Absolutely AMAZING enclosure for ferrets, rats, Syrian hamsters, chinchillas, etc. This was our second purchase actually, and we connected it to our first cage to make one big one for our chinchilla. He loves having all the space, and the bars are strong enough to hold even his heaviest accessories like the metal, 16 inch Chin Spin chinchilla wheel. Strong cage and nearly escape proof for most pets. Treated right, this cage will last longer than you. Absolutely worth every penny.

It was not the easiest to put together even with 2 people. Some parts did not line up correctly. I ended having to pound the sides un with a hammer to get it lined up. Other than that it is a very good cage, sturdy, and very spacious.
Pepperfly –
I use this for my two brand new guinea pigs. It took them a few days to go from the first level to the first level interstitial. Then it was about another week before they ventured up to the second level. I did have to put a thin box under the ramp to soften the steepness (thanks, Domino’s pizza pedestal!). Now the GPs have the run of the entire space and they enjoy finding space away from each other, too. Since this vertical cage fits the space in my home better than a horizontal cage, every day I let them zoom around the long stretch of the hallway while I clean the cage.

Got this for my 2 ferrets. I have had a Ferret Nation cage before and loved them. This one has different joints to secure the sides, top and bottom. That makes it easier to assemble…but also makes the cage overall slightly flimsier. I’ve had the cage a year now and it seems to lean to the side, so I have it up against a wall to better secure it. I definitely like the older version better being it was far more sturdier.

We bought this cage for our chinchillas and they are very happy to be living in it.With that being said I was actually very shocked at how many issues there were when putting this cage together. Everyone we talked to recommend this cage, so we got it. While putting it together several of the panels were bent, there are spots where paint is chipped off and it looks rusted. If it wasnt for the fact that we needed a better cage asap for our chinchillas I would have sent it back and requested a new one. I am very thankful that they are happy and it is a lot easier to clean than the previous cage we had, but i am very disappointed on the condition the cage arrived in.
KristyI –
Came damaged, but reached out to the mfr and they sent me replacement parts. Was missing 8 bolts and washers and they are metric. Was able to buy what I needed to complete the cage. My chinchilla loves it! It’s very big and sturdy, just get through the assembly part and you will be glad you got it.

I will always swear by these cages. I just wish they would make them this size with less space between bars. My female rats got out and got into my male rats cage…..can you guess what happened?I’ve since put chicken wire around it. But would be great for smaller bar space and larger pans ( deeper)

amazon had the lowest price on this cage I could find even while other places had it on sale. Some of the pieces and trays were lightly warped from sitting in the box over time but nothing that prevent it from all going together and the pieces have settled into proper shape after being assembled for a while. I had the feisty ferret cage before. There was nothing wrong with the old one, I just wanted to upgrade. The ferret nation is much larger and since it opens all the way in the front (feisty only opens on one half) it is easier to clean. It also comes with plastic trays that cover the wire on all levels and the feisty ferret does not. I would recommend it over the feisty ferret if you can afford it and have the space. If not, the feisty ferret is good too.

Very durable and sturdy cage. Easy to clean, and the size is perfect for my Ferrets. Both doors open which makes it super easy to clean the trays and get into all the corners. Storage rack underneath helps hold some of their supplies, and helps keep it neat looking. The only thing I dislike on this cage is the ramp to the second level is too easy for them to move around, and I’ve lost the hooks that are supposed to hold them down.
JYabsJYabs –
Very solid cage, doesn’t require much effort. I’d suggest a good Phillips screw driver and a rubber mallet. Other than that some patience and you’ll get it done. Only thing I don’t like are the trays, and the ramp covers. Maybe I’m too stupid to figure it out but they seem so cheaply designed. The coverings aren’t big enough for the whole length of the ramp so the velcro closure is useless and the trays just lay onto of the grates, nothing to slide them into or hold them in place. Again, maybe I’m totally missing something but I was disappointed the rest of the cage was so great, then I got to that part and thought they just dropped the ball completely.
Mallory Borman –
This cage is the only cage I use and recommend for my chinchillas. I have bought several of them over the years and as a warning, there are usually assembly problems. The cage is so heavy that the occasional piece arrives bent. You can reshape it with household tools and the cage itself is super sturdy and will hold up for years.
NellieMae –
My little guy loves his new home. The package arrived and the box was muddy and scuffed up but the contents were fine. It was very difficult to put together. Some of the pieces didn’t line up very well and I needed to use a hammer to bang them together. The doors on the upper level don’t line up evenly but they still latch securely. It took my boyfriend and I about an hour to assemble. The cage is amazingly durable and rugged. Very spacious. I would recommend also buying the upper and lower scatter guards when purchasing this cage because it helps prevent food, pellets, etc from being kicked out of the cage. Very good quality cage.

So overall this is a great cage and worth 200$, only problem is some screw holes were drilled in the wrong angle, and some pieces needed to be hit with a mallet to get them in place. The insructions are little confusing but once you get the hang of it you have no problem! It strudy and i didnt realize how big of a cage it was! I highly reccommed this cage!
Breannalynn –
its a pretty huge cage. we only have 2 ferrets so this is the perfect amount of space for my 2 babies. I had went through 3 different cages because one of my ferrets would escape EVERYTHING else we bought, so we took the dive and spent the money on this one. I’m so happy we did to he cant escape out of it at all {which was my biggest concern} the only thing that was annoying is that some of the pieces came a little bent but was easily fixed. if you have a ferret or plan on getting one definitely get this cage for them. the 200$ is worth it for them to have a big safe space to hangout when they aren’t running around your house

My girls are having a blast with this cage!Super easy to clean, descent amount of space, not too wide but very tall.. (which helps since my apartment is tiny)I covered the bottom of the cage with a bathroom mat I bought on Amazon.. one fit perfectly on the bottom of the cage, and the top of I cut to fit the stairs on the second level ( took like 2 seconds) it was super easy and made it very comfy and cozy for them! The packages arrived really awefull.. the UPS guys were litterally throwing it around and it took me over 6 hours to assemble it (mostly because of how crooked the cage parts were) that’s why I took off a star.

Pretty nice cage but absolute nightmare to put together. Instructions are not very clear meaning parts are not labled, was easy to figure out how to put together though. The top part is very hard to get on and some of the sides we had to struggle so hart to get to line up. It stated in several places in the description that the ramps were plastic but when they arived they were WIRE, the problem with this is that wire ramps can hurt your pets feet. Even though they come with “padded” covers, they are not very padded. This cage is ALOT bigger than we expected it to be and had to be disassembled to fit through door way. But in the end it is an amazing cage, huge and worth the cost and hassle to put together.

Love this cage. I needed something for my hedgehog and bearded dragon and this worked perfectly. I switched the floor with the hole that goes to the second level with the storage rack shelf so the top and bottom sections are completely separate. There was 2 tabs bent a little but it was nothing to straighten them out with a pair of pliers. Very good cage for a great price. Definitely recommend.

I don’t usually write reviews, especially since this account was created in my husband’s name; but after seeing how many bad reviews this cage has in regards to assembly, I thought I’d share our experience. This is a great cage for our little hedgehog. The assembly really wasn’t as bad as people say in other reviews. As long as you have common sense (which isn’t so common lol), are mechanically inclined, and able to figure things out, it is not very difficult at all. There may be a couple of brackets that you have to straighten a little with a couple of light taps, other than that it went together pretty quickly. My 14 yo daughter and myself assembled it in a little over a half hour.Overall we are happy with this purchase.
Robyn M. Smith –
I bought these for a cat rescue. They provide nice separated areas for litter box below, food and bedding above. If needed, the tray can be turned around to close off the hole and make 2 units out of one. The adjustable shelf makes a nice bed loft. These work great for kittens or young adult cats – the hole to move between levels would be harder for a larger cat. These are easy to clean and the doors make access very easy. Because they use vertical space, the cats can get up high and floor real estate allows for other use. Assembly is challenging so I hired someone to do it for me.
Danielle –
I love this cage. it is roomy for two guinea pigs that like to pop a lot. It was easy enough to put together especially after ‘I watched a few YouTube videos. It is easy to clean up and use Kooltail pee pads (24″x36″) to line the trays. The only caveat is the poop that scatters out of the cage. They have scatter guards you can purchase but I did a DIY method using cardboard. I pigs have no problem going up and down the ramps that come with covers when you purchase the cage.

I bought this cage as an upgrade so my baby could have more vertical jumping space. I’ve always heard good things about the Ferret and Critter nation cages, so I finally took the plunge! First off the assembly was, at some parts, a little difficult (not all holes lined up perfectly ????) and although I’m 99% sure it could be done alone I would definitely recommend making it a two person job. As for the finished product it is WAYYYY bigger than I anticipated. I got a double and WOW. My solo chinchilla really lives in a mansion LOL Cleaning is gonna be sooo much easier now. I love that all 4 doors open all the way (although I think Fluffy is a little wierded out at the fact that I can insert myself so far into his cage now ????). Overall I would recommend the Ferret Nation cage to anyone looking to upgrade or looking for a great size cage for their chinchilla(s). One thing to note is that the bar spacing is wide (1 inch I believe) so it would only be suitable for older/bigger chinchillas that couldn’t squeeze through the bars 🙂

Huge enclosure to make your Ferrets feel at home. Plenty of room to play and sleep. Bigger area means more separate places to eat sleep play and potty. Which helps your ferret keep clean and stink less. We have two in this enclosure and they are so much more happier and cleaner than they were in the previous One we had which we picked up at petco that was a quarter of the size of this one.
Exrenthi –
This is a great cage. It’s really easy to slide out the platforms and clean, the doors can come off which is SUPER handy. I also really like that there’s two doors that give full access to the cage. I never realized it was something I needed until I had it. My ferrets are happy in their new home and I think they would rate it 5/5 stars, so I give it 5/5 stars.
Debbie Lu –
I got this cage to use for foster kittens. I have MidWest cat play pens for adult cats and older kittens, but the Ferret Nation cage is the safest option for moms with newborns or kittens under the age of 10 weeks. The adjustable shelves and ramps allow for greater flexibility and adjusting as the kittens grow.
Kindle Customer –
The only reason it gets 4 stars is the assembly. Have pliers and a string back handy. Not certain if it’s a maneuvering issue, or a shipping issue, but like many others here I received product that did not align correctly and required manual adjustments. That being said, I live everything else about it. My wife and I foster neonatal kittens and our litter of 5 fit great up to about 11 weeks.
SamanthaSamantha –
It arrived 2 days after I ordered which was great. My boyfriend and I assembled it in about 45 minutes which was pretty simple. The directions were easy to understand. Some of the pegs that puzzle the panels into each other had to be beaten into place with a mallet because they weren’t lining up correctly but no big deal. Once it’s together this thing is pretty solid. One concern I did have is is the bottom shelf seemed a little slanted and I was scared it was going to fall on top of them one day so I zip tied it into place. Cleaning it is really easy since all of the pans can be taken out. I love this thing and my babies are really comfortable in it. Definitely worth the money.
Freyasdaughter –
This cage is wonderful and easy to clean. I can take all the components out and put them back in with no problems. Since I need the cage to be able to be scrubbed pretty frequently I am thankful for the ease of access. The doors all come off and are easy to put back on if you need extra space. Having it on wheels is very helpful because it is easy to move to vacuum under and behind it.
Rebecca Williams –
I loved how easy this is to assemble and disassemble! It’s perfect for my chinchillas. I did purchase the scatter guards that fit as well, which really do help with the mess they create. The trays are super easy to clean, just open the doors and remove. Can be sprayed off with a regular garden hose in very little time if necessary. Or just use the cage cleaner if you clean the cage daily. 5 out of 5 for sure!
flickagal07 –
I will echo what everyone else said about needing a rubber mallet. My boyfriend helped me put this together and there were only a few times we needed to use the mallet, but you definitely still need one. Other than a few things needing a little bending, and a little confusion, the assembly went smoothly. I only have two ferrets and this is plenty of room for them. I use the second story as a soft, blanket filled play/sleep spot for them. The bottom has no liner because they’re messy and get food crumbs everywhere and would proceed to eat the liner with the food bits. They also butt scoot out of their litter box and it’s just easier to clean with a bare floor.

The cage came the very next morning after I ordered it the morning before which is extremely surprising and I was very happy! The box is very large and very heavy (weighs about 100 pounds). Assembling the cage wasn’t terrible but had some parts where the pegs of the sides of the cage didn’t align so I had to hammer it in (instructions does warn you about it). The doors are a bit crooked and at times to close it, I have to push it in a little to lock. It took me about 2 hours to build it and I am very satisfied with it. My ferret loves all the space and he finally cannot escape!

We liked the first one so much we got another one! The instructions are easy to follow. Very easy to put together. It says no tools required but a rubber hammer is very helpful. I’m short and I put them both together alone. We have three rabbits and the clean up is a lot. The set up is worth it but fair warning. I love the doors open all the way. Everything was packed/shipped securely.Update: We are using this for rabbits and it is designed for ferrets. Two of our three rabbits refuse to use the ramp to the upstairs. Idk if they are scared of the hole or what but we reconfigured our two cages into one big cage. We removed the “inside” walls so they can run across instead of up and down. Still very happy with these but wanted to show this option for anyone who may need it.
Mog –
This home was really easy to assemble and provides a lot of room for our 2 ferrets, who both love their habitat. The only issue we’ve had is that our ferrets like to rip the velcro straps off which hold up the ramps, so we made some metal clamps to hold up the ramps which fixed the problem.

Perfect. I had a smaller cage for my ferret Dr. Pepper, but when I got Soba and they grew a bit, I needed a more spacious home for them. They have an entire room ferret-proofed specially for them, so they have plenty of space regardless, but I needed a cage where they wouldn’t practically be on top of each other all the time. Now, I feel way better about putting them in the cage when I have to go out or sleep. There have also been a couple of occasions where I had to separate them for medical reasons to keep an eye on each of them separately and the ability to close off the levels from each other has come in handy. Overall very happy with this cage and how much space my little floofins have.

I love this cage it’s perfect for my two piggy’s. The instructions were a little hard to understand how to put it together. I covered the hole for the top with the bottom pan liner and put a piece of cardboard on the bottom where the cutout goes for the top pan liner. I have a boy and girl and they both love it! I didn’t use the upper level ramps because I didn’t want my piggy’s climbing but the loft heights are adjustable.

I have owned several ferrets and ferret enclosures throughout the years.I also was a zoo manager, and cage quality and durability definitely gets fairly criticized. This cage is outstanding. Putting it together took a reasonable amount of time.I highly recommend this cage. The size is extremely large. The material it is made from will last well beyond your ferrets life span.Click purchase you wont regret it

It took me about 1.5 hrs to put together.. Pretty easy although what took most time was trying to figure out which was what because they are not labeled just package according.. They do supply a Phillips Head (use your own)… Our newly adopted ferret loves her new roomy sleep area…I have 4 stars because the bottom base that holds items had a few rust spots & for the price I would not think there would be any rust or stretches, yet there was…

We LOVE this new cage we purchased for our two ferrets. I wish we would have had this cage from the beginning. We plan on adding the extra addition on at some point, but for now we are loving this easy to assemble, very sturdy, visually appealing, easy to clean environment for Goblin and Willow. It’s very roomy and allows for extra things to be put in their cage (i.e.: we use a hightop Converse shoe box with a little hole cut in the side for their little “hideaway”). My husband and 11 year old daughter easily put it together in short time and the ferrets had fun sniffing everything and checking it all out. I would highly recommend this living environment for small pets!! FYI- as one can read, but don’t always notice, this is a 93lb box of product! Very sturdy, but heavy to get in the door of one’s house.

It looks great, and I’m sure my ferret will love it. However, practically nothing lined up right. Luckily I had a heavy-duty hammer and after about a hundred strikes was able to get the male and female parts corrected. One major issue I had, though, was part of a female portion of the cage was completely squashed. I don’t know how it became so deformed–this is heavy duty metal, we’re talking about. It was unsalvagable, and so one side of my cage juts out (see pics), but there’s no way the ferret would be able to squeeze out. For something costing almost $250, you’d think holes and pegs would actually line up, paint wouldn’t be chipping, and important parts wouldn’t be so severely damaged.

This has been my dream cage and I finally got it! I love this cage so much! It not only looks great, but it’s super sturdy and so much easier to clean than my last set up!The set up was easy! I was able to assemble it all by myself within a few hours, my pets had a hay day trying to “help” me, so it took a little longer than it probably should have.I was pretty surprised and so pleased by just how sturdy the whole thing is, too. No wobbles, no wiggle room, it’s all a tight fit and heavy. The wheels make it very easy to move around despite it’s weight! All the plastic lining is removable for easier cleaning and that helps so much.I have 3 boys and they are super happy with it, they get a lot of extra room, a whole extra floor level and room for more beds and toys. On hot days they can now spread out and cool off if they need to. Or even just spread out on their extra level and roll around. 🙂

Our Shelter uses these cages for kittens. I bought one more for them and one for myself since I sometimes foster sick kitties who need a quiet place to recoup. It’s roomy for them and even an adult cat will fit through the hole between the levels. I keep the litter box on the first level and food and water on top. These were easy to put together but I did need the help of a Rubber Mallet. They are very sturdy and don’t wiggle and the big doors make it easy for cleaning.

I just finished putting this together and I have to say I must have gotten lucky because all of my pieces fit very well together and the instructions and super clear so assembly was pretty easy. I Bought this for my Chinchilla but I haven’t put her in the new cage yet as I still need to figure out what I’m going to do about preventing poop from going everywhere and needing to cover the plastic trays. They sent me 2 middle trays with the corner opening for some reason so now I have to figure out how I’m going to get a hold of them to get it figured out or what I’m going to have to do to replace it.I really love it so far. I’ll update if something changes.

Irritated!! I love the cage but I ordered 2 Critter Nations and now I have 2 Ferret Nations sitting at my house even after I corrected the order before it arrived. But with that being said to the small pet owners thinking about buying, The cage is awesome!!!! worth money spent the space is amazing and so easy to clean… My totally messed up order has nothing to do with the way the cage functions. Just make sure before you check out you are ordering the right cage Critter Nation for your Teeny tiny “Sugar Glider”ect.. and Ferret Nation for your little bit bigger buggers.

This cage is amazing! Very sturdy and everything we could want for our Miss Frizzle ferret! She loves the space as you can see in the picture, she wore out quickly from running around! And there is plenty of room to add a couple rescue ferrets soon!It was a little difficult to put together cause some pieces were bent but with some redneck intuition my husband got it done!I would buy it again if we needed but we won’t cause i forsee this one lasting for a very long time! We recommend t to everyone with a small pet!

This cage is well worth the money. I have two ferrets and they just love all the space to play in. The cage being so large makes it very easy to clean. I will say it was a tad difficult to put together and even though it says “no tools necessary” I did use some of my own to make things a little easier. Overall though I am very pleased with my purchase. 100% would recommend.
Chris ZChris Z –
First off the installation wasn’t that simple in many cases needed to use a hammer to get the walls to fit in the holes. The most important issue is the one picture in this review, there is too large of a gap in the cage that our ferret was just able to walk right out of the side of the cage.If it wasn’t for both of these issues it would have been a 5 star review.
TinaTina –
This is a great size cage. My chinchilla has more than enough room in it. You could easily have 2 or 3 chinchillas in it and they would have plenty of room to play. There were some parts that were slightly warped so it made putting the cage together slightly difficult. The instructions were a little confusing at times but I found a great youtube video to follow along with. I would recommend you have a rubber mallet or some kind of tool to help you with a few steps in the building process if you are doing it by yourself, or need a little extra strength it makes the process go a lot quicker. Overall I am very happy with the cage. One of the cage doors would not open at first as there was glue or something around one of the opening mechanisms. But I was able to get that off and now it works.
Brittney –
I would recommend being careful with the latters, there were a few really sharp parts from welding so make sure you file those down and use the covers that come with the cage. We are using this for our chinchilla. We are replacing the plastic shelf inserts with metal ones we ordered as chins like to chew… everything. We are also adding some wooden perches throughout the cage. We decorated with hammocks and hay hangers and a chin spin (totally worth the money!!!!!) The assembly was incredibly easy and our chinchilla loves his upgrade from the kaytee cage which was just overused and way too flimsy and small for an active chinchilla. Overall, the improvements theyve made through the years are wonderful. We had a very old hand me down ferret nation for our ferrets and i ended up spray coating it because it started to rust. The bolts rusted into the framework and were impossible to disassemble completely. Mostly because of the urine from our ferrets funky piddle positioning. However, the cage we just got on monday has had some major improvements made making the cage 10x easier to assemble, less suseptible to rust and overall more capable of years of use! i wouldnt recommend any other cage. We were going to go a little cheaper and get a different brand with similar looks but i didnt want to risk the disappointment. Im very happy with my purchase decision and wouldnt recommend any other cage!!!!

I purchased this cage for my chinchilla. I was very pleased with how easy the set up was. I hate putting stuff like this together but they made it quite easy with the packaging. Only a total of 10 screws. Aside from assembly being easy the cage is very spacious and sturdy. The doors open up so you can access everything in the cage with ease. Makes cleaning a breeze. Definitely would recommend this cage.

I have two ferrets and this cage is so perfect for them. The double doors and layout make is so easy to clean and it is great quality. It was very easy to assemble, I’ve had many pets and this cage was probably the easiest. There is barely any screws and the cage just pops together but feels very sturdy. This is the second ferret cage I’ve owned and it is definitely worth the price. Dont bother buying a cheaper cage because you will just need to upgrade, ferrets are pretty difficult pets to clean after!
Ryan –
Exactly what my ferrets needed! I have 2 ferrets and sometimes I have to leave them sometimes for 12 hours and I felt bad with their smaller cage. This cage is perfect having multi levels and lots of room for themto crawl around. Only draw back is that the entrance ramp that goes to it (not included) is rather steep for them. I had to use a small box as a step for the ramp to raise it up a bit. Other than that, very sturdy and easy to celan. I would recommend the Scatter Guards (provided by the same company) for each level. You wont regret it.

I went through two other cages before I bought this one for my ferrets, they were both flimsy and poorly designed. This one is amazing. My pets have so much more room to play, it’s super easy to clean, and it’s going to last a very long time. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

I love these cages for my ferrets. They can’t escape, and they are so easy to clean because both doors open wide. I fill it with soft blankets, use a pelleted litter in a large rectangular pan, and take out the ramps (my ferrets don’t use them). I’ve been using this type of cage for over 20 years, and love them.I’m older now, so I only use the top level and store bedding (blankets, sleep sacks and hammocks) in the lower part. Very convenient.
Ctvwarren –
When putting it together, I needed a rubber mallet to get the sides to go in. Also the pictures of the wire mesh for #E and #F look different however they are the exact same thing (to me anyway I could not tell them apart at all).Took me about 1 1/2 hours to get it put together. Best thing to do is pull it all out and put it in order A-I so then you can just grab and go and not spend several minutes looking through all of the different pieces for the one you need… It is very heavy duty, made very well, very pleased and the ferrets love it! I am glad that I went with this one and not the cheaper one that did not have the bottom covers to go over the wire mesh.
R. Dunford –
We bought this for one chinchilla. She loves it. She quickly took off the velcro straps that hold the ramps on, and because she is a chinchilla, she doesn’t need the ramps at all to go level to level. She is so much happier in this cage because there is so much space. We have a litter pan in the bottom, but the rest of the levels are just bare, not deep enough for any kind of litter material, but it works out.
T. Lewis –
This unit is very sturdy. Strong frame and wire panels. Easy to assemble with hand tools. This has made my daughter clean up after her ferret more often, because of the ease of access to all areas of the cage. Most of the other cages out there are made with flimsy panels and accessories. This cage is very durable. The locking mechanism is very substantial, therefore no critters escaping. If you plan on having small animals for a long period of time, do yourself a favor and invest in this cage.

Put this together in about 1 1/2 hours. Didn’t need to use anything that was not already included in the package. I am not necessarily good with building and fixing things, my husband is, but I was able to do this myself with out even thinking about needing help. Plus, my chinchilla loves all her new space!

I got this cage for my ferret, first of is super big and has so much room for him to play around. The assembly was a little tricky because I’m a short individual, and I do believe even though you can do it alone, maybe ask someone to help with some parts that need more precision. It is very easy to clean since it has 4 doors and you can literally get to every corner if you open them, I love it and my ferret seems to enjoy the extra space.
SuzySuzy –
My three boys love this cage. Loads of space and areas for them to sleep and hang out. I like it bc it’s *ridiculously* easy to clean, with the fully-opening front and slide-out trays. It’s a whole life upgrade for both of us. It’s a little spendy, yes, but it’s also 100% worth it for you and your pets. I also bought the cover that goes with it and that was a good choice too (not paid, just a suggestion for other ferret parents!) Ferrets like the snugness and darker interior for sleeping. It helps them feel safe and cuts down on unnatural (interior/home) light exposure, which isn’t the best for them.

I bought this cage for my ferret, Loki. He’s 2 months old. I ordered this wednesday and got it on friday, so overall pretty fast shipping. When it got to my door, box wasnt damaged all that bad, but had some wear and tear. All of the parts were in the box and nothing was missing but holy crap it was so heavy to move.Every other review about assembly is 100% correct. This thing is a mother to put together. Seriously. You’ll need a rubber mallet, as you’ll have to pound some pieces into the holes to fit correctly. I just wrapped my hammer in a pillow case and that worked perfectly. The hardest part on the assembly is getting the two middle grates to fit into the side bar holes properly. So frustrating- so have your swear words armed and ready. Overall, the cage is nice, but REALLLLY BIG. If you have multiple ferrets it’s a perfect fit. But if you only have one, a single story would be perfect. Loki seems to like it. It’s a really nice cage!!

I had half of a critter nation and then this full ferret nation. Put the top half of the ferret nation on the critter nation for the chinchillas. The Chinchillas Love sticking their mouths out for treats and tails out to tease us. Nice to be able to put my fingers in the cage without opening the door. The rabbits can stick their mouths out for treats as well and they seem to like it compared to the smaller barred cage they were in before.Easy to assemble and very sturdy. Unless having very small babies a ferret nation is my preferred cage. The Chinchillas hang out more in the ferret nation part

Like other reviewers, i had problems with cage parts. One panel missing a bar that allows my biggest ferret to fit through & the top pan is warped allowing my ferrets to get under it but I immediately called the company & they are sending replacement parts. This is still an amazing cage for ferrets & with a company that stands behind its product, this is the must have Cage! Setting up is very simple with clearly explained steps. Took 30 minutes

There are definitely a couple pieces that you need some muscle to go into place, but like many people suggest we got a $3 rubber mallet from the store and this cage came together perfectly. The directions are full of confusing run on sentences which is annoying… just make sure you don’t fully tighten everything on the cage until you’re done putting it together! that is the most important step in my opinion, it gives the cage room to move around if you need to shove another piece in. Great product ! Got one from amazon and one from chewy and they come in exactly the same for anyone who wanted to know that LOL the reviews were iffy on both. Also it is indeed the biggest ferret cage you cane get. we have a dinky version of this and the quality is ridiculously better.

I would give it 5 stars but whomever molded the iron on the brackets didn’t leave a large enough gap between the pointy piece that fits into the squares at the bottom of each of the side panels and what would have taken maybe 30 minutes to put together took well over 3 hours while I hammered warped pieces from me shoving (before I realized what the issue was) and then pried the pieces apart. I ruined my good metal Cuisinart spatula trying to pry the pieces apart so they’d slide together. The quality control department needs a good talking to!

This thing is awesome! very sturdy doors that open all the way to pull everything out for cleaning, or just grabbing your fur baby out of the hammock in the back corner. The wheels lock and unlock easily so you can move it around. The bars are spaced very well and cut down drastically on cage rage from the previous one we had. Its a little large but you will love it and your fur baby will to.

the trays are flimsy and chip on the corners easily. if your fuzzybutts decided to claw at the corners they could cut themselves. mine have never done anything like that but just a heads up. also some of them will fall off of the shelves in the middle of the night. doesn’t seem to bother them when that happens however. I like the open design and the doors are very sturdy and stay closed. another warning though, keep a blanket folded up on the floor in front of the cage in case your pet tries escaping and falls out unexpectedly.

Love this cage for our two ferrets. The top cage can be separated from the bottom cage. Great for keep ferrets separate when introducing them. Assembly was little tricky as some of the metal parts did not connect well and my husband had to use a mallet and a flat head screw driver to make them fit. But once we got it together its been great! The wheels move nicely and it can go from room to room easily. The doors latch shut great and our 3 year old has not figured out how to open it. Thats a plus!

It’s great. Nice and roomy for my two ferrets. My only complaint is scatter guards of some sort for the shelves would be nice ferrets can be messy. It’s a little difficult to clean their “messes” out of the corners. And sometimes the shelves will fall down but they’re easy to put back on. Assembly was a little difficult. Would definitely recommend 2 people.

[RECOMMEND A HAMNER] Ok so it was semi-easy to assemble. One of the doors was broke but I hammered it to fit back the way it was suppose to be.I also had a problem with one of the side pieced where it would not fit at all into its slot which i had to hammer that down then hammer the side of it to fit into that dang slot that was too skinny for it. There was other minor complications also but it was easy to fix. Next, you can see that one of the rack piece has a crack in it which really sucks. Im kind of disappoimted with that but its too much of a hassle to return this cage especially since it was very heavy box… Other than that I absolutely love how big this cage is… but I didnt read the details enough to notice it was 1 ” spacingon my part. Cus it was meant for my sugar gliders and I thought that ferret nation and critter nation were the same. If i ever get a ferret or chinchilla I would buy this cage even even with all the minor complications.

This product is perfect for my bunnies. It is not a stand alone cage however. I have mine set up with one of the bottom doors removed and a ramp from the opening to a large play area. I have two small bunnies so the cut out in the floor works just fine for them but if you have a medium to large rabbit it will either have to be modified or will not work for you. It is important for bunnies to have lots of flat space to hop. They need to be able to go at least 8 feet in a single direction the more floor space the better. Just make sure to give them hiding places so they aren’t scared all the time from being in the open. Over all my only complaint is the doors don’t shut all the way unless you press on the bottom to get the bottom pin to slide in.

This review is for Model 182, FERRET NATION version which is PERFECT for my Dutch bunny! I was worried that the opening between levels wouldn’t be large enough for my medium size rabbit but she seems to maneuver the passage effortlessly. And since rabbits are agile jumpers, she didn’t need a ramp on every level, instead just one ramp was installed to help her maneuver between the 2 main levels just beneath the opening (kinda like a step stool). Not only is there plenty of room for bun to stretch out, stand up, hop, bunny flop, etc, but the 4 levels allow multiple nooks for bedding, litter, and food placement. Bunny condo living! This habitat is easy to assemble, easy to clean, and very sturdy! Highly recommended.

I’m only 16 and I’m 5’4 only 203 pounds and I am so amazed because the delivery guy carried this onto the porch and then I carried this up the stairs myself , it was a little much .. but this is and was so easy for me to put together for the age I am , and the video tutorials helped so much. My ferrets are gonna love this, they delivered it so quick and easy that this was just phenomenal, thankyou so much and this was truly a blessing and something great to do. I thought I’d need help but this was so much easier to do by myself , the wires that hold the tray was the hardest part for me because I ended up forgetting to put the wires down . But other then that it was so easy to go back and do it ???????? Thank you Jesus , thankyou for shipping this a day early I love Amazon and I always will. Blessings to all

I will say i uave owned each model of this cage. Normally i buy used because of the price but with all the sickness going around with animals we made the choice to buy new. I see they havefixed previous issues with shipping such as bent brackets that hold the sides making assembly easier. And they made larger more sturdy wheels. One thing i dont care for is the ramps and now plastic… but did come with covers. And i had a bent area on the top of my cage. But nothing i cant bend back later.I will suggest using a rubber mallet because it fits snugly together. But you will mot be disappointed!

They include a tiny screwdriver for putting together the base because it does in fact need a tool for assembly. The rest of the cage is assembled using tabs and inserts. This unfortunately makes it a bit flimsy. In the end it’s good enough – sturdiness-wise. Then there’s the wheels… I had to use a mallet and pair of scissors to get them into place. The instructions say to use your hand or foot, but the wheels are made of plastic so they start to bend if you put pressure on certain parts – basically it’s really hard to get them on.On the other side, there are some really good this about this cage too. It’s very spacious, it’s easy to insert the platforms, and under the smaller platforms is space to put toys and such. I’m using this cage for my chinchilla and it’s easy to clean. Included are ramp covers and I very much like those. The doors also come off so I can add some more ledges near the back of the cage, so that’s another plus.Generally, I’m glad I got this cage, I’m just salty that it was so hard to get those wheel on.
