall very happy.

Wonderful sturdy cage, too big to use as a travel cage. Also, unless you have a mastiff or some other 125 to 200 pound dog, you most definitely DO NOT need this size cage. I have a German Shepherd and I could fit 2 full grown German Shepherds in this cage. I’m keeping it because it’s too much of a hassle to return it.

I love how sturdy this crate is! I researched the best wire crates for a puppy I will be getting soon, and this brand & model came up as a top recommendation. I see why, as it’s much sturdier than other wire crates I’ve had. Bonus that it has 2 doors and a divider! I also found a cover here that fits it great: Molly Mutt Crate Cover https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0093ZDUPU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

These are very well made durable crates. They are made of thicker wire than cheaper crates. I like the fact that they have three doors on them and that the doors are removable. I have three of these side by side for a great doggie apartment. On the two crates on the end I removed a door on one side which are snugged up to the crate in the center. On the center crate I removed two doors so my two dogs can enter in and out of the center crate. I have their bedding in the outer crates and keep their water bowl and dog food in the center crate. I keep the door to the end crates closed but keep the center crate door open so the dogs can enter in and out whenever they want to but close the center crate door when I need to keep them contained. Works great for me.

This is not my first purchase of the Ultimate Pro. I know how they are supposed to work and I chose this model because the crates seem more sturdy with larger gauge wire. This time, the crate was defective however. The front hook that is supposed to secure the front with the door is ineffective as it it placed exactly in the middle of a crosswire. I would have returned the crate but, thinking it would be great quality as usual, I had already thrown away the box. As it is, I secured the corner with a zip tie, and the crate is usable but it is NOT usable at all for travel as it can not be folded up as designed.

It is very sturdy. I have two big dogs and they sleep together in it and they love it. It has not fallen apart and was easy to assemble. Great company to work with. Excellent!
Tiffany Elliott –
My research indicated that this crate was the best option on the market, which is why I ordered it. I have no reason to doubt it’s strength or durability, and it was incredibly easy to assemble as promised. However, given the great reviews, I was disappointed that the crate came dented in a couple of areas, one of which makes it difficult to close the latch on one of the doors. I could have tried to returned or exchange it, but I had an immediate need and didn’t feel like dealing with the hassle of sending it back.

We are fostering a 55lb Female Pit who was severely abused, starved etc etc. We tried FIVE crates prior to this one all of which she either broke out of or destroyed. The crate is fairly thick (although I was expecting a little thicker). She has yet to bend any of the wires after about 3 weeks (with others she did it after one day). The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because the door latch hinges are not as strong as I would have liked. I bought some zip ties and just tied those down so she could not open the gate (trust me she has done it in the past). If this crate can contain our crazy foster Pit I guarantee this thing will hold up to whatever dog you may have.

I assembled and disassembled this crate several times and could not put it together…one side didn’t seem to fit. My son disassembled and reassembled–told me it wasn’t me…something off on front panel. I would have reordered because I think this is excellent quality for the money, but my son went out and purchased a crate for me.

We ordered two of these crates as they were a heavier guage than the ones we currently have. Unfortunately, when we picked them up, both cartons were damaged and the crates in the boxes had some damage to the fastener clips and some of the welds had popped on the wire. We kept them regardless as we would have had to drive back down to the USA to return them and it wasn’t worth the trip. On the whole, they are a much better kennel than the conventional wire crates.

We bought this crate with the divider to keep our 2 beagles. The divider was extremely difficult to get in the crate. Within a day, one of them had taken one of the vertical “bars” off of the divider and over time has bent others. There is now a hole in the divider big enough for either of them to go through and so I can’t keep them separated. In fairness, my dogs hate being in their crate (we’ve tried everything!) and can be quite destructive when we’re gone (in or out of a crate apparently). My low rating is based on the fact that neither the seller nor the manufacturer can sell me a replacement divider. It’s frustrating to have spent $70 on something just four months ago that we can no longer use and will have to spend another $70 to replace.

I’ve been looking for a crate that is just a couple of inches taller than the standard medium crate without being too much larger all around, and this one is PERFECT! Very sturdy too!

Arrived in 2 days with Prime! Works great, sturdy, easy to assemble. Perfect for our Border Collie during thunder storms or when we go out and anticipate bad weather. Our dog chews things up when there are storms (and the thunder shirt did NOT help). We placed the crate under the stairway in the back of the hall closet. We thought our dog would hate the crate since we’ve never used one (he’s only been crated when being boarded), but he even runs into it on his own at night, seeming to prefer a secluded place of his own. To be fair, he does not love to be crated when we go out during the day… he wants to go with us. Incidentally, there is a dog chew tablet called Composure that seems to have helped our dog to be more “composed” during storms, which I also highly recommend.

The crate is very easy to mount, but how to put the wall divider inside is a mystery to me. Could use better instructions for this task. Aside from this, my puppy almost immediately knew to sleep on a cot occupying the 2/3 of the crate and go potty in the absorbing pad placed in the other 1/3 of the crate. Crate size was fine for a 2 lb, 8wk old toy poodle but is now (5 lb and 4 month) a bit small for her. So I would go with one or two sizes above for a more permanent cradle: I placed the crate in my bedroom and that’s where she sleeps now.

This crate is an easy set up and Okay for travel. Our dog has settled in and it’s easy to clean. Disappointed in the ruggedness for the price and what advertised. The main handle has already broken after just a few trips.

The only issue that I had with this was that some of the frame was slightly bent when we got it. I suspect this is probably due to shipping, though. The crate is perfect for my Pitador. With the three doors, it makes it really easy to place it pretty much anywhere in my house and still ensure she can access it. The removable doors mean I can take the doors off and let her come and go freely while I’m in the house and can easily put the doors back on when I’m ready to leave. The metal is thick enough that my dog can’t chew through it, either.

We don’t travel, our crate is just for when we’re out of the house. We have a treeing walker coonhound we rescued and he has separation anxiety. He ate his way out of a softcrate but doesn’t seem to mind this one as much. Maybe it’s the light that can get in.

I purchased this wire dog crate for my boxer who had become quite the escape artist. This one has three doors and is portable, as well as having a divider if you want to use it for two dogs or for a puppy that is still growing and doesn’t need the full crate yet. Overall, a good wire dog crate, but I wish it was made of stronger wire, especially for the weight.Pros:- Portable-ish- Three doors and a divider- Keeps my dog inCons:- The keeps my dog in part is just barely, she has bowed the door a bit by pushing on it with her snout.

I was all over looking for a quality crate for my 60 lb Bernedoodle. He is a rescue and needs a safe but large enough space when home alone. This crate is the perfect size and holding up so well. It does breakdown very easily for travel, but the larger size takes up a lot of space in my SUV. It wouldn’t be good for a trip where your car was full.
Amazon Customer –
Finding a good quality wire crate is not easy. Most of what is out there is pretty much garbage. Use it for a couple of years and go buy a another one (if you are on the circuit). This model however, is actually got some heft to it and appears like it will last awhile. The down side could be it’s weight – this is not light. This is a model I have not seen at the shows in a vendors booth – it is much better than what is typically offered at the shows. If you want a crate that will last awhile this is your model. If you don’t like schlepping a lot of weight around this is NOT your model. The coating seems to be adhered well and will also add to the longevity of the crate by decreasing the rust factor. I did think the third door would be in the top it is not – 2 ends and a side. Would certainly buy again if I needed a quality crate.

We love this pen so far and the divider that comes with it.Just note it is a little taller than other crates it’s size (we got 36”) because of the catch tray at the bottom. Our first one came with a broken latch (likely broke off in transport & before delivery ) but they immediately sent us a new one.
bjjjcrbjjjcr –
I bought this because I moved and my dog was freaking out in her old plastic crate…and had figured out how to escape. *one of the two latches on the door was broken The most important thing is that my dog is happy in this new crate and had plenty of room to turn around. She can see the entire room, which I imagine is a little comforting. I was also able to fit a large bed from Sam’s Club inside. She’s a 75lb lab, and I think the large crate was perfect for her!I like how this folds up for storage and transport. There is a lock/clasp to keep it secure during transport… it was a little tricky to figure out how to open, but easy to set up once I did.

Seems sturdy. My male dog almost destroyed my girl dogs cheap crate in a matter of minutes, but he hasn’t destroyed this one. However, I’d order a size or two bigger than the recommend sizes. My boy is a 65lb pitbull and I ordered one size up from the recommended one and it is barely big enough.

Product description is for Ultimate Pro crate (Professional Series) with 2 doors. The one that arrived was the value priced model. Only one door and definitely not what I would consider an appropriate gauge metal for a professional series crate. Make sure you get what you pay for!!!

In short, this crate is very durable and worth every penny if you have an anxious dog. I have a 50# pitbull mix with crate anxiety who bent the door and several bars on a basic wire crate in 30 minutes. Out of fear that he would eventually injure himself, I bought this crate along with an indestructible Kuranda bed (also highly recommended). He hasn’t left a mark on this crate yet, after hours of use.In addition to being durable, I did not have any issues with the quality or setup; I was able to set it up just as quickly as my other wire crates. I also really like that this model has three doors, it’s really convenient and gives me more options for arranging them in my home.UPDATE: I now have two of these crates because I was so please with the first and adopted another dog with crate anxiety. I’m starting to think that having a more durable crate that doesn’t give into biting and other anxious behaviors helps to curb their anxiety. I have a wireless camera and have watched my dogs in their older, weaker crates and in these Midwest Ultima crates and they seem to give up and settle down when they realize that trying to get out of the crate is useless. This is just a theory based on my experiences.I’d also like to add that the heavy weight of these crates also makes it much more difficult for the dog to slide them across hardwood floors. My beagle slid her old crate several feet across the floor while inside (she’s only 25 lbs with a very small frame) but hasn’t been able to move this one.

Amazon doesn’t specify this but manufacturers website does. The pro is the heavy duty model and recommended for larger dogs. I am very glad I researched this first as I was set to buy the light duty. This crate has heavier duty wire and previous experience it’s the only one I would recommend from this manufacturer for a larger dog. I have a very rambunctious puppy and she hasn’t been able to escape or bend the wire as on other crates.

Love this crate! Have a 110 lb Great Dane and I love the height of the doorway in this crate. It’s very sturdy with a good weight to it. Replaced a flimsy crate that was the same size with a much lower door opening with this crate and my baby is very happy not to have to crouch down to get in.

Had this Kennel for 6 months, pitbull was able to break the entire latch off, breaking the weld.UPDATE: Midwest Kennels is replacing our kennel under warranty! EXCELLENTCUSTOMER SERVICE!!UPDATE AGAIN: My dog was able to break the weld off of the second kennel as well as warp the door, simply by pushing on it. The kennel is well built, but not strong enough for our pup.

In the written description it states that the crate is 3 door. In another place the description states 2 door. Because I like MidWest crates, I ordered it regardless of 2 or 3 door. Either would be fine for the purpose I intend to use it. My suggestion is to correct the description. Midwest makes a quality crate. I have bought 9 Midwest crates in the past 10 years. I doubt I will ever need to replace them. I was given a crate much like the Midwest, but a different manufacture. It was inferior to say the least. Midwest makes a good product. Don’t waste your dollars on a bad crate that your precious pet uses. Midwest is best. By the way, the crate is a two door.

My 75 lb shepherd/pit mix got spooked during a thunderstorm and was able to break the welds and bend the bars. She cut herself all up. She had escaped previously by wedging herself between the crate walls somehow but I had reinforced that vulnerability with zip ties. She’s very strong but this still shouldn’t be possible with a crate designed for large dogs.
R. Moreno –
This is a high quality crate. The wires are thick and well put together. The crate does not wobble at all. The removable doors are one of the selling points that led me to buy this. It is hard to find removable doors on crates. Also, I am able to roll the crate in one direction (there are strong rolls of plastic on the bottom wires). It makes cleaning under the cage easy since you do not have to lift it.Our dog is strong and likes to jump against the crate and is a heavy chewer, yet the crate can stand all the force. I can really see this lasting a very long time. Even the plastic tray is thick. Also, there are no sharp edges. It comes with a DVD that will help you crate your dog (I had no use for it).If you are buying a crate, spend the extra money and go for the Ultima Pro.

I had to have help with assembly as my fingers are stiff and so were the attachment points of this crate. If you have arthritis of the hands, be sure you have someone who can help you with assembly Otherwise, this is a good quality crate. The two doors are helpful for placing the crate in different locations. My dog is happy in her new quarters.
PrairieFire –
Rock solid construction. Went through a lot of hand wringing to decide to buy this. Every crate/cage for sale has about the same rating with the same few horror stories. This was easy to assemble, met all the descriptions accurately. Slight issue with closing the top latch on one door…rubs a little on the frame when sliding. Other than that, this is a very solid crate. Caveat: Our dog is NOT an escape prone creature, so can’t warrant veracity of “horror stories” by her example.

I would love this crate, except that the hooks on the doors for the hinges seem like they were welded too close to the door, and don’t have enough clearance to slide around the loop on the crate. This causes the loops on the crate to constantly get bent when opening and closing the doors. The doors barely open now, and the locks don’t line up. Possibly a defect that may not be on all of them but it unfortunately makes the crate barely usable.

Beautiful and sturdy product for our German Shepherd and 60 pond mix dogs. There was some damage to cage and tray on delivery but customer service was above and beyond to make it right.

This crate was very sharp , I cut my hands very deeply just opening it up , where the doors are ,then I almost sliced my finger off on the sharp metal closures that are suppose to hold the crate in the folded down position way to heavy to travel any where with , I never used it it’s still in the box I was afraid it would cut one of my show dogs, I tried to contact the seller but they said they would need picture my camera broke . I have several midwest crates never had a problem with so I was shocked this one was so sharp and the holders to keep it closed were made out of sharp metal not clips like the other Midwest crates I have . Love the red label ones with one door , but theses weight almost 50 lbs , are too sharp near three doors ,clips to hold the crate flat are sharp metal not good .

I ordered the Midwest icrate and it was JUST ok, but I wasn’t extremely impressed. I bought another Midwest crate but got the Ultima Pro this time. In terms of overall build quality.. no doubt that the Ultima is far superior. The I crate has thinner gauge wire and much lighter than the ultima pro. Very happy with the Ultima Pro.

Had this Crate for just about a year. Under the black paint when it gets scratched or wears away. there’s rust under it. It’s just an indoor crate, never been outside. Don’t understand why it’s rusting already. Only major thing irking me.

Best crates to get, I have two extra large doberman puppies and needed sturdy crates with sturdy trays. After ordering two “other brand’ crates that I had to return (flimsy construction and thin cracked trays) I am very happy with the Midwest Pro series cages! These will last my pups for a lifetime. Thank you Midwest.

It’s so nice to have the divider there. It’s a great, good quality crate and the divider is a great touch. My little one is still small but I bet having two doors is also going to be helpful.

This is not a true midwest ultima pro crate, thin material, weight is suppose to be 56lbs, actual weight of this crate per shipping label was only 33lbs. I have two other true midwest crates and they are awesome, sending this crate back.

We rescued a Dalmation x Pit mix from the local kill shelter. In preparation we had purchased a regular, run of the mill crate. Bad idea. The new dog had separation anxiety and we came home to a mangled crate and empty counters because she had pulled everything to the floor in search of goodies. We immediately purchased this crate and have had no trouble since. Fortunately, she has overcome her anxiety for the most part. Best value for the money anywhere around and great peace of mind.

I purchased this crate for my puppy at the recommendation of the breeder. It’s very high quality and heavy-duty, so I have no concerns about my puppy escaping (has happened with other dogs and crates). But … it’s an odd size – most 24″ crates are 24″, but this is about 1″ larger on all dimensions compared to the “standard” – so finding a crate cover has not been possible thus far. So, I’m using an old towel, but puppies see towels as toys … so it’s been a struggle.
Kristin Krumpe –
The crate is heavy and I like the heavier gauge wire. However, I have a BIG problem with the door of the crate. The door is easily removed (maybe too easily) and unfortunately one of the three attachment points for the door is totally defective. Because I purchased this crate for a 100 pound, very strong dog, I am quite sure she will be able to find a way to remove the door in no time. In other words, shoddy manufacturing and inspection of this item before it was shipped.I have contacted Amazon to resolve this issue on July 24, 2014 and am awaiting a reply.Update: I originally had given this one star, because the crate was defective (manufacturing problem with the door, hinges not formed properly with one of the doors). On the same day I contacted Amazon, they shipped me out a new crate! I am hopeful that the next one will be perfect, because otherwise I do like the design of the crate and especially the heavy weight. I realize that it’s a Midwest issue (Amazon can’t inspect the crates that are packaged by Midwest, they’re just fulfilling them) but very happy to see Amazon be so quick to rectify this issue. So I’ve changed my review to 5 stars, pending arrival of the new crate…which hopefully will be defect-free.

This crate was perfect for our new pit bull mix puppy. We would definitely recommend it for small dogs and puppies. Easy to clean and transportation. It also seems very sturdy

This kennel is exactly what I expected. It is durable and I love having 2 doors so that I’m not limited on where or how to places it in my home. It was easy to set up, however I did get my finger pinched while connecting the first part. I can’t comment on the ease of traveling with it, because I haven’t done that yet. I’m very Happy with this and I would definitely recommend this brand to anyone. I could have bought a less expensive one, but went with this due to reviews and I wanted something sturdy that will last. As the saying goes… you get what you pay for and I will say I got what I paid for!

The crate arrived on time and is sturdy enough, but it came with one side wedged into another side and Midwest told me to pry it open. While hat did work, I’m now left with a sharp edge when the ‘hook’ wouldn’t close completely and that corner is bent unless I can force it into shape. I didn’t expect that I would have to do all this with a brand new crate. The description doesn’t mention that metal working skills would be needed for assembly.

We waited nearly a month for this to arrive. It arrived with a hole in the plastic floor tray. The box was damaged and the cage actually was bent. We altered the bent cage and had to use duct tape on the tray.Very disappointed in the quality.

Very nice crate. I purchased it based on The Wirecutter recommendation and I’m happy with it. I have the large crate, and it is heavy so I don’t know how easy it is to travel with. The box says it needs two people to carry it.

I made the mistake of buying a different brand crate that was cheaper. My 28lb heeler had the doors bent out of shape in minutes. This crate from Midwest is sturdy and secure. I will not be fooled by cheaper prices again. I will stick with Midwest. Good quality and none of my dogs have ever broken out of these not even my pits.
Shawn –
VERY HEAVY DUTY… I did not know how flimsy some of these crates can be until my chihuahua began ripping apart the metal bars over time with his teeth till they broke at the welds. This is HEAVY DUTY. you can tell in the weight of the latches and the thickness of the steel it is better quality. The gaps between the bars are smaller as well meaning more bars are used in teh construction.Really nice crate. I will remember the name and order again. Setup is typical and folded up easy.
Big Kid –
It’s a solid heavy-duty crate and I really like having two doors. It is really heavy compared to the cheaper versions, but I guess that’s how you get a stronger crate. Hinges and latches are easy to open and close and the door stays where I leave it. The moveable inside partition is designed pretty well, although not super easy to move. Thankfully I’m expecting to move it once or twice at most.
Mama Knight –
The plastic carrying handle snapped off the first time I tried to use it.That said, it is otherwise a good solid crate, especially for the price. I liked having the three doors, and so did my dog. I will say that unless you have a fair amount of muscle, set-up and tear-down can be a trial. My dog isn’t the sort who goes wild in her crate. She doesn’t bang about or chew on it. I had no problems with the doors staying on or staying latched, but if you have a more active dog, I would suggest buying a couple of cheap carabiners along with this crate to latch the doors more securely.

We had a problem with our 7 month old pitbul escaping his cage and causing a lot of havoc in our house while we were gone. I did my research and found that this was supposed to be a great cage for “escape artist” dogs. I was a little concerned considering it had 3 doors! But my worriers were for nothing. This cage has kept him in with no problems at all! It has lived up to my expectations. It’s definitely worth the few extra dollars for the quality material if you have a strong dog (both physically and mentally)

Our McNabb collie puppy sleeps overnight in this crate . This is a sturdy, easy to assemble, safe, high quality crate. We have no complaints and, so, it’s price is justified by the overall quality.
CrazyFrank –
Probable not for dogs with separation issues or not kennel trained. Bought this for my pit mix because he needs ACL surgery and needs to be immobile during his initial recovery. The loops to hold the panels together are smaller than the rest of the cage wire. My girl friend warned my he could pop it like a balloon and escape! I twisted large gauge wire at several points to reinforce it. Need to keep warming him up to this “enclosure” before I schedule the surgery.

We’ve been buying Midwest cages for years. Midwest has in the past built the best cages for the money. It is sad to say, but Midwest cages are now the same junk as every other “Made in China” cage on the market. We bought the “Ultima Pro”.- The hinges are cheap and some were deformed right out of the box.- The wire is a little heavier gauge than the other models, but it’s made out of cheap metal that bends very easy.- The side and top panels don’t line up properly.- There is so much play in the doors they are a rattle trap when you drive. Very annoying.Sorry Midwest. You have lost long time customers.

Unfortunately the crate was dented up a bit and the bottom pan was broken. It was obviously during shipping and getting from the UPS truck to my house. The crate is heavy and the UPS driver was tiny! It took the two of us to get to the door.We were able to pull the bottom pan from the old crate our beast destroyed (not a PRO) and use it. Also able to get crate to work for now. He’s much happier as he had to temporarily use his brother smaller crate. After we order/ receive our new one, I’ll donate this one to Adam’s County Pet Rescue in washington state, unless someone on here could use it.#fortheloveofdogs

Very heavy duty! It’s pretty heavy(as expected) but it could stand up to a pretty wild dog. I bought this for my goldendoodle when we travel because it is the biggest crate I can find that fits in my Jeep Compass easily. It is the tallest crate under 42” I’ve found. The clasps that snap in place to hold it up weren’t made quite right and they aren’t all even, which is the reason for 4 stars. I needed it immediately so, while it’s kind of a pain, it didn’t impact the use enough to return it.

I decided to buy this particular item because of the removable door. Because of the place in my room where I planned to keep it, the door swing would be awkward. I hoped to be able to take the door on/off instead of keeping it open or closed. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get the door back on once you take it off. My husband usually has to monkey with it for several minutes, which is a pain. So, we are just living with the door hanging open at an awkward angle and we have learned to go around the dining room table a different way…. Otherwise this is a good product. My dog, a 70lb greyhound, cannot get out of it and I know she is safe and has enough room to stand up and turn around when inside. As far as attractive, not so much, but we keep it covered with quilts and have learned to accept this huge thing in our living space because it is the cozy home of our beloved girl.

Actually purchased by Hubby for his “boy”. Fits securely behind the drivers seat in his F-150. Perfect size for Golden Retriever & with a sturdy pad it provides comfort & safety.

It was very difficult to get the unlock latch undone, it seems it had been attached over one too many wires. The frame wires very sturdy and heavy duty, but like some others have said, the latches didn’t align to secure all sides — but I took another look and the clips that hold all parts together were turned the wrong way. Probably from my hassle with the first latch. Anyway. Some finesse and it all slid snugly into place! Excited to see how my pups like it.Update: The listing for the size was a little confusing – I wanted to verify that it is a medium sized crate, and my dogs (one at a time!) both fit snugly inside it. They don’t love it, but it works. I ended up ordering another one for my slightly larger dog because she looked so sad in this crate. 24″ tall is not very tall for my 2 year old boxer mix.

I like that it’s sturdy, I had trouble putting the divider in the hook was a bit bent and difficult to maneuver. But I did it even with arthritis

I got this crate to train a rescue puppy who was a stray before he was picked up by animal control. He is part bulldog with a heavy build and strong paws, claws and shoulders. When we first set it up, it was difficult to put together. I think one of the sides had been bent slightly. He managed to pull it open twice. BUT….We used a pair of pliers and changed it from “collapsible” to permanently fixed by crimping the tabs. He no longer escapes. Now he actually likes to go to his bed for a nap. Easy clean. Three doors with latches that require opposable thumbs. I removed one star for having to modify it to make it puppy proof and difficulty in assembly. Recommended.

My wife and I are professional dog trainers and frequently travel to events. I recently purchased 3 of these crates for our travel trailer. They arrived late in the day we were scheduled to leave for a trip. One crate arrived totally trashed (chunk of box ripped out and covered over by shipper. Crate crushed inside like it was backed over by a fork lift). The other two arrived with some parts bent and welds broken (but the box looked to be in reasonable shape). In order to get underway, I left the trashed crate at home and repaired the other two (straightened bent door hinges and welded the broken corner on one crate– I hadn’t noticed the broken weld on the other crate yet). Amazon shipped out replacements for two of the crates and one of those arrived with a broken weld (the other is still in the box).Bottom line– I like the heavy gauge construction and design, but the cheap packaging doesn’t hold up in shipping. Avoid these unless you have a welder, some pliers and a can of black spray paint (and a lot of patience).

I bought the small (25″L x 18.5″W x 21″H) crate for my Shih Tzu puppy. I have the divider up so that she stays on one-half as I house train her. The crate is excellent and well made. It’s convenient to have the three doors. More importantly, I like being able to remove the doors. This was especially helpful at the very beginning as I introduced my puppy to the crate because she could wander in and out. Also, the doors at the ends of the crates are mounted opposite so you can get the door to swing whichever way you wish: I placed the crate in the corner of the living room but realized that the door swung to the right which was inconvenient because it blocked her basked of toys. Well, I simply turned the crate around. The opposite facing door swings to the left. Problem solved! I couldn’t be happier with this product.

I didn’t really need the three doors, but this unit is pretty solid. The doors are double latched, so the probability of an escaping dog is pretty low. Frankly, our Afghan regards this crate as his den, so we just leave the door open and he wanders in and out at will. One day I also opened the side door and he couldn’t quite figure it out so spent about ten minutes walking in and out the two doors until he decided it was a non issue. The next project is to build a sturdy grooming table over it looking like a piece of furniture.

This has been a very study crate for me. That being said, my dog has not attempted to be an escape artist with it. The latches on both the top and the bottom of the door would certainly discourage escaping or bending the door out of place. If my dog was an escape artist, I might add some zip ties to hold it together a bit tighter and provide more connection points. (The zip ties would make it much harder break down and transport). All the doors work very well. That being said, if the connectors / joints on the main cage are out of proper alignment the doors become much more of a challenge. Great crate and I would highly recommend it.

After setting up the crate I tried to secure the door. Unfortunately the door was not attached to the crate evenly so there was not way to secure the door. Clearly a mfg problem as you can see how the door does not line up.

Crate for our Bulldog, gives him plenty of room. Use the crate for inside the travel trailer when going to dog shows. It’s nice that it folds for portability but the end clips don’t fit well and had to tweak it put it together.I have several larger wire crates made by another company and would have purchased from the other company if they only made with the three doors like this one.Three doors handy and convenient to use & work with various configurations when crating my animals in small spaces at shows and when traveling.I’d buy another and will now be better prepared not to have super high product expectations of having an easy precise fit to put together for use.

Great Dog Crate Compared to Many Others on the Market. Is about three times as sturdy as most of our crates, consisting of thicker wires. the “three doors” aspect is nice if it fits your circumstances. The two sliding latches on eachdoor are convenient and functional. the price is much less than most other dog crates on the market, and your dog will not be able to “escape” from it quite possible to do from others.

Heavy duty but latch is welded on crooked and there are rust spots. Latch sticks and usca bit hard to open. Box was damaged and taped, but product seems okay.

This is a great crate. Sturdy, functional and love the three doors. Because I have a Great Dane puppy, I had to have the largest crate and the three doors give me many options for placement. It was easy to put together AFTER I figured out how and where to unlatch the latches that kept it flat and secure for transport. It would be nice it they were easier to locate. But once that issue was resolved, went together in a couple of minutes. It has plastic pieces you put on the bottom so it slides easily on carpet, even with a big dog inside. That is helpful. So far has stood up to a very smart and large puppy.

This crate is definitely strong and sturdy. My Husky went through 2 crates that I purchased from a local store. This crate has outlasted them and shows not sign of being damaged by my 9 month old Husky. The wire is thicker, and overall, the crate is heavier. Great quality and definitely worth the extra $’s as compared to the ones found in the local stores.

The door out of the box is bent, if you have a strong puppy and sticks his head out of it, he’d suffocate. The hinges, is too tight (90 degree turn) and will rub and will cause reliability issues. Seems sturdy enough but the double lock on the door is useless if dog can bend it from the middle. Box is torn on the edges, though no probably not fault of manufacturer.

Very durable. I using it in my small grooming spa rather than buying a very expensive cage. I have moved the crate with a large dog inside of it and it holds together extremely well. You can definitely tell the difference between the Ultima and the iCrate. For smaller dogs, I would opt for the LifeStages one though, but for large dogs or destructive dogs, Ultima for sure.

We are still using the crate for our pup, although our teeny Houdini was able to get out the first time we put him in there in less than 2 minutes and we watched him escape even faster when we put him back in. We’ve been told he’s smart, but if you have an escape artist you will want to be sure to have carabiner clips for both doors. They work great and if you attach it to the lock of the crate it won’t slide and keeps it secure without any gaps. We looked at other crates after the escape happened but think the carabiner is the best option for us since most crate locks look similar.

The size of this cage is hard to find. We needed 27.5″ tall. The 36″ cage i stores is a little smaller than this this would be the in between size for the 36″ & 42″ that are sold in stores. Great quality, decent price. Would definitely recommend!
